We had a group of 30 in their private room which was very quaint and old world. The food was excellent - loved the pasta, the chicken Marsala and amaretto cake! Must have that cake! Nick and Andre took great care of us. Would highly...recommendMore

Our party of 10 really enjoyed ourselves at this restaurant right in downtown Sarasota. It is about 100 yards from the marina which provides free parking for 3 hours. The service and food were both great. The grilled octopus, eggplant parm and shrimp/crab linguine were...all delicious. We had a great dining experience there.More

After numerous visits to Sarasota, decided to try Café Amici owing to its reputation as a local favourite. On a cold (for SW Florida, that is) November evening, the restaurant was half-full. We liked the quiet and cosy atmosphere and the prompt and courteous service....The drinks — a martini and a margarita — were outstanding, as was the Caesar salad. The bread tasted a bit stale. Main courses: the Pappardelle Bolognese was adequate, while the Braciole & Orecchiette turned out to be a disappointment. For the latter dish, the pasta was undercooked, which really detracted from the taste of the meat and sauce. To round off the meal, had a cappuccino, which was excellent.More

Food was just ok...we've had far better Italian food elsewhere and the noise level was intolerable the entire evening. Everyone was literally shouting to carry on a conversation at their tables. Won't be back.

The atmosphere is quaint with interior or outdoor dining options . Great menu choices and service . The wine list is quite nice as well with all tastes represented and ample . The server was obviously employed at Amici for quite some time and knew...his way around the menu , evening specials and the wine l selections. The appetizers , salads and pasta dishes are crafted with great care assuring the flavor profile remains simple and fresh . We had rigatoni with sausage and truffles , pasta carbonara, veal with potato , shrimp pasta . All entrees were flavorful , hot and delicious . Calamari and shrimp appetizer was simple and average served with marinara . Grilled octopus tentacle was excellent as well as the Gorgonzola salad with spinach ( I requested arugula instead ) Desserts and Espresso martinis finished off the evening . Cannoli and tiramisu of course ! Note: as with most quaint restaurants in Sarasota…. The “noise factor “ inside is very loud and hard to have a conversation if your in a group . Worth a try for sure if you love crafted Italian cuisines .More

My husband and I had a lovely dinner at Cafe Amici. The waiter was terrific - explained the food well, and gave friendly, good service. My appetizer with burrata cheese and proscuitto was out of this world, and my husband enjoyed his salad. My pasta...with crab and shrimp was good although the pasta itself was overdone if you prefer the italian al dente which I do. My husband loved his very generous portion of lasagna. Wine and ambience was delightful.More

Inside was very noisy so we sat outside. Our waiter was very busy but gave us good service. The food was very orginal and delicious. The cost, well it is a little expensive. The wine list was excellent. Parking, not so much. We parked at...the libary and walked a block? So all in all we will go back again, on special occasions.More

This restraunt is extremely over priced for the food they serve. Ordered antipasto for two, two small slices of bread one artichoke heart few chopped olives two tiny pieces of cheese and a few slices of cold cuts mound up on greens to make it...look like a lot, this was not enough for one person $24. Should have been no more than $10 for what they gave us, never again.More

Every City needs a go to classic consistent Italian Restaurant, but Amici is in a National World Class. Service that's impeccable. Waiter advice to customize your experience without opening a menu. Bread Service with nostalgia. Appetizers that blow you away. Salads and homemade pastas and...then Secondi supreme. We will be back #CarlEatsHereMore

We had dinner at Cafe Amici last Friday. We made the reservation on Open Table and it was for my birthday. I brought a very nice bottle of wine for the celebration. We checked-in with our reservation. Our server Alex was very good. 30 minutes...later one of the staff came to our table and asked if we had a reservation. This was a strange encounter and the staff person never checked the reservation records, but went about her business. Our dinner was good. When the bill came there was a $40 corkage fee. I would not call this a "Fine Dining" restaurant. This is the highest corkage fee that we have ever paid and we often bring our own wine, so we have experience with it. After we paid our bill another staff person comes to our table and asks if we were celebrating a birthday. i said yes and the staff person offered no kind words or best wishes. Another strange encounter.More

This restaurant is absolutely terrible. The waiter and the manager were incredibly rude to our group and treated us like crap while we waited for a table. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone until they can improve on their customer service skills. Go...to other restaurants because you’ll be treated better and have better food.More

Cost restaurant right down town. Owned and operated by an Italian. Nice bar, but we sat right down. Good selection of wines and food items. Breads a let down, found better at Publix. Veal chop on the bone was great. Osso bucco was tender but...not hot enough. Desserts were great. Trip Advisor shows $$-$$$ but it’s actually more expensive than that. But we enjoyed it and will be back.More
