Always like going, great atmosphere. I would suggest going to the one next to the Mote aquarium. Food is above average but the hotdogs are great.

There is no better place to watch boats, birds and fishermen then the Old Salty Dog. They feature a varied seafood menu, but the standouts are the grouper sandwich, the raw oysters and the peel-and-eat shrimp. ( For me, anyway). Their drinks are excellent, such as the Bloody Mary and others. Service is prompt and efficient. Seating and parking may... More

We tied up our boat here for lunch & what a view! Lunch was good. I recommend the grouper. Seating outdoors is best as long as it isn't a scorcher of a day. Fun atmosphere.

One of my favorite spots to have lunch when I visit the Sarasota area. I have a different type of "Salty Dog" each time I visit. The last time I was there I had the Salty Dog with American Cheese and Chilli. It was wonderful! My family never tries the Salty Dog but love each item that they have had.... More

Doesn't look like much from the outside but the food was fantastic. We we're there for lunch and had the po' boys and the mahi tacos. Great food and great view. Hope to go again!

A good lunch at the Salty Dog. We arrived around 2 so we found parking and no wait. I had the shrimp po boy with cocktail sauce. Served nice and hot. Husband had a salad which he enjoyed also. Fast service, good food, clean bathroom.

When you are this close to the gulf, with a waterfront restaurant, the last thing you serve are cheap, frozen out of the bag, fried shrimp. They may as well have been from the Gorton Fisherman. (Possibly they were.) I ate one, just so I could say I tried it. Tasteless. Everything else was greasy and poor quality. My wife's... More

Go eat here. It's great. Better than anything on the circle and a much better view. Craft beer, grouper sandwiches and quick friendly service.

We've been here before and really enjoyed it but not so much this time we arrived at 5 pm and bar was full. We sat down by the rail at a high top table and asked our server if it was happy hour and she said it was but we had to sit at the bar. I asked if we... More

Serving Sarasota for Over 25 years! The Old Salty Dog first opened its door for business in Siesta Key Village back on November 1st 1986. The owners original concept was to take a small popular village beer and hot dog stand and turn it into a casual Restaurant and Pub. They have mixed the best of the Florida Keys and their British heritage to create a fun family environment that is appealing to people from all walks of life. There are now 2 locations and they are patronized not only by their many regular local customers and characters but they also enjoy abundant new and repeat business from all over the United States and from around the World.
