Il Tesoro is off the beaten path, but on Sanibel Island that means nothing as everything is within minutes. This restaurant is worth finding. Of all the Italian I have eaten in my 61 years, their red sauce was the best. Amazing flavor. Both of our meals were delicious and plentiful. The wine list is small but adequate. One of... More

Seriously, il TESORO is good quality food on the island. We first ate here around 2007 when it first opened. It's off season, there were 3 tables of couples yet food and service was great. My wife had the Chilean Sea Bass and I had the veal Osso buco. Both excellent. We had a caprese and faggotini, which was an... More

Extremely disappointing! Pescatore Rissoto (two meals) were both ruined by the inclusion of rancid lobster tails. They were mushy and smelled like ammonia. Totally inedible. Manager never understood that both dishes were compromised and only brought one replacement after blaming the new cook for his technique. Just as well since the replacement was equally unfit for human consumption. They reduced... More

I sincerely hope the owner reads this honest review. Last night there were only a few tables occupied as it is the off season on Sanibel. This place is overpriced and the food is overall decent but not outstanding. I ordered the polenta with mushrooms and it arrived not as I expected, and rather unappetizing on the plate. Our waiter... We found the atmosphere to be pleasant, the service very good and the food delicious with sizable portions. Will return on future visits.

We've eaten here a few times and it is on our "can't miss" list of restaurants on Sanibel. Love the atmosphere, food and service. The faggottini is an amazing appetizer and the seafood pasta dishes were fresh and wonderful! This is a true gem of a restaurant in Sanibel and we look forward to our next visit.

Our extended family ate here last week. Sanibel is sorely lacking in quality restaurants but this place was absolutely the worst restaurant that I've ever eaten in. None of the food was good and two of the dishes were inedible. Despite mentioning this to our waiter (who was very nice), we were charged for all dishes. Prices were ridiculous for... More

Had dinner here last month with a large party. There wasn't one person in the group who liked their meal. The food is horrible. I very rarely write a negative review for anything but this place really deserved one. The one star we gave it was for the very pleasant waiter!

For years this has been one of our favorite Italian seafood restaurants. The seafood is fresh and cooked to perfection. The ambiance is a tight fit sometimes loud environment. Well worth the wait.

The service here is the most splendid on the island! As soon as we walked in, my mom and I felt like super stars...or old friends...or old friends and super stars! The wait staff is so friendly! We've been coming here every summer for the past three years and every time it is the same! The food is ridiculously delicious!... More
