The three of us enjoyed two Savor Sarasota and one off the menu dinners. The appetizers were flavorful if perhaps a bit too big. The entrees were an excellent rack of lamb and a steak with just the right sides, both very artistically presented. We added a fine pinot noir and a Sauvignon Blanc to complement this wonderful dinner.

First visit to Mattisons 41, initial impression of the restaurant was good. However we could not have been less impressed with the food. We chose pork ragu with gnocchi which was obviously not cooked to order since it arrived too quickly after ordering. The appearance was disappointing too, the whole dish was swimming in what looked like canned tomatoes with a few gnocchi and little or no pork - $54 for two bowls of what looked like store bought ready meal pasta. Definitely won’t be visiting again.

The food, service and atmosphere are wonderful. Whenever we visit the Siesta Key area, Mattison's Forty One is a favorite place to dine. Our server was Shawn and his Tuesday evening recommendation of the Chef's Pasta Special was right on. Wish we could buy his recipe.

I cannot for the life of me believe the people reviewing this place know what good food tastes like or what good service feels like. Especially those reviewing the godawful prime rib, or should I say thick sliced pot roast. Overcooked on the inside, too salty on the outside and did not taste at all like prime rib. Grouper tasted like the marked down fish you get at the grocery that may or may not have been past its safe point to eat. French onion soup is awful. Meatballs are bland and the special was penne. It was special alright. Especial. It was as dry as plain noodles left to dry after boiling and strained. There were a couple of decent things to eat. The baked potato. The bread, even though it didn't arrive at the table until after we were eating our entrees. The shrimp appetizer was actually pretty good. Service was horrible. Had to ask for everything and then when the server ran our card, split check, she put the wrong amount on each card. All this while sitting with the flies beside the parking lot outside even though over half the dining room was empty. Not a chance anyone in our party will ever go back as this was the worst dining experience any of us have ever had in Sarasota. Bradenton, Venice, Tampa or St. Pete for that matter.

We are very sorry to hear about your experience. We pride ourselves on serving menu items made with all-natural antibiotic and hormone free ingredients. Most everything is made from scratch, on site. We hope you will think of this as an off night and give us another chance. Please call the restaurant and ask to speak to a manager to discuss details.

Our waiter was very good and handled the food allergy of my grand son very well . No complaints about the service but the food quality, preparation and taste is bad.
This restaurant is very old and very dark inside . It needs to be renovated .
The bathroom is very dirty.
Invited 3 guests and my grand son to Mattisson on 41 for the first time and was very disappointed.
Remember going to the summer house brunch in Siesta key many years ago when Mr Paul Mattisson was the chef and it was always excellent. What happen ?
We spent over $ 270 for 3 adults and a child with one bottle of wine and we were extremely disappointed.
When I asked the waiter where the grouper come from he told me it was local. When I asked the restaurant manager he told me it came from Orlando ?
The grouper piccata that was served to us was mushy, grey and dried up. Real Grouper Is usually white, flaky and very moist when cooked properly . The piece of fish they served us did not look or taste like grouper .
The duck two way dish was very disappointing. I pay extra for this dish and it was not worth it .The roasted duck was dry and the duck confit inedible, over cooked and the sauce very sweet, the sautéed fingerlings potatoes also dried up , the carrot purée and the wilted spinach tasted bad. It seems to me that the plate has been sitting under the heat lamp in the kitchen for a long time. The Chef and his cooks needs some serious training .
The bread was stale and the chocolate dessert had no taste of espresso and also dried.
The strawberry sauce was watery and the strawberries discolored and soggy.
Left the restaurant very disappointed and will never go back. Too many better restaurants in Sarasota.

We celebrated my wife’s 70th birthday at Mattisons Restaurant in Sarasota. We had 36 guests. The food was excellent. They served assorted appetizers and for dinner, “Prime Rib”, mashed potatoes, baked ziti, and grilled vegetables. The only thing better than the food was the great service. The were very courteous and professional with our guests. All our guests complimented me on our choice of Mattison’s for this affair.

We came after Thanksgiving and were very disappointed to hear that the pizzas had been removed from the menu. We've had them in the past and they are delicious. We did have the pasta special. I thought it was good but my wife thought it was so so. Kelly, the bartender is great!

The food was exceptional, had the bruschetta, artichokes, and pork belly appetizer to start!!! The Pot Roast Reconstructed was so delicious along with sampling some other family choices, the Bertha Palmer and the Rosemary honey glazed salmon!! Presentation and flavors, 15 out of 10!! The spicy blackberry margarita is also a wonderful twist for those tequila lovers!! The menu choice has a little bit of everything, but not too overwhelming. Having the grandkids in tow at the birthday celebration, they also have a nice children's menu with a word search activity to keep them occupied.
For those that haven't been, check out Mattison's on 41, a nicely decorated and spacious restaurant with outside seating weather permitting!!
Thanks to our server Sean who definitely catered to all of our needs, certainly a big kudos to the chef!!! And let's not forget Robert the matra-d who's the icing on the cake!
Thanks for a woderful evening celebrating papa's bday get together.

Haven’t been to the restaurant in awhile but visited it on February 22. My son and daughter in law came for a quick visit and my first choice was Mattisons 41, Didn’t disappoint- great atmosphere, great service and great meal.
I’m a hero.
Now that Covid is not such an issue I will make more visits.
My wife just wishes that the menu include more Italian dishes.

We started out with my favorite Artichokes Esther Style and we both had the Corn Beef and Cabbage. Some slices had a lot of fat on it and we had to trim it. Mgr. Don brought us a plate of less fat and more lean slices. It was tender as was the carrots, cabbage and potatoes. We had some cocktails and of course my Green Martini.
Portions were generous both the food and the drinks.
WE loved the new look Mattison's did on the inside of the restaurant but the all black sign outside the restaurant is not good to look at. They should have left it the old way. Light and bright. Alexis our waitress did her best to keep us served at the right pace.

My friend and I organize monthly luncheons for the ladies who live in Esplanade. LWR, FL.
We usually get 40-50 attendees and had 48 Friday, Feb. 11th, 2022, at Mattison's 41, Sarasota, FL.
We worked with Jacque Armstrong, and were so thrilled with the event from start to finish.
The servers, Jay and Ted were a "well oiled" machine!! The manager, Robert, checked on us also.
The food, service, space were all top notch, and we've told Jacque we'll book it again next year!
I'd highly recommend Mattison's 41 for any and all dining.

An okay meal if you don’t want anything special.Food was just mediocre. A good place if you have blue hair. I think Paul Mattison did better in the past, or perhaps some of his other locations have better food.

Excellent food. Waitress Erlinda was over the top. Friendly. Went over items on menu.
Only complaint would be the music. It was night club music. Where this place is very classy.

A short drive south of town is well worth your time. Prompt reservation with a friendly hostess (not all that common) plus a clean, fresh interior, well-spaced service (hate either being rushed OR waiting for the check) and a damn fine prime rib equals the complete package. Good wine list, calamari appetizer above average and fair prices for quality. Enjoy!

Great waitress, good food and music(a bit too loud) I have trouble remembering much more b/c we were there about a month ago. Everyone was happy with their meal. It was surprisingly good and not crowded in there.
