This is a great Italian restaurant, very attractive and great food. It is very conveniently located near The Ringling complex and not far from the airport and nearby hotels. Reasonably priced, too. Next time in the area, we will return here for dinner!

Evening began ok. Waitress took a while getting to the table. Drinks came, salad and bread. Appetizer was next and not as expected. Looked like a lunch sandwich for two. Way too big for an appetizer, but was delicious. Both main entries came and thats...were the problems began. Eggplant parmesan...I've had it many places and dozens of times. This eggplant was a blackish-grey and had an odd flavor (yes under the sauce and cheese & came with a lemon and red bell peppers stripes as garnish???). My son got a seafood pasta dish with crabmeat on top. The crab was a beige color and he immediately looked at it like there was a problem. He tasted it and told me couldn't eat it. He pushed the crabmeat to the side and said he would eat the rest. The waitress came and asked how our food was and I explained that I didn't care for my meal. She offered something else, but my stomach was turning at this point from the few bites that I took, so I declined. She asked my son if he didn't like the crabmeat. He was being very polite and said he thought it should be white. She said several times that they get their crabmeat from sysco, the color was usual and that it's real crabmeat and not imitation. He was getting frustrated and told her he would just eat the pasta. She did not offer him anything nor did he ask. He didn't eat it. We thought he could get sick if the seafood was bad. We sat there for roughly 10-15 doin nothing, with no plates in front fo us (we move his plate to the opposite side of the table), before she came back...with our bill. She had taken my food off and showed me that. Then proceeded to take my son's full plate/bowl of food away. Never made mention of a box or something else or anything. I left money on the table with the bill and we proceeded to leave. My son wanted to get some of their salad dressing that was for sale at the front door. Our waitress happened to be right there. She rang it up and was talking with two other employees at the time. No one mentioned his food, our meals, thank you for coming, have a good night, kiss my a--, nothing. It happened to be my sons 20th birthday and this is where he asked to go. Huge disappointment!! He and I have both been here before with no complaints. This was a terrible experience and feel no need to return. Their food and service has declined drastically since our last visits.More

My wife and I went on Easter Sunday Don’t know why we had never been here before. It was a terrific meal. We were greeted very warmly by the owner. We started with a shrimp and calamari appetizer. Both were lightly breaded and very tasty....We both had the Chicken Marsala with angel hair pasta- cooked perfectly. Every one working made us feel very welcome. Will definitely be back very soon.More

What a nice slice of authentic Italian food. The bar is great place to hang out and mingle with locals! You can't go wrong coming here. I drank the house Pinot Noir and had an excellent pasta meal. If you're in town, you have to...enjoy the atmosphere. Next to the airport, and the pasta is very good.More

My wife and I were in town and looking for a new place and we came across Primo! It has a very charming atmosphere with all kinds of pictures from Italy. The restaurant is owned by Maurizio and Michelle. He is an old school Italian...chef that has a background in multiple cuisines and has been all over the world cooking. The love for his food comes out and what they bring you. We started out with a Caprese salad that was excellent. It had Capers on it and in the middle that had arugula and pickled onions and it was very very good. We followed that with house salad with a homemade dressing that was very nice. Then we had an order of the handmade meatballs which were incredibly tasty. Sometimes you get meatballs and meatballs themselves don't have much flavor but these meatballs swimming in their homemade marinara sauce word very tasty. For our main course my wife had pumpkin ravioli with butter and sage. It was very rich but very very tasty. I had the octopus and I have to say that it was very well prepared. While it was grilled, the octopus still was tender and not cooked tough which is typically how the uninitiated cook it. Had a side of angel hair pasta with marinara sauce. Afterwards we had one of their made in-house cannolis and it was one of the best cannolis I recall eating in a long long time. Over all I have to say this is a great place to go if you want some authentic Italian food. The people were very charming and very nice. We highly endorse it and give it two thumbs up.More

We have been going to Primo for over 20 years. Since the family spaghetti was 10.99. It always has wonderful! We ordered to night the family spaghetti and Tiasmu. My son picked it up for me for dinner. I said how much do I owe you?...He said never mind it was 27.00 plus tip and 5.00 for tip? I said it should of been 22.47. They charged my son card 26.77. with would o beenf the take order with a 20 percent tip. I opened our family spaghetti and all of the meat balls are burnt. Our Tiaamu is frozen. Now before you you start judgeing. I never complain. I took my burnt meatballs and my frozen Tiasmu and head back to Primo. The lady in charge says it customary to charge for more than the customer ordered. At the end of the night my son should see a correct charge for the 22.47.OK! She said it is also customary for the TTiasmu to frozen! OK! What about the burnt meatballls. Oh they are burnt! Would like some new ones! No thank you lady I am cutting my loss now! it so sad it has always been so good. We ordered their once week. I guess it time to find a new place! :(More

I was a regular at Primo before Covid-19 shutdowns began. My wife and I ordered the 2 for $20 carryout special. Her lasagne was good, my eggplant parmigiana was horrible. I've had it before and I always liked it, tonight was the worst ever. It...was mostly a bed of pasta with about three slices of eggplant covered with cheese. My wife did call and give them feedback; they did offer a free meal any item, any time, which was very nice.More
