About
Chanticleer Eatery is off the beaten path, but well worth the few extra minutes to find! We really put our heart into all that we do at Chanticleer. We make all that we can from scratch and that doesn't mean heat and serve! We bake all of our bread, slow smoke our pulled pork, serve the best prime grade steaks, make our soups with lots of love and of course make our to die for cookies from scratch! We are really passionate about awesome eats, and get so disappointed when we eat food that isn't thoughtful. We hope you can taste the difference at Chanticleer and look forward to serving you, "food worth crowing about"!

We had a wonderful meal here. The staff was super helpful and friendly and the value was great. We’ve spent much more other places and we’re not pleased, but this restaurant was great all around! I had a Cobb salad that was at least 3...meals!More

I had the Chanticleer grilled cheese, the summer salad and carrot cake. I've dined at this restaurant numerous times. The grilled cheese was completely different - wide chunks of bread with very little filling. The summer salad was ok but the fruit was on the...very, very ripe side. The carrot cake, which was always such a standout, was half the size and had ZERO flavor. I took home the leftover cake and my husband said the same thing. No flavor. It also took nearly an hour to get our food.More

Was out driving looking for a nice place to have dinner on our last night in the area. Pulled in here at 8:05 pm. I had checked online and it said they were open till 9pm. When we walked in the first thing the hostess...said was were closed, I was like ok and turned to walk out, then she says oh I am just joking. I wanted to leave right then, I thought that was rude. My husband wanted to stay so we did, it ended up being a huge mistake. Our waiter took over ten minutes to greet us and said oh sorry I got preoccupied with the large table that just came in. (A group of 10 came in after us-wonder if hostess told them they were closed🙄). Me and my husband both ordered salads and asked that they come out first, but came with the food. The salads were basically just a huge pile of carrots on top of a small bed of lettuce. Fries were greasy and cold. The worst was the fish, it was just gross. Tasted like some frozen fish and not a good brand either. Some kind of off brand bought from a budget grocery. Do not eat here. A total waste of $70.More

Mediocre at best. Fresh catch tasted frozen and the “tomato sauce” over the grits tasted like enchilada sauce :( The first wine I ordered tasted old and soured and the second brought to the table was not tasty either. Just not our cup of tea...restaurant I guess. Not sure how it gets such great reviews. Our server was good but not much help on choices.More

This was a total wonderful surprise!! Stopped in…got seated right away & everything we ordered was just fantastic! One of the best meals we have ever had here in Blue Mtn Beach and we have been coming here for 6+ years! All waitstaff were very...attentive & had wonderful food suggestions. Best Mojito here in the beach!!! Will certainly return!More

There was no wait. Every member of the staff was amazing and so friendly. We ordered 2 appetizers and 2 entrees and it is by far the best meal I have made in the past 5 years coming to Blur Mountain beach. Will definitely go...back.More

We have been regular visitors here since they first opened. Under the new ownership, things are different and not as good. Long time staff appears to be gone. Food quality was not the same either. Husband has always loved the Reuben. Meat today was thick...and chunky and not as tasty. I ordered chicken salad sandwich. There was hardly any chicken salad on it. We are so disappointed as this has been our go to for years. May have to find a new spot.More

I ate here twice and both meals were delicious, more than adequate servings and the owner and staff makes you feel right at home. Prices are reasonable and food is made fresh with the best ingredients

Have loved this place for years - always a “must stop” when we are in town. This was our first visit since the new owners and it was a disappointment. Food took too long (45 min), the delicious broccoli cheddar soup was water thin and...had to be exchanged, the chicken bruschetta flatbread has been replaced with very dry chicken bruschetta sandwiches, and the “marinated” steak sandwich was flavorless. We want the old Chanticleer back! We may not visit this one again.More

I ordered a pineapple mojito and the crab cakes. They were definitely some of the best crab cakes I’ve ever eaten. The cilantro rice was a nice compliment to the entree. Delicious food and delightful atmosphere!

Great place for lunch after a morning on the beach. They offer soups, salads, sandwiches and more for lunch. Our group had the Southwest and the Cobb salads. They were huge and covered with great toppings. The Plain Jane grilled cheese with ham and the...chicken salad sandwiches were also great.More

We are part-time locals that have been frequenting Chanticleer for years. It’s been one of our favorite spots for everything from fresh salads to entrees to our very favorite Key Lime Pie. Some of our favorite entrées included the Burgers, pulled pork plate, crabcakes, and...the chicken and rice. We recently learned that the restaurant was sold. We stopped in to get the scoop and learned that the new owners were keeping the same menu Focused on fresh ingredients. During our dinner on 3/8, Donnie was our server and he was excellent. Sadly, The menu was lacking the pulled pork plate and the chicken and rice and only included one burger. The new owners added several seafood items so we decided to give one a go and ordered the mahi-mahi with shrimp and the new chicken entrée. Our meals took a very long time to arrive and Donnie was very apologetic. Our meals were worth the wait and excellent but they just didn’t feel like Chanticleer food. It felt a bit more like fine dining with the presentation and side dishes. Part of the charm and allure of the old Chanticleer was the non fussy and fresh menu. Our biggest disappointment was that they did not have any Key Lime Pie or carrot cake. The new owner did stop by and was receptive to feedback and suggested that they will be bringing back a couple of the old entrées to the dinner menu. We will definitely go back and hope to see some of our old favorites on the menu.More

Out with friends for a nice lunch outside in the patio. Friendly wait staff with a pooch that lives on property but is not a bother. Nice lunch menu. Can find lighter fare.

I hate to praise this place but they keep exceeding expectations. This year by Hubby has only ordered thee Jambalaya. He says it's the best ever and they are not stingy with the shrimp, either - at least 9 each time! This year I have...had the Reuben twice ( always bring 1/2 home it's huge!) the steak sandwich, the Chanticleer grilled cheese ( 1/2 sandwich) with their homemade tomato soup, and the cobb salad. We get a chocolate chip cookie for dessert ( $1.75) and once the bread pudding. If I could rate the food a 6 II would = it's all fabulous.More
