Without question, the undisputed best restaurant in Sarasota. Always top-ranked in the reviews, but the reasons are many...first, the manager/Hostess Tiffany is legendary...crazy/funny/charming/hardest-working gal in the restaurant biz...makes u feel like you’re the most important person in the room, and she’s the reason why they...have a winning formula. And then there’s Lauren (“LaLa”), our bartender/waitress...outstanding, be sure to ask for her! That’s what service is all about. Next up, ambiance...second to none...coolest place I’ve ever been in...talk about the perfect combo between casual/laid-back seafood place but still kinda/slightly upscale...perfect balance. Lastly, of course, the menu...awesome! There is nothing you can order you won’t love, from top-notch clam chowder to skamp fish and everything in between. Where has this place been all of my life? Instant huge fan, mostly thanks to Tiffany, LaLa, a fantastic atmosphere, and great food. Two major thumbs up!More

Excellent meal! Recommend fresh red snapper, my husband had their shrimp and grits, both were excellent. Loved the vibe of the restaurant. Friendly staff and great service. Highly recommend!

Owen's had been recommended and it turned out to be one that we really enjoyed. Fun, casual, fun place and the food was good. We went in Feb. 2021 with the pandemic still a consideration. Governor had just lifted restrictions. It was crowded and we...had to wait and it felt like restaurants felt pre-pandemic. So if that's a concern, you might want to try a different place. If not, go for it! We got there at about 5:30 and still had a wait of about 30 minutes. So go early.More

What a unique and fun dining experience! We were visiting Sarasota for the day and my friend recommended we stop in before heading back to Tampa. A bayou theme we sat outside in a camp type setting and had drinks and listened to a great...southern band play. We ate from the short menu as we couldn’t wait for the dining room menu. The jambalaya was delicious as was the crab cake. The blackened shrimp skewer made outside right in front of you was cooked to perfection. Met some great people and shared a picnic table with them. Just a great unique experience.More

Loved the food in this place. But you have to be here by 4 pm to get outside table or 330 to get inside table. This is our second time. First time was during COVID and it was emptied. Not this Saturday. I really don’t...understand why they don’t have servers outside. You have to offer your food and drinks in the inside bar or very limited menu on the outside bar and you have to pick it up. But food is really good so we will continue coming back but will be there by 330 also visit marina jack great views and food. The best shrimp and grits. Also had fish and chips oyster shooters, fried pickles and fresh oystersMore

Ordered the fish tacos and a few side orders as carryout since we didn't want to wait 3 hours for a table. While the tacos were good, the fish was a bit over cooked. I've had better. - Sure, it's a neat looking place, nice...atmosphere, laid back place, but not worth a 3 hour wait for me. Unless you want to show up at 4pm to have dinner, do it and enjoy. - Otherwise, there are plenty of good options in town that take reservations.More

We considered the following items excellent (5/5): Blackened Scamp, Blackened Grouper, Pecan Crusted Trout, Shrimp and Grits, Collard Greens (especially amazing), Cheesy Grits (also very wonderful), Key Lime Pie and Bourbon Pecan Pie (fresh whipped cream is a nice touch). Would give the following items...4/5: Grilled Romaine Caesar with Fried Shrimp Skewer (just nothing terribly special about it), French Fries and Green Beans. We also got a couple of T-shirt’s and they are good quality and a cool, simple design (it’s what the waiters are wearing). We sat on the front porch for the full menu and it was a very nice location, especially with covid pandemic. However, we walked to the back to check that out and we will definitely request the back outdoor seating next time. Nice subtle live music and smoked oysters and beer. Looking forward to giving that a try. This is one of our favorite restaurants now and we highly recommend. Staff is friendly and so welcoming. By the time we left around 5:00, the place was completely packed and a big line. We also went on a Monday too.More

Not high dining but very good fresh seafood. Nice bar area. Seating is ok. Downside is no reservations so you will wait if you don’t get there early.

First visit and it was a little chaotic figuring out how to order and get food. We ended up with lots of drinks and oysters. The oysters were tasty! We found our groove and ordered our food. When I started eating my shrimp and grits,...all the worries in my life went away.More
