We had a great time on the back porch of the Cottage. Everyone, guests and staff alike were super friendly. The food was excellent and the guitar player added that extra "I'm on vacation feel". I would certainly go back again! We stayed with the Tapas menu and each time we ordered something new it was delicious and brought out promptly. We would certainly go back again!

I have literally nothing to complain about! Just go here. Our service was beyond exceptional. Our waitress was attentive, cheerful, and put our kids orders in right away. (We had a 5-year-old and 3 kids age 3). Our food came very quickly and was delicious. I got the "Billionaire Burger" (or something along those lines) and it was honestly top 3 burgers of my life. The flavors were perfect and the bun was fantastic. I got the sweet potato fries which come with a cinnamon/sugar dusting (yum!). They didn't come with sauce so I asked if they typically did and the waitress brought me a plate of sauces to choose from. I loved their signature chicken sandwich sauce the most. My husband and friend got the blackened grouper sandwich which was also very tasty and the kid's meals were the perfect size.
This was my first time to Siesta Key Village and I loved the area! We are thinking of going back and getting a rental in this cute little area and will definitely be back to The Cottage!

We found The Cottage by accident, while looking for somewhere for lunch, and recognised at once a warm cosy atmosphere and lovely looking food on the tables of nearby diners! Our first impressions were confirmed in full. This is a small wooden building with a terrace outside, where the service was excellent, and speedy, and every dish we saw and chose was beautifully prepared, visually stunning and well worth the price. The Lobster bisque soup was rich and beautiful, the tempura prawns were outstanding and the crab cakes were all crab with a delightful sauce. Strongly recommended.

This restaurant offers several Peruvian dishes, burgers, and fancy entrees. The food experience was mixed. The fried plantains with chimichura sauce were great, but the edamame salad was bland. The scallop entree had three smallish, overcooked, and tough scallops. The mixed salad with marinated, grilled tofu was a wonderful treat for the vegetarian in our group. There was very nice live music in the back patio where we ate and the service was good.

I love this place, my husband not so much. I love the menu and have never had a bad meal. My husband has repeatedly ordered food he really didn’t like. I like creative offerings, he’s more of a traditional guy who likes unpretentious food offerings like forbidden rice. They have tapas and regular entrees. I had the salmon entree and it was fabulous. He had the seafood scampi and complained it was overly seasoned with garlic. He would rather have his seafood scampi without the bother of shells - he’s not impressed by that kind of presentation. Prices are reasonable relatively speaking. You can definitely eat cheaper in siesta key but you won’t find as creative a menu for the price anywhere there. Now, I have to say we had a bad server. She was attentive, we never waited or went without but she had no personality at all and acted like she didn’t want to be there. She was a bit of a downer. I don’t think we’d go back for dinner, maybe lunch. The burger at the table next to us looked delicious.

Great atmosphere and decent service. My husband and I never ordered the same thing together but we are big fans of lobster rolls and the waitress stated that it was a big hit and we
should try the truffle fries with it. On presentation it definitely looked like lobster rolls. When we started to eat it it didn't even resemble the taste of lobster meat. There was absolutely no flavor on both rolls. We put salt and pepper on it hoping to change the taste. It did not smell bad or made us sick but it definitely was something that must have been sitting in the fridge for quite a long time. My husband and I are absolutely sure it was not lobster meat though it looked like it. We believe that it was imitation crab meat. The truffle fries were good but nothing special. They were doctored with parsley and a little seasoning. With two lobster rolls, extra truffle fries and four beers the tab came to $72.73 plus a 20% tip that we added on because the waitress gave us good service and it's not her fault that the kitchen cannot make a lobster roll. Definitely not a good first impression of the food. By the way my husband and I have eaten many lobsters in our lives including many, many lobster rolls. If that's what the Cottage passes for lobster roll it should be a minus from theit menu.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your visit to The Cottage. I am so sorry our Lobster Roll was not up to par and that we could not have solved the problem while you were dining with us. We take a great deal of pride in the preparation of our food and would never compromise one of our menu items by illegally advertising something on our menu and then serving anything less. I can assure you the specifications on the lobster meat used in the Lobster Roll are nothing less than American Lobster “Homarus Americanus.” This specific type of lobster is wild caught in traps in the North West Atlantic. Moreover, we thank you for bringing the flavor profile issue to our attention, we will be reviewing our seasoning mixtures to make sure something was not overlooked. We hope you will give us another chance as I know we can do better. Should you have any additional feedback, please feel free to reach out to me directly at kspelman21@gmail.com. Thank you again, Katie Spelman- Operational Assistant.

My husband and I were craving lobster rolls and he stumbled across this place after realizing the Lobster Pot was closed on Sundays and boy was I glad he did. It was big enough for us to share and slapped full of lobster but at market price for a sandwich it better have been. Pricey but worth it.

The food is great and it’s been a favorite restaurant for years … we live in town so we have gone at least one X a month for quite a while. With Siesta Key being so crowded the fact that the restaurant and their sister restaurants offered complimentary valet parking, made the decision to go there an easier one. Recently they started charging for parking which is ok (of course it was better for free) but they inexplicably will not accept cash so there is an unnecessary wait to get your car because a line builds up since everyone has to process a CC.
Personally I think they should offer complimentary parking for patrons of their restaurant (verified with a ticket stamped on one of their restaurants) and all others should pay the $5 …. For those people if they want to require a cc fine. Their new policy was unattractive in 2 ways and tonight when considering where to go for dinner, it was the reason we chose to go elsewhere.

Girrrrrrrrl!!!!! If you want overpriced, low grade food, pick any other touristy looking restaurant in Siesta Key. If you want to live your best life, take your happy aXX to The Cottage and order yourself the Billionaire Burger but change the fries to truffle fries. Oooh girrrrrl, this place is legit! Reasonably priced for a high tourist area. My husband and I went for lunch on our honeymoon. It was magical! Ask for Jenn! She’s the cats meow!!!! 😸

2 Sandwiches, fries, 2 small bowls bisque, dirty bathrooms, lint impacted, rusty fans and water = $75 (eg: WAY OVERPRICED).
After asking for a coffee, server responded, “we don’t have coffee, we only have espresso …. But I can make you iced coffee ….” If you swap salad for fries your sandwich plate goes up $4!
Lobster Bisque was good, but for the money just an average rip. The sandwiches were as expected.
Upon using the unclean facilities, and honest server reported and SHOW’D ME THE COFFEE!” Yes, I think someone lied to me. Very not cool.
So people - really? C’mon !

Three friends and I ate here the other night. They have a beautiful little atrium and live music from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Not overpowering, good sound, and you can easily talk over the music. I had their grouper sandwich with no bread and it was so fresh, spiced perfectly, not too hot. Two in our party had the lobster bisque and they totally raved about it. It’s a good size bowl, you can taste a bit of sherry in it but it’s just the right amount. This soup is also served a couple doors down on the corner, at The Hub.
Service is friendly and very efficient. We will definitely be returning!

The best lunch spot in Siesta Key village. We enjoy the tiki porch! Have nice fans so even on a 90 degree day you stay cool. The grilled chicken and grilled grouper were very well prepared.

We visited The Cottage while on vacation & we had the absolute best experience. Cecelia was our waitress & she was so informative about their whole menu which we really appreciated. The Manager was also super nice & easy to talk to! Go Bearcats!! 😉

We found the menu interesting and opted for two appetizers and one entree. The food was good but portions and price were a little misaligned. We also had a couple of their unique happy hour cocktails; the mojito was okay but just that and if was not happy hour pricing I would have been disappointed as the size was small for a glass with lots of ice and mint leaves. The spicy watermelon drink was interesting. Service was solid to take the order, but had to track down our server to get second appetizer order placed, and then to get and pay the bill. Overall I think it is worth a visit, but ranking and hype made me think it was more special than it was.

Not sure how I’ve overlooked this restaurant all this time! Thankfully, my neighbor recently recommended it. We made it in time for happy hour, and I tried the Jalapeño Watermelon Margarita. It was delicious, not too sweet, and very refreshing! Too many yummy-sounding food choices, so our fabulous server, Cecelia, helped us choose from the tapas menu. We shared the Peruvian ceviche, Mumbai Chicken and Wonton Tuna Tacos.
Everything we ate was outstanding! The ingredients were fresh and combined in interesting, flavorful ways, and the presentation was picture perfect. And did I mention Cecelia was fabulous? Great timing, attention, and attitude! We’ll definitely be back!
