even in summer it's a long wait. bacon, shrimp and oyster poboy is wonderful. cole slaw is not soaked in mayonaise. succotash has a touch of cumin with a nice kick. shrimp and grits are a southern standard. wash it down with a xingu black beer (brazllian)

The restaurant is quaint just like a set in Disney world. You really feel like a florida cracker while enjoying fantastic shrimp and grits and fried fish and fried chicken. Owens is always very good. Don't forget to try to play corn hole outback . My only caution is I think it is impossible to make reservations. They either don't... More

Owen's Fish Camp is always rated among the top 10 restaurants in the Sarasota area by any number of food critics. My wife and I have been reluctant to dine there in the past because they don't accept reservations (except for parties of six) and we aren't the types to sit at the bar and wait for a table. But... Owens is a place for a date, a family or just regular visitors to Sarasota to get the best seafood you can find. Recently went and had a fish called a triple fish....it was amazing. Go early or plan on a wait.

As year round residents, we are regulars at this restaurant since it has a very causal outdoor seat with music, the bar is small but first come first serve if wait is too long, and the tables are close together, but just fine. Why this is a standout in Sarasota is we LOVE fish and we have ALWAYS but amazed... More

We arrived early for dinner and got a parking space and a table quickly. Started with wine and some great sangria. Take some time to look around, because the decorations are really interesting. We had great service with good suggestions. All three of us enjoyed our meals-shrimp and grits, fried basket and the Naked fish. The halibut was excellent. Also,... More

The food was pretty good. My husband and I had the country fried lovster appetizer and it was AMAZING! Best lobster ever and Not incredibly fried tasting. Their key lime pie is to die for. But, the entree was kind of a disappointment. I am going to chalk that up to just a bad choice on my part though. Service... More

From the time we arrived, wee experienced bad service. We waited behind the bar from 10-15 minutes without being greeted my female bartender. Finally she said, "you need to get in line on the side" in a rude way as if we were supposed to know that. So we had to wait another 10 minutes because they only had one... More

My husband and I visit as much as possible! We love Owen's! We refer friends and business colleagues all the time. You must try the fried green tomato salad!

What an awesome experience. Everything was perfect from the minute we arrived. Service and food were excellent. The fresh catch and fish tacos were tasty. We will be back.
