Miguel's restaurant is celebrated for its flavorful, homemade dishes and the charm of tableside presentations, which have left many guests delighted. While the food generally earns rave reviews, there have been some concerns about inconsistency in both food quality and preparation. The attentive staff often receive praise, although a few diners have noted slow service at times. The Early Bird menu stands out as particularly good value, despite some visitors experiencing the aforementioned service issues. The restaurant's warm, old-fashioned ambiance is frequently highlighted as enhancing the overall dining experience, especially for special occasions.

Covid-19 has changed some things, but it is still a great dining experience. They have removed some tables allowing more spacing in the dining room. The menu may have been simplified some, but it is still very complete. It is an exceptional value if you go for the Early Bird menu. Service was great as it has always been in the past. They have a small but well-balanced wine list, and the knowledgeable server steered me to a less expensive wine that was very good and a great value.

First time diner, and this was by far the best food experience of my time in Sarasota. Staff is incredible, food is out of this world. Great dining experience. Everyone visiting siesta key should eat here!! Family owned and operated for 30+years, every diner, first time or repeat guest is treated like family!

Was lucky enough to dine at Miguel’s twice in one week and have Tobias as our waiter both times. First time, ordered off the “Savor Sarasota” menu: each of us —after struggling to select from the great options for each course—enjoyed our meals tremendously! The escargot were plump and fantastic with juices we happily sopped up with the wonderful warm bread. And the chocolate/toffee creme brûlée was amazing. Second visit, we ordered from the early bird menu which has even more options for main courses than the Savor Sarasota menu. It was terrific and also a noteworthy value. Shrimp cocktail, a lovely garden salad, filet with wild mushrooms (and other vegetables) and dessert for under $25 in a relaxing and charming setting, with warm and attentive service is a truly remarkable value. I will definitely be back!

We arrived at Miguel's with a 7 pm dinner reservation only to find that there were at least 15 people ahead of us waiting in a small lobby to be seated. There were many more standing outside waiting to get in. We gave our name to the person at the front who told us we would have a 30 minute wait because they were overbooked. We waited about 10 minutes and saw that more and more people were arriving and that only one table had left. This is no way to run a business. We will not be back.

We understand this was a disappointment to you and we are sorry to hear about your experience. The area as well as the country is experiencing a lack of staffing and an overwhelming influx of diners, we assure you we do our best during these difficult times. Diners are never rushed and given plenty of time to dine with us which sometimes causes a backlog of reservations coming in. We appreciate your feedback and would hope you reconsider dining with us in the future.

In town for vacation, back here yearly for over 25 years. Staff has always been well trained and is outstanding. Menu is varied but not too large for this small facility. Veal and beef have always been outstanding. They offer an Early Bird or the regular menu, candidly since my Wife and I have reached senior age we cannot eat the full meal from the regular menu. The early bird is still more than we can eat so we have left overs for home. I had duck, my Wife had veal; both excellent. We will return this trip for the beef.

Wow wow wow. I cannot day enough great things about this restaurant. The food and service were amazing. Dana was an amazing waiter. He was so attentive with my family from wine recommendations to making my kids feel special by helping him make the ceasar salad. Everything we ate was delicious. It is a must do in siesta key. Truly one of the best French restaurants I have ever been to and I lived in France. Thank you for an incredible 38 anniversary dinner for my in laws.

Guess we went on a bad night. Arrived on time for our reservation. we were seated on time. We waited 15 minutes for our waiter to stop by and say hello placed a drink and appetizers order. Drinks arrived in about 10 minutes Appetizers 30 minutes food order took over an hour to arrive. We were finally served our meal one hour and 45 minutes after we sat down. Food was cool plates were hot. Manager came and apologized. Brought after dinner 43 drinks free . Very nice people . OK food noting outstanding about the food. But I won’t wait that long for food anywhere. If I wasn’t a guest of a friend I would have left Don’t feel I have any reason to go back. Service poor, decor ok, food ordinary, parking bad owners seem to act like they care but to many great restaurants in Sarasota

We just had the most outstanding dining experience at Miguel's in Siesta Key- it is officially our new favorite restaurant in SK! The service and hospitality provided by our server Sybil was impeccable, the quality and presentation of the food was extraordinary, everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. We ordered tiger shrimp and beef wellington for appetizers, filet mignon, salmon and diver scallops for dinner and white chocolate bread pudding and chocolate mousse for dessert. We cannot recommend this place highly enough- truly the best dining experience in the area! We'll definitely be back soon!

My husband and I went during the middle of the week and were greeted immediately. Our host and server wore masks and made us very comfortable right away. My husband ordered the Mixed Grill, which was lamb chops with mint sauce, veal with bordelaise sauce, and filet mignon with bearnaise sauce. I ordered the Les Fruits De Mer which was Coquille St. Jacques, Fresh fish du jour and Shrimp Provencal. Both of us were super pleased with our dishes. Service throughout the meal was impeccable (ask for Dana!). We finished our meal off with Crepes Suzette. Yum!!! Our whole experience from start to finish was positive. I would highly recommend this place and we are sure to make it a stop each time we return to Siesta Key!

We had a terrible experience from start to finish. Have been to Miguel's several times over the past 7 years but will not go back. Had a reservation which made no difference because they were just taking people in order as they were backed up at the door standing among boxes and old Christmas decorations at the end of June. Not one employee asked if any of us had a reservation. No way to sit at the bar as it was full of clutter. Finally got seated and the place was filthy, even a dead bug on the wall beside us. Dirty wine glasses, food was greasy, never got part of what we ordered, just a dismal experience for a place that used to be truly fine dining. We emailed the management and never got a reply. Guess they no longer care about quality and satisfaction. It used to be amazing. They should be ashamed.

My sister & I went to Miguel’s at the suggestion of a local. We made it for the early bird, which offered 4 course meals for about $20. We both ordered the shrimp cocktail appetizer, salad and the filet mignon. The bread served before the appetizer was the best bread I’ve ever eaten, and I’ve lived for over 1/2 a century! I even ordered more to take home to Palm Beach County. The filet mignon was the best steak I’ve ever eaten…perfectly cooked and very tender. The bearnaise sauce was delicious with the steak. Dan mixed yummy martinis, and our waiter, Paul, was flawless. Loved this place!

Absolutely a unique dining experience every time! Family owners and staff are so friendly and clearly want to give you a fun, formal, and memorable dining experience. Eric was excellent server. My wife and I come here each year when we visit Siesta Key. Mussels appetizer the best ever... Caesar salad voted best in Sarasota and is done tableside (unique and fun). Lamb chops perfect. Duck L’Orange is ridiculously good. I don’t think I’ve ever had such a flavorful dish! Don’t pass on the flam bay desserts, a visual and taste bud treat for sure!!!

The worst of the experience (I could go on and on): Had a 7:00 reservation for the first family get together in a hundred years. What a calamity! The waitress had been pulled off busboy duty to wait tables. She didn’t know anything about french food and asked if I’d like my steak tartar rare or medium After an hour and a half she finally brought appetizers but they were all wrong - she brought escargot and said they were mussels, neither of which we had ordered. The coquille St Jacques was a pile of soggy breadcrumbs over one scallop. half an hour later she brought mussels which she insisted we had ordered. Finally 9:45 she brought the main course for 3 of us, promising the main course for my 96 year old aunt momentarily. Another 1/2 hour went by, table a mess, even after asking several times to clear the table. The manager came over and made a flimsy excuse about being overbooked and we’d only made the reservation the prior day so we shouldn’t complain - since when does that qualify a dinner guest as a second class citizen? He sent over a more experienced waiter to try to make us feel better “what can I do to make this right with you even though I can’t do anything to make it right?” By the time the final entree arrived we were so tired and frustrated that we just paid the bill and left $210 was insult to injury.

First, this was on a busy a Friday night prime time high season. Service was not attentive enough. The tikefish special was overcooked and had a fishy taste. I have to question it's freshness. Our friend should have sent it back. The veal chop special at $46 was ordered medium rare to rare and was overcooked. The served tried to argue that it was cooked properly but quickly agreed to take it back and cook another. The chop was done perfectly the second time. My wife's duck was also overcooked and dry and had to be returned and the second one was perfect, really moist with an excellent orange sauce. The french onion soup tasted like there was a touch of pernod and was very good. We enjoyed the steak tartare app and the delicious frites that accommodated it. The Cesar salad made tableside was quite good with the right amounts of mustard and anchovy. I think the problem with our experience was that they were jammed up. We will try again during weekday out of high season.

Nice restaurant. Excellent meal. Good selection. Only downside was meal took hours. I think that is just this type of establishment. But the service was good. It seems pricey but when you compare what your paying at the places in the village for average food Miguel’s is worth it. They also were able to accommodate us later in the day without reservations. I would definitely recommend.
