A warm welcome to Dolce Italia, celebrating our fourth anniversary. Four years ago we opened with the dream of creating a little gathering place to enjoy good food and good company. You have helped us realize our dream, and we wish to thank you by providing our very best hospitality, ambiance and flavor. We came here from Ischia, Italy to share our passion for creating wholesome Italian Cuisine from our own family traditions. In return, you made us feel like a part of a big happy family here, so we don't miss our Ischia so much. My father created the sculpture of the enchanted Castle Aragonese on our wall to remind us of the beautiful place we were born and raised. Over the last four years,

Great meal here in a comfortable, special atmosphere where we were treated as very welcome dinner guests in a gracious hosts' dining room. Seemed a throwback to another time when a welcoming attitude toward guests was an integrated core value.
An unforgettable experience! The owner and chef will make you feel as though you are visiting family. The food is handcrafted to perfection. The environment is welcoming and comfortable. It is a small restaurant so make sure you make reservations. By the time we left...More
Over the years we've been to many Italian restaurants both in the US and Italy. In fact one of the best was in Paris.
Dolce Italia matches the best.
It's a small place and reservations are highly suggested.

As my fiance loves Italian, we decided to mix things up and try Dolce. Most of the restaurants we have visited when we go to Gulfgate are great, but Dolce is exceptional. The staff is attentive and our entire meal was heavenly. We will definitely...More

For the fourteenth year in a row, my family has celebrated our spring vacation in Sarasota. While its famously beautiful beach keeps calling us back for fun in the sun, one restaurant has been the culinary highlight of our visit for the past seven of...More
Wonderful pasta, particularly the sauce.
Service is excellent and dishes arrive both promptly and (importantly) hot. The wine list is limited but quite eclectic.
The area is unusual, a variety of small, really small, retail operations with several restaurants populate the area.
Great freshly made meal with super host family run restaurant.
Super bread and olive oil as free app along with great wine selection. The desert with strawberries and a lemon falvoured whipping cream was out of this world; top 5 desserts we've ever had.
I hope you don’t think my review was BS. If you’ve dined there four times and have met the owner, you must know I’m sincere in my praise. My wife guessed San Marzano tomatoes in the sauce, because we grow and use them at... More
I hope you don’t think my review was BS. If you’ve dined there four times and have met the owner, you must know I’m sincere in my praise. My wife guessed San Marzano tomatoes in the sauce, because we grow and use them at home. The chef was surprised she noticed and confirmed it.
Generally food in Italy tastes nothing like “Italian” food in the US, but this place is the closest we’ve ever tasted state-side. We’ve dined everywhere from the Amalfi Coast to Portofino and Roma, Firenze, Venezia. I only wish Dolce Italia wasn’t 1,000 from home. It was a wonderful find during a great vacation.
