Cool ambience, laid-back for the quality and delivery of dishes were fantastic! If you’re looking for a no-frills cool bar with good oysters, shrimp, muscles and crawfish this is the place to be!
Food was excellent for a bar, Abom was it wonderful waiter, and...value for the money was perfect!
Looking forward to our next return recommend the Cajun crawfish, jumbo shrimp, for the combo platter!. Enjoy!More
Lived the personal Playlist. “Amy”. The clams were awesome. Only wish I had som crushy bread to soak up that fab garlic butter. Crackers worked in a pinch. Oysters didnt need anything but a squirt of lemon. Bigger gulf coast ones tasted great with the...addition of a lil horseradish. You know oyster livers what I mean. Good oysters stand alone on their lovely liquor. Guys that took care of me at the bar. I felt the love. Thanks. ❤️💋😘 Ill be back!!More
Monk’s is the most legit oyster/steamer bar around. Small establishment and the 3 guys running the shows were BEASTS. Well oiled machine for sure to be able to handle allll the patrons with just 3. Food was excellent and VERY reasonably priced. Tyler knows how...to make some good drinks! Can’t wait to come back!More
Been 3 places this afternoon cruising. This place has the best service, the best steamed seafood AND the best policing of social distancing. Not invasive, just "Welcome, 5 of you? Let's have you sit over here." Pleasant, fast and good pours. Why wouldn't you come...here?More
Why ruin good seafood? We have had really good steamed seafood at other restaurants and at our own home. We found this place to be very disappointing mostly because they completely soak their food in oil. Cheap oil at that. They also serve fake butter...to dip the over steamed crab legs in. The crawfish had soaked up so much oil it was more like drinking them rather than eating. They were left on the plate. We spent $90 and left hungry. One and done.More
I've been going to Monk's for 20 years now. The bartenders are good but waiters have attitudes and the Gulf Gate area has become really bad there. Homeless people in area. Multiple tattoo parlors. Dirty!
