We enjoyed our dining experience last night at Guerrero’s thanks to the attentive service by Laura and the various tasty recipes offered by this simple classic cantina serving homemade tamales, Molcajete, roja/verde enchilada and tender grilled steak taco (hat) salad, etc.. Post-meal we visited across the street Guerrero’s little Mexican bakery and grocery store for some pastries, tres leches cake or ? to-go. Recommended for those looking for an extensive real Mexican food menu in FL at a reasonable price.

small old place tucked on a corner in Sarasota. Parking is an issue. Food was good, but they do not have a full-service bar, only wine and beer, which led me to believe that the margaritas are wine-based, so I didn't order one. I could not get a shot of tequila at a Mexican restaurant! Nice taco salad was a good portion.

Nice quiet place, excellent food, and good prices. I always stick with the tacos (can't go wrong). The parking lot is used by several businesses and isn't exactly the best layout so parking can be a bit of a trick but the food makes it well worth it.

I grew up in Southern California and have spent a lot of time in different regions of Mexico. I have tried this place 3 times and have been very disappointed the last 2. Skip this place.

We try to eat here as much as possible. The food is wonderful. The Margaritas are very nice and the cerveza is cold. The bakery is so nice with a very nice selection of breads and sweet treats. They have a Latin market attached to the restaurant with a great selection of hard to find spices and fresh meats. Nearly forgot the ice cream!!

Great food, service and the tacos al pastor are amazing. And their paletas (ice creams) also. Great for friends and family. Their bakery is also very good. Just good confort food.

After eating at the Colombian restaurant nearby, a group of us wanted Mexican pastries. The pastries are varied and very typical of Mexican sweet treats. The grocery part of the store was also loaded with all that a Mexican or a Hispanic would want to prepare their favorite dishes.

The restaurant is not in the typical tourist area, but it was only a 15 minute drive from Long Boat Key, and well worth the drive. The food was excellent and the waitresses were attentive. We picked up some bakery items on the way out. Prices were very reasonable. Good Margaritas!

A friend of Mexican heritage took us here for dinner and we were NOT disappointed. There is no other restaurant in Sarasota or Manatee counties that can provide the authentic tastes that this one does. Do not bother going anywhere else. Go here, then pick up treats for dessert at the adjacent bakery for dessert or tomorrow’s breakfast.

Great lunch, great food. Don’t expect fast food because this is not it. Huge portions in a friendly, homey atmosphere. Plan to take your time. I love this place and it is in my neighborhood.

Met a couple for an early Sunday night dinner at Guerrero's last weekend. I've been going to Guerrero's for years but it was the first visit for my friends. The place was a little busy but we were served fast. We ordered the traditional steak tacos, burritos, sopes, and chimichangas. The tacos were excellent however there was a mistake with the beef burrito. No rice & beans. The kitchen made a mistake which was quickly resolved. Food is prepared to order and hot. Table chips are not the best (very hard) but overall this is a good inexpensive good vibe place to visit. Also Modelo is on tap!

It just doesn’t get any better. I fell in love with the liver and onions. The tacos are to die for. Housemade chips. Don’t forget the pastries. I have been going for months but was hesitant to write a review because I want to keep it a secret! BEST AUTHENTIC MEXICAN IN SARASOTA!

As a regular patron I like the homestyle Mexican offerings; Enjoy the various tacos, the enchelatas, and the steaks and the stuffed peppers; Tap beer and meals are most reasonally priced and the staff friendly. Also since Guerrero's is also a bakery, I always pick up some of the Mexican pastries to take home with me. My most recent visit I ordered the huevos ala Mexicana , lightly scrabled eggs with tomatoes, onions and jalapenos, nicely spicy, served with rice, beans and warm tortillas, Along with a tap glass of Modelo beer it really hit the spot.
