Usually we would not choose a vegetarian, but Sweet Melissa's came highly recommended! We were not disappointed. The gazpacho was perfect! Thick and flavorful and the cauliflower melt was yummy! Service was pleasant and efficient! Would love to return to try another vegetarian dish!

Went based on a prior visit by one in our small group and we were totally pleased from the moment we arrived. Molly our server was bright and attentive and a joy to have taking care of us. Decor is upscale Sanibel, slightly dressy for summer so wear something nice, not beachwear. Menu is very inventive with a couple of... More

Sweet Melissa's had a lot of different food cuisines. My husband, 2 oldest daughters and I got large portions, very good food. My youngest on the other hand didn't find anything she wanted on the menu, so we asked what they had for kids. Our waitress told us pasta or something else. Anyway, my daughter got pasta and the portion... More

Had relatives with me and we came to Sweet Melissa's without reservations. When we arrived it almost appeared closed since there were only a few cars in the parking lot. We had been here before so we went in. They were not very busy which gave my family the feeling it wouldn't be good, but how surprised they all were.... More

The appetizers here are really special! We had the watermelon salad which was a special. It was like and refreshing and really tantalized the taste buds. The beef tartare was incredible! The main courses were very nice. We got the Cobia (was one of their specials) and the scallops. So many interesting flavors mixed together in one dish. Really cool... More

We had an absolutely perfect meal at Sweet Melissas. The server was very professional and understood how to arrange the courses (we tried lots of plates) and how to pace the meal so the food did not arrive too fast or too slow. The fisherman's stew was absolutely amazing. They did not offer a kid's menu for our kids, which... More

Pros: Absolutely wonderful food, ample parking, great atmosphere on the lanai outside Cons: None. We actually thought about eating here more than once in our trip We returned to Sweet Melissa's for dinner during a recent trip to Sanibel, and it was every bit as good as we remembered. Once again, we had a late dinner out on the screened... More

There was so much hype about this place so I couldn't wait to try it. Our service was very slow......It may have been because an older guy continued to keep the waiter at his table chatting so much. Anyway the food wasn't that great either. I ordered the scallops (which were super), but it came with no taste coconut rice... More

It's a very nice restaurant. And apparently very popular. I showed up at 5:30pm on a week day without a reservation and was told that all tables were reserved. Fortunately the bar is still available. I ordered the fishermans stew (half portion) and it was really good. I was very impressed with the food. Despite being on a small island,... More

We ate here for lunch, and all four of our meals were delicious. The crawfish po boy was our favorite. The bread and olive oil that came before the meal was simply amazing! We had to restrain ourselves to keep from filling up on the bread before the meals arrived. I would highly recommend Sweet Melissa's!
