The chicken is good, the doughnuts are most likely among the best in town . If you want doughnuts you need to get there at first opening

On premises of Carlisle Inn. Walked over on our final night there, had the dinner buffet. Roast chicken, roast beef, ham,; all kinds of sides and salad bar. Great service from Kelsey.

Buffet breakfast is very good. Way too much food, but good when you're not watching your calories. Service is always pleasant and quick.

I’ve been eating here every few years since 1984 under the various names they have used and it’s always the highlight of my vacation, but this time everything tasted different. Mac n cheese was bland, corn was awful and the beloved peanut butter chocolate pie...was terrible. I never imagined that I would experience anything like this at my favorite restaurant, especially after driving 500 miles to eat here.More

Totally underwhelming food on the lunch buffet. Tasteless, dry turkey, dressing about the quality of Stovetop straight from the package, no cranberry sauce. Ham with considerable visible fat, couldn’t eat more than one bite. Mushy green beans, also inedible. Delicious mashed potatoes.Passable but unremarkable meatloaf...and fried chicken. Reasonably varied salad bar ingredients, far below the quality of Country Buffet or the now defunct Sweet Tomatoes. Buffet for 2 with iced tea, $38.50 before tip. For a few dollars more we could have gone to Yoder’s, an authentic Amish restaurant with delicious homemade food. My first visit here will definitely be my last.More

We were recommended this place by a local couple as being the best Amish food in the area. While the ambiance was nice the food was not. We decided against the buffet due to Covid so we all ordered off the menu. All three of...our meals were awful. My husband got a roast beef Manhattan that was so dry it was almost inedible. The Mac and cheese somehow tasted bitter and my chicken had a very bad taste to it. We didn’t even bother with dessert. We will be sticking with the other Amish place in the area that is always amazing.More

First time we’ve been to the Der Dutchman in about 2 years and still enjoyed it. We stopped in for the Buffet Lunch and the Broasted Chicken. The Buffet Lunch items have not changed much over the last couple of years and we’re still tasty....I go here mostly to get the Broasted Chicken which I found to be very moist and tasty. The restaurant is also very clean and the service is good. I’ll definitely be back and hopefully in less than 2 years!More

Our family loves this place. Home cooked food- gift shop- bakery.. But... on our last visit ( and never realized) they allow smoking right at the front door. Usually we come and go out the side doors but this time went out the front and...yikes- what an awful smell- Really spoiled our enjoyable meal. Don’t know why management allows this.. again - yikes- awful - why???More
