Non-descript entrance belies the relaxed, authentic beach cafe vibe inside. The service is prompt, friendly, and helpful, with frequent unsolicited refills on our iced tea. The grilled mahi sandwich special on a brioche bun was tasty. The Turkey/cheese/bacon sandwich was very good as well. You will love the unparalleled photo collection of lighthouses from around the world that adorn the walls- and even the bathroom! Good value for lunch for sure. Go off hours between 1-2 and avoid the wait.

Delicious breakfast with a large variety and daily specials. My over-medium eggs were done perfectly, as was the bacon. The rye toast was thick, not flimsy or soggy. I opted for fresh tomato slices instead of potatoes and what a treat. The woman at the next table got coconut hotcakes and I wish I'd ordered them, too. Excellent service by Katie and Cecelia. If we'd had more time, we'd have definitely returned for lunch and/or dinner. The restaurant offers call-ahead seating which I recommend because it gets crowded and I saw waiting lines a few times.

This is a cute little restaurant near the history lighthouse and beach on sanibel island. They have a pretty extensive breakfast and lunch menu and they also serve alcohol (bloody Mary's, mimosas, etc).
The hostess and waitstaff are very pleasant and friendly and the food is quite good. We arrived around 10:15 am and had a 45 minute wait however the time goes fast set there are several stores you can visit while you await your table. You will hear your name called over the speaker while your browse thru the shops. There is also a patisserie and and ice cream shop in the same row of shops.
We enjoyed the Denver omelette and French Toast.

We had breakfast here both days of our short break on Sanibel during the July 4th weekend. Arrived just after opening both days and were seated right away. We both had omelettes the first day (one Denver, one cheddar & bacon) - properly made omelettes, not dried out rolled up egg pancakes like so many restaurants serve. The next day we changed up a little with fried eggs for the DH, blueberry pancakes for me). Big, BIG kudos to Lighthouse Cafe for offering genuine Vermont maple syrup as an option. Our waitress (sorry I didn't get your name, but your smiling blue eyes above the mask should ID you) already knew my coffee preference by the second morning. Folks, this is a small restaurant dealing with a difficult time of mandated limited capacity, so be patient and you will be rewarded.

This is a cozy little hole in the strip mall Spot with truly excellent friendly service and really good food. Sometimes there is a wait. Our party had their specialty French toast, blueberry pancakes, crab cake and a seafood sandwich. They were all very good. The French toast with optional 100% maple syrup and the crab cake seemed to be the standouts as the crab cake was as large as I had ever seen. A really nice meal experience.

We wanted to check out Sanibel, so we decided to grab a bite here. We were pleased to see they serve breakfast during lunch hours. We had the Denver omelet and two egg breakfast. Each came with choice of lighthouse potatoes (home fries with onions), tomatoes or grits, toast and homemade strawberry jam. The potatoes were so good and I dipped my toast in the jam. Both egg varieties were wonderful. We also decided to try the special “cinnamon raisin French toast.” It didn’t come with any sides and wasn’t anything to get excited about. Staff was very friendly and attentive.

Choices are very limited on Sanibel Island for a really good breakfast. We found this one claiming to be "The world's best breakfast"! NOT!!! With a wait of over 40 minutes on a Wednesday morning, we figured this must be pretty good. Finally seated, I ordered eggs Benedict. The sauce was absolutely from a jar and cold. It was so cold it was still jelled and not smoothly running. The grits were instant!!!! We are deep southerners and know the difference between original, quick 5 min-cook, and instant grits!! Neither of these issues were "fixable" due to my description. So, it was not worth complaining about to get corrected. You can't correct poor processed foods. On top of the food qualities being poor, the wait staff treated us as if they were doing us a favor. The one food bright spot was the strawberry preserves. I must compliment the woman who was serving water and bussing tables, for she was the only one with a genuine smile. We'll never return!

The cafe has adequate parking and a convenient location.
The eggs Benedict and the seafood omelet were basic. I did not pick up any “key lime” in my hollandaise sauce. The potatoes were potatoes. No identifiable seasoning.
The mimosa did have fresh squeezed OJ, which seemed to be a waste, when ice and pulp don’t really add to a mimosa, in my opinion. The juice itself was refreshing.
The atmosphere was islandy and cosy and for a tourist trap it really did feel like a local hang out.

I seriously wish I was eating there right now. I HATE breakfast with a passion. So, when my wife said she wanted some, I randomly picked this place by chance and was dreading it. First off, the guy that runs the counter loves his job and was wonderful first thing in the morning. I got the french toast with bacon and toast (so I could try their strawberry preserves). My God, I could have ate the preserves with a spoon. I cleaned my plate and was half tempted to lick it. I honestly might have just become a breakfast person. My wife got the wholewheat pancakes and loved them. It was so good that we came back A SECOND TIME. Me, the guy who hates breakfast, begging to go back. As soon as we got there the guy at the desk immediately recognized me and we got to talking about how good the food was last time. I got the same exact meal and loved it just as much the second time. I will be making this place a tradition to stop at every single time I go to Sanibel. It also has a really cool lighthouse theme inside and the intercom reaches the store next door if you want to shop while you wait. I knew I was going to miss this place, so I got a tervis cup from the cool guy at the counter with their logo on it to remind me of their restaurant everytime I drink from it. Do not pass this place up!!!

Quaint local breakfast place that we picked based on its menu.
I, myself, had the Seafood Benedict - 2 pieces of toast covered with shrimp, scallion crab meat, eggs and alfredo sauce served with home fries. So unique and delicious.
My hubby had an omelet topped with hollandaise sauce and served with home fries and toast. He also was very pleased. Their homemade jelly was devine. Coffee also was amazing.

This is our 2nd favorite breakfast place on the island that we will visit multiple times during our visit. The Coconut French Toast is to die for! It is so good and you definitely leave there stuffed. We love this place and the staff is so nice and friendly. You definitely need to get there early before 8 to get a parking place & table. Things with COVID have caused them to spread out seating and also offering dining outside. It’s well worth the wait for sure! ENJOY ❤️

This place tends to get packed after 10 am!!!
Great local eatery! Ordered Eggs Benedict, it was amazing!!! That hollandaise sauce I could eat it like soup! Mom got the eggs breakfast, the strawberry preserves is freshly made. The grits are made watery, wasn't the best. Hubby got the seafood omelet, he wasn't impressed. Two pieces of shrimp and a whole lot of the Krabmeat. Kids got the pancakes, they were out of this world delicious, golden malted flavor.
Our server was very nice at first, when the line started outside, she seemed to rush us out. This is a very small place.
If you would like to enjoy what you are eating, come early before the crowds start.

Excellent food, excellent service and nice and gracious owner. Always busy, may have to wait, but it's worth it. We had breakfast and our table had the pancakes, the eggs Benedict and the 2 egg breakfast with grits/potatoes and corned beef hash. All were excellent. They also have homemade strawberry preserves that are very good. Definitely recommend and will be eating here again.

If you drive by the Lighthouse Cafe, you'll notice a lot of people waiting outside and there is a reason-the food is exceptional. My girlfriend and I had the fresh squeezed orange juice, the Basil/Tomato/Swiss Cheese Omelette and a Waffle Flour hot cake. Everything was cooked perfectly. Be prepared to wait if you just show up or better yet, call ahead and put your name on the wait list.

I don't know about the "World's Best Breakfast," but it definitely is the Best on the Island!
Wheat toast was real wheat toast and SO delicious with their homemade strawberry preserves (and yes you can buy a jar to take home with you!).
Thick sausage patties and breakfast potatoes were cooked to perfection.
Malted pancakes are delicious--if you've never tried them, they are worth it.
Belgian waffle also quite tasty.
Enough food so you are full and glad you ate there, but not so much that you leave anything on the plate.
Worth the drive to the Lighthouse end of the island!
Service staff are efficient and attentive.
