Excellent authentic Italian fare, with some creativity! I've traveled to Italy over 25 times, and this is the best I've had in Sarasota. My partner and I have become regulars, and we consistently order the Osso Buco and the Bolognese. Blaire and Sam, bartenders extraordinaire,...always welcome us with smiles and laughter and pour a great cocktail. A wonderful place to relax and enjoy an authentic Italian meal.More

The places looked nice as one of the neighborhood back in NYC however the bread is as the highlight of the meal the parpadelle Bologneae tasted like Spaghettios And the Spaghetti Carbaonara was a mixture of ground bacon instead of pancetta as advertised and the...sauce tasted as American cheese combined with cream. I would like to add that the server and her service was fantastic.More

Authentic Italian dining. I had the Braciole & Orechiette. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was delicious. The beef tasted good, I just didn’t care for tenderloin being shredded. Maybe that’s the traditional Italian way? My husband had osso buco. The pasta that...came with it was outstanding. And he said the meal was “solid”.More

On a Friday night at 7pm we had some friends in town who wanted to go to dinner in downtown, walking distance from their hotel. I didn't have a lot of experience in the area, but I was over hungry and getting moody! We had...nothing in mind, but the first three places we stopped had a 60-90 minute wait. NOT in the cards for me. Cafe Amici had one table available for us. I didn't care what they were serving, it was immediate seating!! Of course it ended up being the BEST meal we have had in a long time!!! Wow!!! Our group had fish, ravioli, and me the short ribs over polenta!!!! Fantastic and great service to boot!!! Thanks Cafe Amici!!!More

Dined here in early February. I had veal and my husband had a pasta dish. We were both underwhelmed. The food quality was nothing special. Our bill before tip was just shy of $200 (including wine). Service was friendly. We both agreed there are far...better options in Sarasota.More

Met four friends for dinner at Café Amici downtown sarasota. The restaurant is small but quaint. met the owner from southern Italy who offered authentic food. The food was outstanding and the service great! However I do not believe they were practicing Appropriate social distancing....Will go back… After Covid.More

Just finished an amazing lunch at this authentic Italian restaurant. We had the chicken milanaise and linguine with clams both were just wonderful, large enough portions for lunch as well as affordable. Our wonderful waiter informed us of fresh tiramisu made this morning we just...had to try it. The tiramisu was light and absolutely wonderful. Thanks for a great lunch out!!! Oh and the focaccia bread was to die for!More

Arrived on time for a 6 pm reservation and it took 20 minutes for the waiter to even take our order. He was totally distracted and kept walking away. It took an hour to get our appetizer and we had to leave before the entrees...ever showed up. Complaining to manager was pointless as he claimed they were busy (not true, the place was half empty when we arrived). Attempts to flag down waiter in the interim were fruitless. Avoid this place; it’s overrated and overpriced for terrible service!More
