2 couples went for lunch. The salad is always delicious. A Cuban sandwich was nothing special. One dish was a pork cutlet which was very tender but way too much sauce on it. Another was a marinated steak which was overly salty and chewy and...the last dish was sliced pork which was tender but the sauce was bland. Disappointed in the food this visit.More
Placed an order to go based off their online menu. The entree’s we ordered were no longer an option so they substituted other entrees that were twice as expensive. The scallops were small, gritty and the breading was awful. Basic iceberg lettuce for an overpriced...salad. The dressing was good. We were not impressed with the food at all. Didn’t eat much of it. $100.00 thrown out the window on this place. I would not recommend this place.More
My husband and I had lunch at Columbian Restaurant and just loved it. They just have it down to a science and such great food and service. Their famous 1915 salad is so good and we ordered a pitcher of the house Sangria. Drank every...drop of it! Next trip will try the Paella, or another type of meal. Place was packed for lunch, even in late August.More
Had a late lunch with family earlier this afternoon. Lunch itself was excellent.
No qualms about returning to the Columbia on St Armand's Circle except for the problem indicated below. Between the red snapper and mahi-mahi main courses and the flan for dessert, food was...delicious.
BIG PROBLEM is with the fraudulent charges that appeared on my credit card within a few hours of our leaving the restaurant. While I would like to return to this particular Columbia (I have eaten at all of them), I will probably not unless the illicit handling of customers' credit cards are prosecuted first by the owners/managers and second by the law. Very disappointed since this has never happened at any Columbia before. Fortunately, the five fraudulent transactions were cancelled.
My advice: Enjoy the repast, but pay in cash! Or better yet, eat elsewhere to avoid being victimized.More
