I had the crab bisque (very rich and buttery) and the duck (large portion) but the best entrée was probably the butternut squash vegetarian dish that my wife loved. They do good food here, it's an understated but nice restaurant in the theater district, worth...a solid, quiet, romantic night out.More

We were a party of 7 to celebrate Mother’s 95th birthday. Grayson did an excellent job for us. He had the kitchen make the salad special shareable which is unheard of these days. Several had the trout which was a large portion, prepared perfectly. The...steaks were also prepared as specified, so nice to have all entrees delivered as ordered. Mother thrilled, felt special, the candelabra and dessert topped it all. Creme Brûlée is the best. Thank you Grayson and Bjou. Excellent job as always.More

Beautiful decor. Service was very present, but unobtrusive. Shrimp and crab bisque was exquisite. This place is less French and more just high quality, detail-oriented dishes. The cooking style, the seasoning, the presentation, all executed perfectly. I'd give a Michelin star if I could.

We have always enjoyed this restaurant and missed going there for lunch during this pandemic. We ordered takeout and it was perfectly prepared, packaged beautifully, and included the rolls and chocolates that are part of the in-house experience. Everyone was very nice and we are...grateful this gem of a restaurant is in Sarasota.More

Called Monday morning for a Thanksgiving dinner to go for two ( COVID ). I arrived at the scheduled time of 12:30 PM. I had to wait for over a half hour. They couldn't find my name. I realize that Thanksgiving is a busy time,...but people are coming behind me, getting their food and leaving while I'm still waiting. Finally, I mentioned to the valet that I was leaving in five minutes. I realize that I'm not part of their desired affluent clientele. When they found out that I was about to leave, they produced a bag with two containers of whatever miniscule slop that they could muster up quickly. I recommend that you DO NOT EAT THEREMore

The Bijou is an institution in a town with many fine restaurants, because it is a cut above. I am happy to support its reopening on my friend’s birthday. She enjoyed a fine Shiraz, and I had a gin basil smash that was a refreshing...cocktail. The Shrimp Piri had heat but was not a tastebud killer. For our entries, we both ordered a specialty, the rack of lamb, medium rare. And oh, those au gratin potatoes were perfection. For dessert, the carrot cake was creatively deconstructed, with cream cheese filling inside a sweet and gooey treat. Both of us are Covid Cautious, and we sat on the lovely patio, recessed from the sidewalk, to enjoy dinner and the balmy breezes. The tables were appropriately distanced, and our debonair server Grayson wore a mask. The Bijou also has carry out and curbside pickup. If you want to celebrate a special occasion or the joy of being alive, I highly recommend it.More

Wonderful ambiance at this restaurant right across from the Opera House. We ate inside--the outside would be lovely when it's warm enough. The food was delicious and the service marvellous too. This was the second Sarasota restaurant I've visited where no empty dish was cleared...away until everyone had finished eating! This makes such a huge difference to one's enjoyment of a meal in a restaurant.More

I met some friends and we enjoyed a very pleasant lunch outside. We began with a beautifully presented AND tasty paté. Excellent breads accompanied it.Two of us then had the crab salad with chunks of cheese. I thought it was well done but quite expensive,...contrasted to the very reasonable paté. My other friend then had a very popular grilled cheese and mushroom sandwich to which she added bacon and avocado. It was enormous and very gooey. She took half home. Wine were lovely and very French. Service was relaxed snd pleasant. They have valet parking which is helpful.More
