We had our Christmas dinner here, a day early, since they are closed on Christmas, but it was worth it. The staff was very friendly, attentive, and all wore masks. My daughter, son-in-law, and I had the Pesto Pappardelle, and my husband had the Surfing...Deer Gumbo and Gregg's Crab Cakes. Yes, it was a little expensive, but everything was delicious! This was our first time visiting this restaurant, and if we travel back to the area, we will definitely eat there again.More

Another amazing meal! SD is getting it right - social distancing and masks worn by all staff. Our group of four were pleased all the way around! They have amazing cocktails! Started with Dirty Martini, Spa-tini, Cube McGee and a Fire and Ice (which was...SPICY!) For appetizers we ordered the lobster tacos, clothesline bacon and Bloody Mary oysters - the presentation for each was beautiful and the taste even better! For entrees we had Sugarcane scallops, the Chef’s special, Seafood Acadiana and Shrimp Pappardelle (in house made pasta!) and also had a side of coffee roasted heirloom carrots. Everything was delicious! The service was impeccable and our waiter never missed a step. This was my third time visiting here and I will return again and highly recommend this for anyone seeking a high end dining experience.More

We keep coming back to Surfing Deer and are never disappointed. Everything we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. The fish was fresh and delicious . We ordered the grilled fish of the day which was grouper and the Ahi Tuna The cocktails were also...great! We went in June while social distancing was in place. They make an effort to do so , but after 9 or so they get several bachelorette parties that soon make the place packed. A little unnerving.More

Get Clothes Line Bacon appetizer! Beautiful place, great staff, and excellent food! We had drinks, appetizers, entrees, and desert for 3 and total check was $157 (we only had 2 entrees). The meal was worth the price! Seafood Acadiana was really great—spicy sauce with generous...portions of fish, lobster, crawfish tail, shrimp, and andouille sausage. We will go back!More

Visited with another couple for the Happy hour. Got there at 5, when they opened, and a number of couples already waiting. Sat at the bar, and enjoyed various cocktails, beers, and wine. All of us enjoyed the various drinks very much. The variety of...cocktails were different, and enticing. Very nice staff at the bar, and service was quick and efficient. 3 of us ordered quick bites. My wife thought her burger with truffle fries was very good. My sister in law had pot stickers, which she also stated were very good. My brother had fried avocados, which I tried also. We both felt they were good, but avocado flavor was overstated by delicious coating. Only thing we would not order again.More

We had an excellent dinner at Surfing Deer - from the ambience (really beautifully designed), to the service, and of course the food, we could not have been more pleased. Our server, Chuck, was excellent, as were the young men who assisted. I had the...fresh catch special and my husband had the short ribs. Eager to return and work our way down the menu. This is a lovely addition to 30A options, and great for a date night, special celebration, or just a darned good dinner. Really a treat. Although families are welcome here, I would say this is not an ideal place to bring children - get a babysitter and treat yourselves to a night out.More

The space at Surfing Deer is upscale, pretty, glittering. Lots of glass and aluminum. For dinner, I felt that diners (men) would want to wear pants and collared shirt. So, not as casual a place as most beach restaurants. Dinner presentation was, as with the...space, more formal than the typical beach place. It had the feeling of a James Beard Award contender. The prices were about right for this level of service and atmosphere, and in line with a more well known, very touristy location on PCB's Grand Lagoon where you can, I theory, "watch the fleet come in." Complimentary valet parking is available and I suggest you take it, otherwise, you will spend a lot of time looking for a unicorn parking place. The only option for shrimp on the night we dined was fried. Oysters were also fried but a raw appetizer might have been available. The Old Fashioned was very good. My wife had the short ribs which were very tender, served off the bone. If you are looking for a fried shrimp/oyster basket with fries, there are plenty of really good restaurants like that around Seagrove, but this is not that type of place.More
