We stopped for lunch while driving through the Myakka River State Park. The facility was clean and the food was okay. The grilled cheese and homemade chips weren't much to write home about, but the wrap and onion rings were very good. One of the...workers behind the counter wasn't wearing a mask, but the rest were. You order, then pick up food on the patio and sit outside to eat. Beautiful setting next to the lake.More
My wife and I stopped off for lunch at this little cafe, during our visit to the park.Kelly had the chicken salad, while I had the pulled pork sandwich with home made potato chips. Both meals were quite good, the pork sandwich was very tasty....Good variety of meals on the menu: service was prompt and efficient.More
As if the line at the river tour ticket booth wasn’t long enough, the restaurant was equally inept; and the line quite long. On the plus side, the food was surprisingly good. The one young lady who took our order was pleasant enough. However I...watched my food sit in the ‘pass’ waiting for my number to be called. Giving up, I just had to flag someone down to confirm it was my order. That was not necessarily an easy task. Drinks are self serve, no problem there, except the ice tea urn did not have enough tea to quite fill my cup. The grill operator, whose attention I was only able to get after some effort due to her drowning out the needs of customers by wearing some earbuds plugged to her phone, took no effort to get/make some more tea (though she did offer me a soda, which I don’t care for).More
Cafe is inside park which is a great place to visit. I went specifically for the gator bites n alligator stew. I was quite impressed with the taste of both considering it is a small cafe inside the gift shop. Was not too impressed with...the quantity for the price we paid. Since we were there for the experience, it was ok. Read up on "deep hole" where hundreds of alligators hang out n visit this place in the Preserve across the State Park. Only 30 permits issued daily.More
After a hike we were starving so went to this place to eat. They were out of what we wanted so we had one dehydrated cheeseburger, it must have been made the day before, nasty. A Ham Sandwich and the ham tasted bad. The Chicken...Caesar Wrap was so so with the chicken being tough. The homemade Muffins were really bad, stale and hard. The counter staff/cooks were rude, they all seemed to have attitude problems like they didn’t want to be there. They were just talking back and forth as if we were not even there and the cussing was unbelievable. I have never heard counter staff cussing in front of the customers like this. Two of them were having an argument about leaving the wrap off the cake One older one looked really mean looked like there was going to be a fight, On to the gift store part where everything was way overpriced. The same rough looking employee from the cafe had shifted over there, leaning against the counter eating ice cream out of a cup, thought she must have been on her break but she managed to put the ice cream down before ringing up a couple of things, So then we decided to go on this tram. I mentioned to the woman tour guide about the stale food and bad customer service as I thought they were all part of the same and was told that’s normal for that place she said they are always cussing up there in front of customers and agreed about the stale food. YUK, YUK , YUK. So never again if there was an option for ZERO STARS that’s what it should be, thats all folks,More
Talk about southern hospitality. Not only was the food fantastic, the staff was kind and helpful. Quite a surprise for a state park. Local favorites are available like gator bites. Prices are reasonable and the menu is perfect for the venue. You can sit on...the patio and watch the alligators swim around in the canals and lake.More
