Old Florida restaurant in the Burns Court area. Make sure you check the outside courtyard in the back. We had to wait for table but they had live music . It was trio playing blue grass music. The food and serve was good. They were...busy, but it was worth it.More

This is a restaurant that will remind you of old Florida. It is unpretentious. A kind of come as you are kind of place. The seafood is local, fresh, and unpretentious. I believe what makes Owens so popular is nostalgia. I remember places like this...scattered all over Florida when I was growing up. This is nestled in the ever funky Burns Court so expect parking to be an issue. The place is easily accessible for wheel chairs. Fresh , fresh, fresh is the word here.More

I’ve heard you should get there early. It’s true and it is definitely worth the effort. The tables outside were already filling up at 10 minutes to 4:00. I loved the friendly casual atmosphere. A table next to me noticed I was dining solo and...invited me to join their table. I had the shrimp and grits and a sangria. They had oysters, snails, & mussels. Everything was top notch.More

It's become a habit. Each trip here involves an early dinner (because I hate long waits) and something amazing from this wonderful retreat in a hot city. It has remained on top of its game and the food is always well prepared. Staff are very...pleasant and efficient.More

We just had a wonderful dinner at Owen’s Fish Camp. Even though we got there at 4:25, we still had to wait about 40 minutes for a table inside. There’s a backyard with a tire swing that occupied our 4 and 8 year olds. We...ordered the deviled eggs and fried pickles as appetizers and they were so darn good. The pickles are actual spears, not slices. Our waitress was great - I really appreciated her taking my son’s food allergies seriously and checking with the kitchen. Our kidds’ meals came quickly, and they devoured the fish and chips and the fried shrimp. My husband ordered the fried catfish and I ordered the seared snapper. Both were cooked perfectly. The side of cheese grits were heavenly. I even liked my green beans! The prices were more than reasonable, and they didn’t skimp on portion sizes. We will definitely be back!More

Make sure you get here for opening or there will be a long wait. We came here twice during our stay in Sarasota and the food was delicious. We will definitely return when we are back in Florida!

I love this restaurant! Great food and service. We go at least once every time we’re here on vacation. I always get the fresh fish blackened and 2 sides (grits and green beans are my favs). They don’t take reservations but we’ve never waited that...long. Go early and grab a drink in the back. Highly recommend!More

What a pleasant experience at Owen’s. Food, service and ambiance were all 10/10. Hope was so helpful, kind and knowledgeable. We will be back for sure. The scamp/triple tail were fantastic. Wait tends to be long but go grab a drink and enjoy the back...patio - it’s worth it.More

Food was great and the atmosphere was just as good. I had the fish tacos and the wife had the crab cake meal. Both had great taste and were filling. We took dessert to go. Pecan and Mississippi mud pies hit the spot. Service was...also good.More

Great food but no parking. Last night I paid $12 for 2 hours parking in a lot across the street. Service was great but we were late by 28 minutes and got a $63 parking ticket at 8:23 PM ....parking fees did not stop at...8 like we though was normal for Sarasota, Nope it was a private lot that was 24/7 pay parking. So it cost me $75 for 2:28 minutes.More

This is a very good fish restaurant. It has a fun vibe and a great menu. There is a back patio area where you can wait and grab a drink or some snacks while you wait for your table. But BOY WILL YOU WAIT. We...have tried various nights and there is not a time it is not crowded with several hours waiting. The food is "good" but certainly not worth that kind of wait. Better food available other locations in the area, with less hassle.More

Walking into Owens the first time is a real treat! It’s so unusual and downhomey. You don’t even notice the wait if you’re out in the “backyard”. There’s plenty of cold beer and appetizers available to hold you over if you have a long wait....But don’t eat too much because your meal will be huge and soooo delicious!!! The grouper is my favorite! I would seriously visit Sarasota just to eat there!More
