I’m so thankful we ate at The Crazy Lobster vs avoiding it based on some online reviews. From the beginning it was a great experience. I made an online reservation, called to confirm just to ensure I had the time correct and responded to the automated text they sent letting me know the table was ready and asked me to confirm. All good. We were promptly sat at a table upon arrival and with water and menus. The server arrived and took drink/appetizer orders. (I don’t understand people complaining about the cost of drinks, as the prices are printed on the menu…don’t order if it’s too expensive!). Drinks were delicious, ranging from sweet tea, beer and vodka. We ordered the fried pickle appetizer and it was delicious. We also had a wedge and house salad, both tasted great and were fresh. For dinner we shared two baskets: catfish and shrimp & fish. Best fish I have had since we arrived. When we mentioned we would be sharing, the server mentioned a $5 up-charge for the extra plate, which was absolutely fine - and appreciate her telling us in advance (although we didn’t mind at all). For dessert we shared a bananas foster cheesecake that was good, but probably would try something different next time. Consensus-We will likely go back before we leave because food was delicious and the service was great. I really feel bad others didn’t enjoy the food and atmosphere because we had a great time. (Bummer I forgot to take a pic but the food looked so great we just started eating!)

Only eat here if you are down there to enjoy the activities otherwise it is only ok and overpriced. Disappointed in the cold Fried Calamari. Manager came out to ask how the food was and I told her Calamari wasn't hot and almost inedible and she told me it was cooked with spices I had to further explain it was cold. I had Mahi Orleans dish and it was good but needed more sauce. If you want to taste alcohol in your drink get the 15.00 option. The kids shrimp was huge for 8.00, our 2 and 4 yr old could have split it, we left a whole one untouched. Also be sure to make reservations which we did. It was fun but could have been better. We were disappointed there were no live lobsters in the tank we sat next too. My son ordered stuffed lobster, we were sure where it came from. May have been previously frozen. Guess they don't feel like they have to be better, people will come.

Family Road trip - so with our kids (12 and 10 y). Very touristic area, nice to walk around. If you get a table upstairs outside you have nice a nice view and most likely some concert (music) you can listen to and watch) Food was good, slightly expensive, quality good. Service was assertive and nice.

Not knowing the area we made a reservation based off of some good reviews and pictures offered online. In addition, we liked the location and felt that there was a good chance that this restaurant was a good bet. We were wrong. This restaurant had a great menu, and prices were about commensurate with other offerings in the area, however the food quality was very poor. We tried the crawfish etouffee, and the lobster fettuccine. Portions were excessive, and upon getting our order we were impressed, this changed however when we tasted it. Service was decent, however drinks went empty for a considerable amount of time once the food was delivered. Staff was friendly and atmosphere was what you would expect from a crab/lobster shack. There are better options in the area and I will avoid the restaurant the next time we visit.

We had reservations at 6:00, arrived about 20 minutes early and was seated promptly upstairs where evidently everyone with children gets seated. Waited about 10 minutes for a waitress who took our order. The order was turned in at 5:50 According to the ticket. We had a 1 year old with us who is a very good baby. She got very restless after the first 30 minutes so I asked if our food was close. She said it was coming right up. 10 minutes later she brought the kids meal out. After another 30 minutes I asked again. She came back and said it got lost in the kitchen due to a printer error and would be 10-15 minutes more. I asked to speak to a manager who apologized and offered us a free drink which we declined. The food finally came out 1 hour and 40 minutes after if was ordered and over half of it was cold! I told the manager I expected them to compensate us for this awful experience and we were given a joke of 10% off. Do not go here if you don’t have all night! We watched 3 other families leave them without eating. I never write bad reviews but don’t want anyone to suffer like we did tonight!

Despite having a reservation, we didn’t get seated immediately and had to wait outside in the Florida humidity. It was a relief to go inside for the air conditioning. Unfortunately, we were taken upstairs where it was unpleasantly hot. We were reseated downstairs at our request, which we appreciated, but there was a bit of an impression that we were being overly demanding. Our waiter was very pleasant and attentive but there were a couple more odd issues. Everyone in our party ordered soup (bisque or gumbo) and an entree. The entrees arrived at our table first and, when we asked about the soup, we were told it was coming soon. Sure enough, it arrived almost immediately so everyone had two dishes in front of them. In addition, the soups were served with packets of plastic utensils that you usually see with takeout orders. When we asked for regular soup spoons we were told they were all out. So we ate our (very good) soup with plastic teaspoons. All the entrees seemed good. Then, when I ordered the key lime pie for dessert, I was told they ran out the evening before and wouldn’t get another shipment until the following day. In sum: the food was good and the service friendly but, if they’re going to charge these prices, customers are entitled to a better overall experience.

Love. LOVE. love. After an absolutely horrible experience at a Destin seafood restaurant the previous night, we were reluctant to order crab legs again. But we were staying at the Sandestin and they had a table open. I can’t even begin to tell you how amazing our meal was. It was perfectly prepared and the servings are massive. The service is top notch. Seriously. Please consider them. Yes. There are restaurants with higher ratings on the water, but you’re paying for location...not food

Here for a wedding and made last minute reservations for dinner and there was no wait so we decided to give it a try. Ordered oysters and never got them so when my entree came out, it was not right. Ordered salad with shrimp and it came out with chicken but because we had waited so long, I just ate it. The chicken was hot but not seasoned. My friend ordered charbroiled oysters (1/2 dozen but they brought a dozen) and she got hers. Crab cakes was her entree order and they were okay. The sweet tea was not good to me. Tasted like it was flavored (which I don’t like) and I just wanted regular sweet tea. We never saw the waitress for refills or checking on us the entire meal so when we got the check, instead of paying with our card we dug out cash so we wouldn’t have to wait any longer to get out of there. Not a good experience at all!

Ordered a crab boil only to be told they did not have cracking utensils. Should inform customers prior to ordering a meal they cannot enjoyable and SAFELY eat. Once lobster cracked, it was SLIMY. We didn’t eat any of it and managed refused to remove from bill or didn’t have authority. Poor management/ownership to put employees in a position where they cannot rectify a situation, I fully expect restaurant to close soon. We have been coming to Sandestin for 6 years. Disgusted by the experience.

Went here for dinner our last night of vacation. Liked that you could make a reservation and didn’t have to wait. We set outside which was nice. There is a fabulous view of the sunset. Food was delicious!!! We all ordered steaks and Surf and Turf. Be sure to order an appetizer because It took a while to get our food but was well worth the wait!!! Our waitress, Mary, did a great job, especially considering she was also the full service bartender so she was trying to wait on us and keep up with a full restaurant ordering drinks. I hope they realize what a great worker they have in her!!

This resturant is also known as "Poppy's Crazy Lobster". They have 7 lunch items for $12.99. They are heavy on the cajon dishes. It is hard to find because it is inside a shopping area and the only parking is outside of this area in a free parking garage. The shopping area is also surrounded with condo's. It is well worth the parking hassles and the walk into the resturant. Their food is great and the servings are large.

Family dinner of four the waiter was very nice , but the food was awful. We ordered snow crab leg legs which were extremely salty. Chicken fettuccine pasta which has no sauce, no flavor, and burned chicken. Pasta creole which had overcooked pasta and undercooked sausage, with some funny tasting shrimp. Don’t go, it is a robbery.

So glad we found this place because I really enjoy it. It's a fun place to go, but you have to go through a gate which, is no problem.... they give a paper pass to display. I deal from restaurant.com brought us in. You may also find deals on Groupon. We had a superb waiter, I believe his name was Dallas and I asked him for a couple recommendations. I ordered the blackened Redfish with asparagus and other veggies, it was excellent. Be sure to order the coconut shrimp as an appetizer you won't be sorry. They have really good prices at their happy hour in the afternoons.

A group of us tried this place for the 1st time. The waiter was fine but we had to wait for about 45 minutes for our lunch. When the food came out, some of the meals were overcooked and dry. The other dishes, tacos, and shrimp were fine.

The Cajun pot was great and it easily served both of us. The gumbo was built on a vey dark roux which tasted more like thick brown gravy, but we are from Texas. Service was an absolute challenge. It was so bad that the waitress and I burst out laughing at one point. There was nothing else we good do, but roll with it. They must be struggling in hiring and keeping people. Strongly suggest you order two drinks and it would make the wait more tolerable.
