Popped in here last Sunday at noon to get some croissants to go. Walked in, the older lady behind the counter said bon jour. Then I stood there for about 3-4 minutes before she asked me what I wanted, did I want to dine in...or order to go. I said order to go she said oh it will be about 20 minutes I have a lot of people in front of you. Hum ok there was one guy standing there waiting. I was in a hurry so I said I’ll have to try and come back.More

We just ate here. It was mediocre at best. I had the Autumn salad with chicken.... salad dressing was all at the bottom and to much (I should've asked they put it on the side) Waiter was not very attentive. Good pastry but won't eat...here again.More

We eat here at least weekly, and have for years. The food is always fresh and delicious. The service is very good, no matter who you have. The owners are very nice and friendly also. Great place to either get breakfast, lunch or a mid...day break.More

I have lived in Sarasota for 20 years and I visit this place a few times a week It is one of the only places in town where the pastries are fresh baked and authentic. Most places serve processed corporate crap. Their dinners are reasonably...priced and delicious, in comparison to many of the overpriced mediocre places downtown. It has a laid back family sort of vibe and sometimes they move a bit slowly with their table service which might annoy hyperactive people. Take a breath. Enjoy.More

Regular customer of C'est La Vie since their opening. Wonderful bread and pastry. Croissants, just butter or filled with chocolate, almond or pastry cream, are best I've had, even in Paris. Raisin rolls (Pain aux Raisins) are a wonder of hundreds of layers of delicious...dough and succulent raisins. Full breakfast and lunch menu and now great dinner offerings too. Absolute best bread and pastries in Sarasota. Don't miss this place!More

Bad attitude. The bakery is very good but the owner never fails to surprise me with her consistently sour face. When I first started going I would joke that one was getting the full French experience here. Now, months later, I’ve decided to stop going...to c’est la vie. I lived and married into a french family. I know it well. She represents everything that is not attractive (happy to report, it’s not everyone). You’d think that having an amazing opportunity to have a business in the USA that the one thing she would have learned is how to smile and show some interest in her customers. The rest of the staff are friendly. I can no longer support this business and it has nothing to do with carona virus. In fact, We actually went in to support during this time. Ungrateful.More

The bakery is good but we had to ask to have a table wiped. Every table around us was dirty but the servers stood and talked to each other and waited for orders to come up. Service was adequate but not motivated. Not my first...choice.More

Stopped in for dinner to try something new. We ordered appetizers for dinner with some wine. We started with the Octopus, tough and rubbery. Ordered the Charcuterie plate, expecting cured meats with cheese, came with sliced lunch meat and some prosciutto or other cured ham,...Somebody needs to learn what Charcuterie is before they put it on the menu. They have happy hour house wines that aren't worth any more than the happy hour price, fair quality. Lastly thw waitress seemed to have an attitude, you can do much better than this if you want French food.More

Love the savory crepes at this excellent French restaurant - the real deal! Their menu offers a nice variety. The service was a bit slow - we were there after the lunch rush, so had the sense maybe our waiter was somewhat tired, but others...pitched in to give us attention when needed. Highly recommend the food!More
