This started off promissing. The gentleman at the front door got us a seat at the oyster bar wtihout a reservation. Then things went so south, I can't hold my tounge. If I could give ZERO stars I would. First, the couple on the corner...(regulars based on the conversation) left because of poor service. Then Oliver, the oyster chef consistently complained about customers (hey there, customers at the bar can hear you). Then Marsi forgot the wine order (easy mistake) but after picking up our appetizers never came back around. She came out once and went to the four top by the window because she forgot to bring their check. She then stayed in the back again. When she came out at the end I flagged her down and asked for dinner. She said the kitchen closed but she would go see. She came back and said the kitchen said no (at 9:37 p.m.). I asked for my check. She brought the check and said "tonight has been crazy, I hope you will give us another chance' (i.e. I know we screwed up). I told her I owned a hospitality business and found the lack of service to be a problem. When she brought the bill she then stated that she had checked on me multiple times. Which is a lie, so I told her to stop being rude and left. There is no excuse for not checking on your tables and camping in the back. There is no excuse for not checking before close on someone that has just had wine and an appetizer. And beyond all there is NO excuse for lying. My son, doing a college visit tomorrow now gets to go home hungry versus having had dinner. Well done.More
