It being our first visit we had no idea what to expect but were pleasantly surprised as the night unfolded. The charm and ambiance was intimate. The staff is very attentive, entertaining and can assist in well informed pairings from the menu. The descriptions on the menu don't do justice to the creative complexities of the dishes. My wife used to... More

Our friends who live in Sarasota told us that Indigenous was the one restaurant we absolutely had to visit during our five day vacation. I read some rave reviews and decided that it would be the perfect place to celebrate my hubby's birthday dinner. Since they don't take Open Table reservations, I called about ten days in advance and was... More

Dinner for 4 last night was fantastic. We all enjoyed the little cheese crackers, and the parmesan beignets were a delight, not to be missed. Three of us had the mushroom bisque, which was superb, 2 had the pork belly, which was spectacular. As I am unable to eat onion and garlic, most menu items are eliminated automatically, and chefs... Date night out with my wife. We had never tried Indigenous before so we went by the reviews in the community and Tripadvisor. The service was prompt, courteous, friendly and fast. The appetizers were outstanding. The fresh fish I she's were soooo good. We had the Cobia and Amberjack. The dishes were well presented and artfully prepared. The prices are... More

The food was really delicious and fresh, but it was an incredibly small menu. I wouldn't come back, simply because there was hardly anything to choose from (maybe 8 options overall, starters & entrees included). I would've appreciated a larger selection! Also, it was pretty expensive considering the three of us only ordered one caesar salad, parmesan bites, and one... More

We had dinner outside and chose the specials. The menu is limited but the specials are distinctive. Very organic and great tasting.

Every bite was delicious. Unique combinations of flavors all blend together harmoniously. We will go back again and again

We were recommended this restaurant by a friend who lives in the area. Indigenous is off the tourist trail I think and you would not necessarily find it if not recommended. It is a converted house with outside dining. Very stylish but the main even is the Mushroom Bisque unbelievably delicious. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The main... More

Perhaps The best restaurant in Sarasota. It is small with half the seating inside an old house and the other half on the patio. The patio is protected from the weather when needed. There is also a small wine bar that does have limited dining seating as well in a separate side building. The food is locally sourced and extraordinaryly... More

Ok, this is not a cheap eats place and the menu is limited...(more wines on the wine list than entrees...I kid you not.) I have to tell you, though, this is an excellent place for a great dinner. Most of the entrees are fish or seafood, I will grant you that. One of our party had the shortribs, and they... More
