Perhaps The best restaurant in Sarasota. It is small with half the seating inside an old house and the other half on the patio. The patio is protected from the weather when needed. There is also a small wine bar that does have limited dining seating as well in a separate side building. The food is locally sourced and extraordinaryly... More

Ok, this is not a cheap eats place and the menu is limited...(more wines on the wine list than entrees...I kid you not.) I have to tell you, though, this is an excellent place for a great dinner. Most of the entrees are fish or seafood, I will grant you that. One of our party had the shortribs, and they... More

Known for their farm to table commitment, each visit is therefore a surprise. A few standard selections are always there, but the specials are what to go for. Add to that a charming dining environment, knowledgable and down to earth staff and fair prices, it just cant be beat.

Since our reservations were botched earlier this year, we've been back twice from the strength of our prior visits. Last week was the latest and thank god it was great: we were with my brother-in-law and sister-in-law. Since so many meals have been lackluster with them I was beginning to think he was a jinx! That wasn't the case Wednesday... More

Went to dinner with friends. The restaurant is cute and past reviews raved about the food but complained about the service - we found the service excellent and everyone working at the restaurant helpful informed & friendly - they couldn't be better. My problem is with the limited menu. Not being a fish eater the only thing I could find was... More

This is a perfect example of what a local, non-franchised restaurant should be. Interesting, tasty, eclectic food served by pleasant staff in a friendly laid back environment. And not too expensive either. Offers both indoor or patio seating but neither is crusty or formal. Great place to chill and enjoy excellent frezh food. If you have a few minutes to... More

I've eaten here 6 times or so and its been great every time. Mushroom bisque is the best I've had. The fresh catches are simple and delicious. I'm a fan of the service as well.

Indigenous is outstanding. Great indoor and outside eating; fabulous menu; creatively prepared high quality food; knowledgeable waitstaff. There is nothing better in Sarasota. James Beard recognized!

It is always a great pleasure to enjoy dinner at Indigenous. To our delight they had cobia on this evening so the three of us ordered it. The flavors were great in this dish and the quantity they gave for $28 was greatly unexpected. Everything we had from salads to desert were all 5 star. We enjoyed our evening so... More

We dined on May 27, 2016. We are locals and this was not our first visit. Our party of 5 included 2 out of town guests. Two of our party were a little late in arriving and our waitress said she would "prefer to wait until they arrived" to tell us the specials. We asked again after a few minutes... More
