This was our first time at this restaurant. We ordered the sturgeon appetizer which was delicious. My husband had the Cobia special with angel hair pasta fried into a crisp pancake - that was delicious too. The shrimp in the Shrimp Bolognese tasted off to me and I could not eat them with confidence. Both the server and another waiter... More

This is undoubtedly the best and most original restaurant in Sarasota. The menu changes with the seasons and the food is always the best available. The mushroom bisque is beyond compare, as are the bignets. The three nightly specials include a vegetarian option and are always excellent. The restaurant is situated in a house on a quiet street and it... More

Took friends from out of town to dinner. They own a very nice restaurant in Virginia. The service was good, food was outstanding. Looking forward to a return visit when I get back to Florida

Celebrated my birthday and couldn't have been more pleased. The Wild Mushroom Bisque was delicious. My husband and I both had the fish specials - grouper and cobia. They were wonderful, flavorful, fresh. I had apple cake and jalapeño ice cream for dessert. Ice cream with a kick was fun. I just made a reservation for a future date to... More

Excellent service and warm atmosphere. Highly recommend the lamb meatballs and the kimchi Caesar to start. The salad has a great balance of flavors. For dinner, the special from the garden was lettuce cups with quinoa, mushroom stuffing. It was divine. Also sampled the house pickled peppers....delicious. A great spot to dine!

Based on TA reviews we decided to try this restaurant and we were not disappointed. It's a charming place that used to be a house, so it's made up of small rooms and an outside patio. We had the parmesan beignets and mushroom bisque to start, they were amazing. We both had the sustainable fish main course that was cooked... More

Indigenous, opened in 2011, has earned a reputation in many culinary circles as the No. 1 restaurant in the Sarasota area. A friend described it as "eclectic," whatever that means. Then I read some reviews. "Pleasantly surprised," one said. "Didn't live up to the hype," another said. Others said "outstanding" and "disappointing." Which is it? Fearing that it might not... More
