We love seafood and were excited to hear that Lotsa Lobster served lots of fresh fish and seafood. The lobsters we had were excellent as were the colossal shrimp. But we won't return. The space is small - there was not limit on number of...customers - although the customers all had masks on and there were only 2 in the store when I arrived. As I left a bunch of people came in together. More importantly, no one behind the counter had a mask on. They are exposing their customers to great risk as we do see a number of shoppers around Sarasota without masks also and the positivity rates here are still very high. Regardless of the quality of their product - they get a terrible rating for putting us at risk.More

I am a lover of all things shellfish. Which is why I am doing this review. The other day I had a serious craving for lobsta! I bought two one for me and my Dad. I bought some large ones for celebration. I ordered over...the phone and had them prepare them at the shop. We went and picked them up. I was greeted by an angsty looking tough-gal. We paid the 80+ dollars and brought them home. Prepared the table and condiments. Upon cracking the claw a RIDICULOUS amount of water came out. I'm talking the amount of water that would fill the claw cavity... The amount of meat on that three pound lobster was LAUGHABLE. I don't know what the deal was maybe they were frozen or something? Either way if you're going to buy a lobster I would pick it out before purchase. Mistakes were made.More

None of the staff wore masks when we visited the market. We bought 4 different types of fish. This is a market where you buy fish / seafood and take it home to cook. Tried the swordfish last night - which was absolutely great. Just...wish they were more thoughtful about protecting their customers and I would have rated it a 5.More

We purchased 2 - 2# steamed lobsters for a Friday night treat and were we disappointed. Mine had a very musty off taste and smell. The claw meat was mealy and the tail so tough it was almost inedible. My wife's tasted a bit better...but she could not eat the tail meat as it too was very tough.Absolutely terrible. This is our second purchase from them and it will be our last. We're from the northeast and appreciate how good lobster can be, shame that it is not available from a place called Lotsa Lobster.More

We were in the mood for lobster and we enjoy eating it alot more when we can be messy in our own kitchen. We had them steam it and crack it. Yum! We reheated it for a few minutes in a pot with a little...boiling water. Try ordering several largish lobsters (2-3 lbs) instead of small (1-1/4 lb). The larger ones are so much easier to get the meat out of. I don't believe they have eat-in service.More

Went to the store to pick out something for New Years Eve dinner. Decided on their jumbo shrimp and crab claws. Excellent , fresh and expensive .. but worth the treat. Family run. Long lines so other people like it too.

If you are looking for fresh fish, this is the place to shop. Always fresh and great service. Check it out and you will not be dissappointed. It is not a restaurant but a fresh fish market with a steamer for lobster and etc.

We expected to get some live lobsters, maybe some advice, then figure it out. Instead, we got lots and lots of great advice on selecting, timing, and cooking; an offer to cook them in various ways for pick-up; the loan of a giant pot; and...candy for the kids. Suzanne was delightful.More

815RichardH, Thank you for stopping by! We LOVE to give good advice to our patrons. We realize that not everyone knows how to cook everything, and sometimes, seafood can be tricky. Our staff really knows their stuff.

The fresh salmon is A1. There are several types and sizes of delicious shrimp. You can get marvelous local fish such as pompano, grouper, etc. There are prepared soups, such as their clam chowder, which cannot be beat. Of course the lobster, which you can...purchase live or let them steam them for you. Always great.More
