We do not choose Mexican fare often but we were in a mood for something different. El Toro had good reviews so we gave it a try. The chicken fajitas were the best I've ever had! My husband enjoyed the steak with chili rellenos. Our service was prompt and courteous and the prices are reasonable. It is a small restaurant... More

Went here for the first time this past weekend. The food was just okay. I went with 5 other people and our dinners all came out so spread out. 2 people were almost completely done their meals before 2 of us had even received ours. There were no tamales on the menu which was a bummer because it's my favorite... More

I have dined at Mexican restaurants from the Yucatan to Colorado. This place is definitely in the top 5. Try the ala carte ground beef burrito smothered in green sauce, the cheese and onion enchilada in red sauce and the chili relleno in green sauce. I was in heaven. I wish this place was in New Hampshire!

Found this through Trip Advisor and was delighted on the first visit - attentive server and great vegetarian taco salad (refried beans, no beef); second day's lunch brought disappointment by the vegetarian 'chimichanga' which was more like a soft burrito with large strips of peppers and refried beans rolled inside the tortilla. I think they are relocating to a larger... More

Imagine my surprise to have absolutely awesome New Mexico style cuisine is Sarasota. When my friends said we were going out for Mexican I thought oh boy I don't really want major cheese tonight. That however was certainly not what I experienced! I had the enchilada plate with some of the best red and green sauce ever. One of us... More

We went there to eat Mexican food, instead we had food with a twist of New Mexico. Food was excellent we had chicken fajitas and 2 different plates of enchiladas, everything was good & tasty. I felt we eat food created by human not food bought in bulk then reheated and served. Portion were perfect. Service was also excellent. We... More

Two of Sarasota's best Mexican restaurants are located in the same strip mall. Can't go wrong with either place. For a beverage a limonada was ordered and was head and shoulders above a garden variety lemonade. I ordered the Special Burrito. It was full of steak and beans and took up the length of the platter. The rice was very... More

Excellent Mexican food in Satasota. Being puertorrican a good cook and a foodie I have high expectations of Latin food. Toro Bravo met mu expectativas By farmacéutico. Prompt and good service too. Make reservations! It is small and is almost always full to capacity.

We were here 2 years ago and had good experience. This time the service was friendly but slow. The food was ok but not as good as before. The flan is very good. We will try again after they move.
