This is hands down the best restaurant on Sanibel. The food is off the charts, the service is great, the manager will stop by tables to check in, and they have a ton of outdoor covered seating. Jake was happy to allow me to do...curbside pickup, which I super appreciated. Hats off to him. The to-go packaging is really impressive with many ingredients packaged separately. My favorites: Yucatán shrimp tacos, Buffalo shrimp with cheddar jalapeño grits, banana leaf snapper, dinkins boil shrimp.More

We are ruined for fish fingers anywhere else...more than enough for two. Carrot cake was devine. Service was friendly and the whole place had a great beach vibe.

Even though it is meant to look old, the building was very clean and well maintained. We almost didn't go there, because they seemed a little uppity when I called to inquire about eating there. But, in the end, we ate their twice during our...one week stay. The food and drinks were good. E verything seemed very fresh. The service was great both times. And, we bought two of the owners' books (he's a writer). I would go there again for sure.More

Had a great family dinner. The food was especially good. The service was great and so was the atmosphere. Cece, our waitress, was the best!

Don't get the Planko Grouper! Husband sent it back and got the Planko Shrimp that I had. Delicious! Bubba was our server and she was awesome! Nice atmosphere and will go here again.

Stopped by for dinner. Nice atmosphere but no COVID social distancing at the bar. My partner had the grouper sandwich which she said was so so. I had the Sanibel Philly cheese sandwich that was so salty it took 3 large glasses of ice tea...to wash it down. We mentioned it to the waitress and the manager comped us desert. Still dinner was a bummer.More

Came for a late lunch on a Monday and not many people there so easy to socially distance. The pulled pork sandwich with slaw on it and fries were good and was a good size Draft beer was $5 and the High 5 IPA from...Ft Myers was good. The fish sandwich was a frozen patty of unknown origin not very good and u have a choice of sides and the beans and rice were good and a good portion prices were reasonable for sandwichesMore

Greasy overpriced and below average. Even the drinks were watery. There are many more places around with much better food than here. I would not recommend.

Visited Doc's for lunch with friends from off island. We all need a Yucatan Shrimp fix! We wore our "Doc Ford's Yucatan Shrimp Shield" aprons to protect our shirts from that great sauce (even Oxi-Clean won't get it out!). I designed the aprons myself and...have offered to let the owner, Marty Harrity, have the design, but he hasn't taken me up on the offer yet! Our server, Margaux, was wonderful! Very attentive, friendly and enjoyable. The meal, as usual, was marvelous! And Marty even compted us a dessert!More

We recently had lunch at this fantastic restaurant. The food, the service and the atmosphere were exceptional. Our server, Chester did an outstanding job. All of our meals were fresh and delicious. You must visit Doc Fords when you are in Sanibel.

I'm not 100% sure... I've never seen pets there but a lot of places on sanibel island are pet friendly. It's best to call them to confirm. Good luck! If you are looking for a great Breakfast/Lunch place, try Over Easy... More
