Outstanding service

Accommodated our large family gathering for breakfast quickly and effortlessly. Servers went above and beyond for us. Food choices were typical breakfast fare but all was served hot and presented nicely by smiling people!

Halibut better than Alaska

My spouse and I had lunch of scrumptious crab cakes and I had the best halibut ever with tender asparagus and carmelized onion and crepe brûlée for dessert, all promptly served by Jason who was outstanding! The next evening joined by adult children we had plank salmon, filet mignon, mussels and halibut with twice baked potatoes and fresh garden salads. All was outstanding and served by a different Jason. We got to stay at Inn on the Lake, a charming hotel experience, enjoyed the delicious served at yor table complementary breakfast scrambled eggs, bacon, wheat toast and potatoes and generous tasty French Toast. We will drive out of our to get back here as soon and often as possible!

Excellent service and excellent food!

I took my family to Chicanes yesterday evening to celebrate one of my daughters birthdays. There were 8 of us, they gave us our own private room which was wonderfully decorated when we arrived. Our waiter, Jason, was very attentive and professional, providing us with excellent service and recommendations for meals and desserts.

Birthday Celebration

Probably the best fine dining restaurant in Sebring. Food and wine were delicious but new server, though pleasant, was not ready to be working independently. And management comping desserts and coffees was hardly enough to make up for missed appetizers, improperly prepared food, no chiller for bottle of wine until manager stepped in . . .

We went there after touring

We went there after touring the murals in lake placid . My wife had the shrimp for appetizer I had the rib bits. The ribs bits were a meal in itself. My wife had a Rüben with fries she said it was great the meat bread mixture was great. I had the Sebring hot brown open face with coleslaw. It was out of this world . The service was great .

Bad service

Went to have dinner & was sat in the bar area. Ordered food right away, 45mintues later no food, no salads or bread. Then waitress came out to tell me what I had ordered they were out of. Ask to speak to manager, he came over said he would look into it. Never seen or talked to the manager again. Everyone else's food that were at the table finally came out. After everyone was done we left & I had to drive home to make my own dinner. What a joke this place has become & they consider themselves fine dining but yet can't get food to there customers or at least try & fix the situation. I would not ever recommend this place again.

Disappointing experience

My wife and I were staying in the hotel and anxious to try the restaurant. It was less than a stellar experience. We did not receive any bread with our salads when we inquired, the server (who was not our waitress) told us it should have been provided with the salads. When I told her it wasn't, she simply walked away without comment. It was obvious that since it wasn't her table she really didn't care. My wife had the Salmon and while prepared well, it hadn't been properly filleted and was full of bones. One section contained a portion of the backbone. Overall it was a disappointing experience and not worth the money.

Never go wrong

Our second time at Chicanes. They did some renovation but food always amazing. Stayed the Inn on the Lakes which breakfast at Chicanes was included. Whether you stay at the hotel or not, make sure you stop at Chicanes at least once

Wow, "nickel and diming"

We have usually had good experiences at Chicane's but our experience over the past weekend left a sour taste in our mouths. There were four of us, two couples. One couple ordered fish dinners, we ordered two of the pasta dishes. We also ordered a full bottle of wine, and my husband ordered what turned out to be a $15 cocktail (kinda high for Sebring). We asked if bread came with our meals, and we were told yes. The bread comes, barely enough for the four of us. When we asked for more, we were told there would be an upcharge. What?? We decided to skip the order. When our meals arrived, my husband and I requested parmesan cheese, usually a non-event at any nice restaurant where the server comes out and grates cheese over your dish. The response..."there is an upcharge for the cheese". What? Why? Because they put what the chef considers adequate cheese on the pasta in the kitchen. We said it wasn't adequate. With that, our server (who was very gracious) went to the kitchen and came back with two small cups of cheese for us, at no charge. But still, why an upcharge? So, we all were looking in amazement at each other about these upcharges for stuff that should be part of the dining experience. Oh, one more thing. Our pasta was over done. Definitely not al dente. Next time, we will bring our own bread and cheese.

Fresh food; great service

We stopped in for a light supper and were seated immediately. Service was only in the bar; the main dining room was closed. Our server was very attentive. The ceasar salad was fresh and the blackened shrimp well seasoned.

Overpriced pub food with lots of cheap filler

It was my second time to Chicanes and what a disappointment! We had booked saying it was for an engagement and could we have a special seat. When we arrived we were told we could have a nice seat by the window but ONLY if we agreed to be done and out by 6:30! What a way to start a special night out!! Then just to ensure we would be gone by 6:30 our service was quite rushed - i.e. we had barely had time for drinks when the appetizer showed up and we were barely done that when dinner showed up. If that wasn't bad enough the food was an even bigger disappointment. Two of us had chicken marsala and the chicken was all of about two bites. The rest of the plate was pasta with a few green beans. My husband had opted for fries vs. pasta but got very few fries and he said they were disappointing at best. how do you mess up fries? I had fried lobster at $42 which was enough for me as I am not a big person. And there was some asparagus which I did enjoy. But the rest of the plate was filled with shoestring either potatoes or onions - couldn't tell. This was not a classy meal - it was little more than pub food with a gourmet restaurant price. Our waitress was pleasant enough and kindly took some photos. but overall, this place serves you pub food and rushes you. Not an enjoyable place to dine.

Disappointed!

The French Onion Soup resembled and tasted more like a Blooming Onion. The House Salad was tired and wilted. The Pork Schnitzel tasted like lemon juice. Our secluded table for two overlooking the lake was terrific. The Creme Brûlée which they presented to us as an Anniversary gift was beautiful. If you only want a romantic atmosphere then you'll be happy here. If you also want great food you will need to go elsewhere.

A great place for an upscale dinner when visiting Sebring FL

My wife and I had a very nice experience at Chicanes. We had a great dinner in a pleasant upscale atmosphere. My wife had Chicken Piccata and I had the Chicken Marsala with a bottle of inexpensive wine (compared to all the wines offered). We also had an appetizer whose name I can't recall exactly, a house speciality filet mignon Rollover, that was outstanding. The service was also noteworthy.

Very Good Dinner

Ate dinner in the bar. Place was packed. It was Tuesday hamburger night. Looked like quite the bargain but I chose a different special. Parmesan crusted fish, mash potatoes and broccoli. It was yummy.

Great appetizer and Hamburger

I had to try the rolled steak appetizer and it was delicious. Then I followed it with a hamburger cooked perfectly and a glass of wine. Although I didn't try much of the menu, other guests assured me the food was great and had a lot of regular locals every night.
