They have the best fish and chips! Great food for a reasonable price. Friendly staff! So nice to our two wheatens, Marga and Rita. Ate at the Venice location twice and the,Siesta,Key location twice during our month here. (February). Thanks for a great experience each time!

This restaurant is located in a state park on city island. It has a 100 year lease at $1 a year. The non-existent real estate overhead is not reflected in the prices. It is basically a large pier viewing New Pass so the view is great. Boats, jet skis, dolphins and birds. The menu is limited, but often the food... More

We love peel and eat shrimp, and The Salty Dog has the BEST! Consistently good food and service. One of our favorite lunch spots.

The food and service are average, but it's a great spot to hang out. Drink prices are low. Shared a seafood pot...the mussels were under-cooked. The shrimp were good....too much sausage. Other entree sandwiches were average. February is high season in this area and the staff seemed a bit stressed.....

We took cover from a thunderstorm, comforted by margaritas and a marvelous lunch of fried shrimp baskets and oyster po boys. We were on the porch with our dog, ( very welcome there, by the way) but sat at a table near the wall so we stayed dry. The tables close to the edge of the porch has to evacuate...... More

Great place for hot summer days. There is inside seating and outside seating. I brought my pup with me and the kind waitress got her water. Parking is the only downfall, but it's worth the wait if you have to. I had a hot dog and fries. Great service, smiling waitstaff, great food. I come here often.

Arrived a bit early for lunch ... good thing, because it filled up fast. Nice day so we sat outside to watch the water activity. Very nice location. Food was above average and so were the prices. All in all it was worth it.

We stopped here after a day in longboat key and really enjoyed watching the boats come in under the drawbridge at the end of the day. Our waitress was attentive and recommended some fresh amberjack which was fantastic grilled. Would recommend sticking with whatever fish was fresh that day.

We had a great dinner experience at the Old Salty Dog. We got there early enough for a outside table to see the sunset.

How Florida should be...relaxed, not fancy, good food, good service. No reservations...eat inside or out...enjoy the view.
