My wife and I dined there this past summer in June and thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. While visiting Sarasota and its surrounding areas, we saw this restaurant online, and being a fan of the Grateful Dead, we saw the emblem and decided to go. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor seating is in a garden area with many tables. Indoor seating is nice, but the walls should have more pictures or records on the wall (perhaps some record covers).
The menu has a variety of breakfast and lunch items with names of popular songs. I recommend the Tuna Melt, the Benedict's, the iced mocha cappuccino, and many other items on the menu.
The sell Grateful Dead Like shirts - showing the Dancing Bears with their logo of the Sun Garden Cafe at a reasonable price. I love my shirts from there, especially because they are super comfortable.
All the servers there are kind and offer great service. One MAJOR shout out is to BIANCA. She is our favorite server. When we ate there in June she was our server on 2 different occasions, and this past week we went twice. One day, Bianca was off, so we had to come back (after we ate), one day before we headed back to Miami. We were able to see her and enjoy 1 last meal before our vacation was over.

Headed to Siesta for a weekend visit and the owner of the resort we are staying at recommended Sun Garden Cafe for breakfast. GREAT recommendation. We ate here twice....the first day we had about a 15 minute wait for a table and ate inside; the second day we had less than a 5 minute wait and enjoyed a table outside.
Both breakfasts were wonderful. My husband enjoyed a make your own omelet with bacon, sausage, mushrooms and cheese on day one and I had to try the biscuits and gravy made with turkey sausage and an egg. Both were extremely good. Day two my husband enjoyed the croissant breakfast sandwich (it was huge) and I went for the waffle with ham. It's a weekend getaway so it was ok to splurge, right?!?
Staff was super friendly and efficient and we'd definitely eat here again.
Thanks for the great meals!

We had a fabulous breakfast on the umbrella covered patio with attentive and friendly service. The food is delicious with generous portions. It is a bit pricey for a breakfast menu, but sometimes you have to splurge for quality, homemade food with a wonderful outdoor ambience.

We have been here 3 times in our 2 visits to Siesta Key, with 5 people and everyone of us have loved the meals we got, both lunch and breakfast. I do not think there is anything on your menu that wouldn't be a good choice. Make sure to stop here on your visit to siesta key, you will not be disappointed.

This place offers a ton of different eggs benedict varieties along with other breatkfast choices. I highly recommend the Cajun benedict with crab, crawfish, and shrimp! Very delicious. Service was a bit slow but they were extremely busy. Overall we'd recommend this place and try it again.

We've eaten breakfast at the Sun Garden Cafe twice in the past two weeks, and were always lucky enough to get a seat outside. Such a pleasant place to hang out! The menu is strong on traditional breakfast dishes, but they also have a couple of special items to spice things up. Everything we've ordered there has been excellent and the service smooth and effortless. One of our favorite places!

I am hooked on the bikini bagel. It has a very generous portion of avocado, bean spouts, fresh ripe red tomato, pesto, and turkey sausage all served on a tasty bagel.
I've been back 3 times in a week!

One of us ordered the biscuits and gravy. We were told there was sausage in the gravy, if that is so it was very well disguised as the sausage was not obvious. The pancakes were not very good. The order of eggs Benedict was good. I think we should have tried a salad or sandwich. I cannot recommend breakfast unless you stick to the eggs Benedict.

Had a great folded omelet with fresh ingredients. Other friend had a lite bite: bacon and a bagel. He asked for his bacon soft, and it wasn’t. My husband had the chicken and waffles with a spicy sauce. Coffee was ok... nothing special.

Traveling with friends, we were looking for some lighter fare off the main drag in Siesta Village when I spotted this place. We weren’t disappointed. I eat a whole food plant based diet and ordered the veggie shawarma minus the feta and it was so so good! Good service and good food = perfect!

Six of us enjoyed a Sunday brunch here on the pleasant outdoor patio. We began with a huge sticky bun with tons of vanilla icing. It was definitely too large for one person and is meant to be shared. The menu is large with a variety of breakfast and lunch options. There are also daily specials. Entrees were generous and delicious. I especially enjoyed the chicken salad sandwich on a croissant. Others had salads, wraps and a fish sandwich. A very good brunch!

Sun Garden Cafe has won several awards in recent years, including "Best Breakfast" and "Best Lunch" and "Best Outdoor Dining" and "Best Bacon." From out standpoint, it also wins an award for "Most Convenient," only a short drive from condominium on Siesta Key. Located at 210 Avenida Madera in Siesta Key Village, Florida, off Ocean Boulevard, this pet friendly venue is open from 7:30 to 1:30 daily. It is habit forming. Depending on how hot it is and how soon we choose to leave the beach, my wife and I will stop at Sun Garden Cafe for a late breakfast or lunch. Breakfast is my favorite. I start with a large glass of fresh squeezed orange juice, a bowl of steel cut oatmeal with brown sugar and raisins and a sticky bun with vanilla icing. For a main course, I can't pass up a plate of traditional Eggs Benedict with poached eggs and Canadian bacon on an English muffin and smothered with hollandaise sauce. Meanwhile, my wife starts with a strawberry smoothie and a bowl of fresh fruit. Then she indulges in the house's A.M. Cobbler, two scrambled eggs with ham, onions, cheddar cheese, potatoes and gravy with a biscuit topping. Others might prefer two of the house's signature items, banana pancakes or the Sun Garden omelet. But you can't go wrong with traditional Eggs Benedict.

This hidden gem has a delightful patio for outside dining . Just Delicious. For starters: the starter sticky bun is HUGE with a dollop of icing, and so wonderfully sweet. Add coffee and some fruit and you have breakfast.

We enjoyed our breakfast at the Sun Garden Cafe. We were asked if we wished to sit inside or outside, and we opted for outside as it was very shaded. Our server was Missy, and she was very attentive and very welcoming. I had the 'kitchen sink' omelet and was able to customize it as I wished. A fluffy biscuit and creamy enough Charleston grits completed my breakfast. My daughter loved her French toast, and I think my other daughter had granola. My husband opted for the sticky bun and they are not shy about the vanilla icing. All was great!
