First of all let me say although my reviews indicate my Texas roots...40 yrs.+, initially I was born and brought up in Connecticut so I think I can review Clam Chowder. My grandfather who was born in Connecticut and was the consummate fisherman, clams and chef. His clam chowder was either the heavy Cream version or a wonderful clear broth... More

Had a good fried shrimp/scallop/fish dinner and hubby had salmon. We really liked the breading on the fried food . . .not too heavy. Heard the clam chowder is a 'must order' and we were not disappointed. We also liked the side of slaw. This place is pretty raucous and loud so feel free to bring the crew. Wait staff... More

Getting to Captain Curt's and parking are a challenge. Go at an off time for immediate seating. The clam chowder is the best we have ever had. Pricey at $7.50 a bowl but worth the price. The peel and eat shrimp are also a must have.

Captain Curtis's is a must when we are staying on Siesta Key! The food and drink is always good, and the wait staff is very friendly!

On a recent trip to Siesta Key we decided to try this spot, read reviews and thought it would be OK, but we made a poor choice. Tile fish sandwich cold, burger ordinary, and waitress couldn't wait to slap the check on the table. Won't be recommending this eatery to my friends.
