I was really hungry for something BBQ and found Fuel on Google Maps. I couldn't decide between the brisket or the burnt ends. The gal recommended the burnt ends which came from the brisket. She gave us a sample before and it was delicious. We...ordered Burnt Ends along with potato salad and baked beans. Everything was delicious as was the corn bread and the sample of smoked mac and cheese. We chose to eat inside but sitting outside this former gas station would have been great on this nice afternoon. Totally great experience.More

The fam and I came to Fuel BBQ because of the Reggae & BBQ event. The outside area had the sounds of the islands featuring an awesome local musician along with his co- artist string-bean. I’ve seen this duo perform in the past at the...Sanford square downtown and they are really good. Inside was some cold a/c pumping filled with the delicious smells of bbq. We were all excited to try the food while jamming out to the sounds. The meals come in mini, 4oz, 6oz, and 1/2 lb weighted meats (which is usually how bbq spots function). Then the sides are separate charged from about $2 - $3.49 depending on your selection. I will list the meats I tried along with the sides and what I thought about them. Pulled pork was just ok. It was too dry for me but didn’t taste bad. The brisket was slightly better but also wasn’t tender. However, I did like the smoked taste to it. Now onto the sides: The best side by far were the sting beans! The baked beans, Mac & cheese, and coleslaw were just ok. The potato salad was disappointing. Overall the spot looks cool and has a chill vibe to it. The inside eating area was small but worked. There is a nice looking bar connected to Fuel BBQ and I would like to visit one night because it looks like it could be fun. Overall food is not great but it’s not bad.More

We tried the beef brisket and burnt ends. The burnt ends were good ($7.49 for 4 ounces) but the beef brisket ($7.49 oz) had a lot of fat, this is important as they weigh the meat and mine had a lot of fat, I can't...say if that was considered for the serving. The BBQ beans were good as was the mac and cheese. Sides run from $2.09 and up. We didn't care for the fried okra or sweet potato fries. It is not a fancy place but somewhere you can eat inside or outside. The people were super friendly but I thought we paid a bit much for what we had. You can have your meal served on a bun or served with corn bread on the side. Food is served on a metal tray with plastic silverware.More

Best BBQ I’ve had. Not real fancy, walk up counter, seat yourself inside or outside and bar right next door.

This is probably the best BBQ food in central florida. We were there during a street music festival so it was a bit crowded. I want to go back on a regula weekend night. The people were friendly but there was not much room to...sit during that event.More

I've been to a lot of BBQ places near Orlando (Ellie Lou's, Four Rivers, Pig Floyd, Sonny's...) and this one is the best. It's located next door to The Alley, a nice blues bar with live music. Very good brisket, excellent greens, not too expensive.

Burnt Ends perfect ! Mac n cheese perfect ! Fuel custom Barbecue sauces all have such great layers of flavor . AND are you ready for this - they have DOLE WHIP ! Don’t need to go to Hawaii or Disney to get it anymore.... A-joins The Alley blues club next door and you can take your metal tray of delectable meat over to the club to enjoy the live music. Check website for live music .More

The food is great, but its a bit pricey. I had the brisket, it is comparable to 4 Rivers they are $5 more per half pound. The Ribs were amazing and fell off the bone better than 4 Rivers. The pulled pork was also tasty....I had the smoked mac and cheese and the Collards for sides. We enjoyed both, they were really good, but again the portions seemed small. If I am in downtown Sanford this is one of the better options! I don't understand the bad reviews, the food I had was really good.More

My wife and I had lunch here while in town and were very happy with the food served. The pulled pork and brisket was out of this world. The lunch specials are very good value. Service was fast and friendly.

I recently started working near Fuel and I couldn't help but notice the incredible smell on breaks. My wife and I went to try it the other day and that was a mistake. We got there and were told that they were out of all...meats except the brisket and one kind of pork. So that determined our order immediately. The brisket was super dry and unseasoned. The pork was made with a whiskey bbq sauce that was definitely not worth ordering again. All sides are all a la carte...which would be fine if there were more than two bites in an order. Ordered the okra which was too salty to eat. We also got greens which tasted like they had dropped the sugar bag in the pot. I ended up throwing most of my meal away. My wife ate all of hers because she isn't as picky of an eater, but we still had to go somewhere else to eat immediately because she was still hungry. From now on, I'll just have to enjoy the smell and save myself the disappointment of actually eating it.More

We had heard about Fuel Bbq for a while now and decided to try it. We were greeted by one of the cooks who let us try the meats, since it was our first try. I decided on the ribs and the brisket. The brisket...is good but the ribs are exquisite. They look dry but aren’t. They are crispy and moist and tender and the best damn ribs I’d ever had. The sauces are wonderful and the smoked mac and cheese is not to be missed.More

The venue was very cool-looks like an old gas station, even with sliding garage door. There is outdoor seating but I ate inside. The cashier was well informed of the foods. I got the brisket and the sweet potato fries. Everything was good but have...had a lot better.More

We stopped in for lunch and was served quickly. The burnt ends were the best we've had - moist and tender but not fatty. The Cole slaw was tasty and my son said the beans and collards were great. I noticed they sliced the interior...bands of fat from the brisket and my pork was freshly pulled in nice large hunks. The sweet sauce was not too sweet but had nice tang. We've eaten bbq all over the world and though some previous reviews were not complimentary, I rated today's experience as excellent. I liked the options of ordering several portion sizes of all the meats.More
