We went for happy hour. 1/2 off for appetizers and various wines - which was good deal and good food. Only problem was you ordered all items via phone - that’s ok but when we paid asked for tip - which we did and when statement came through a 15% service charge had been added. There were only 4 of us so it wasn’t added on for large party and nowhere does it say tip already applied. So basically we paid extra 30% for appetizers and drinks!😦😦 so I’d go back but NOT Tip!!

We had dinner here & Few days later lunch. Both times the service was mediocre. The food came out pretty fast but took forever to get my check for dinner & took awhile to get a few bottles of water at lunch. My catfish at dinner was not fresh, but the French fries were. They add 15% tip automatically, which was annoying. We normally tip more, but not when they do that.

Friendly staff and service, easy access for anybody staying or visiting Baytowne Wharf. Happy hour was good, great view of the inter coastal water. We experienced all of the appetizers over a 5 week period. Boom boom Shrimp was my favorite. GREAT rum runners, free pour! We frequented Hammerheads Bar and Grill more than any other establishment and would recommend visiting.

My family (myself, husband and 2 kids) approached the host stand and told her how many in our party. She never smiled or said a word, she just got some menus and walked towards the tables (never said for us to follow or anything). First red flag. We waited for quite some time for our waitress, who also wasn’t a bit friendly. My husband ordered the crab cake po boy and was brought just two crab cakes on a plate. When he asked about this mix-up, the server insisted that was the po boy and even brought the menu over to argue with my husband. Clearly this was the crab cake appetizer. Beautiful views of the harbor and there was great live music when we were there but the terrible service was enough to make us never want to go back.

We were seated in less time than informed which was nice; however, after being seated we waited over 10 minutes before we saw our waitress. She took our drink order as well as our appetizer and entree order. Our drinks were brought promptly but then it was about 25 minutes before our waitress returned (I couldn’t even get anyone’s attention to get my daughter a straw. My nephew had to go to the bar go get one). When she did return she brought us the wrong appetizer. A little bit later she did bring the correct appetizer and our food. Several people had been seated after us and already had their entrees. Our drinks were empty. And the waitress hasn’t noticed or cared. Some of the food was good. Some was below average. The atmosphere was good. Sitting by the marina was nice and cool. The live music was good. My check had a 20% gratuity added to it. I’m not sure if this is customary. Our service didn’t warrant that large of a tip. We had a party of five. I wouldn’t suggest eating here. It’s the only place we have eaten at while on vacation that we have been displeased with. And also they were out of oysters which was why we decided to eat here in the first place.

You order on your phone and food is delivered to table. Food was ok but they add 15% service + ‘resort fee’ to your tab which means servers don’t have to do squat and it shows. Experience not improved by what had to be the loudest, most amateur 2 person band that I’ve had to endure in years- could not hold a conversation and I am a person who enjoys all kinds of music. I wanted to take a hammer to MY head to end the night.

Our last night of family vacation for 6 adults and two small children. We thought about ordering in pizzas, but decided a seafood meal sounded better. We found gift certificates on restaraunt.com for HammerHeads bar and grill. 2 of the adults each bought $100.00 of gift certificates for $40.00. Before purchasing we called to make sure the restaraunt would accept them. They said they did. We got to Hammerheads and seated ourselves and realized to order you had to use an app(go tab) on your phone and order yourself. We started ordering on 2 different phones. 4 people's order on each of the phones. When we both got our orders complete we were ready to pay with our gift certificates. We asked for help and Ashley came over and told us we could each only use 1 of the 25.00 gift certificates for our orders. So we could only use $50.00 of the $200 we had purchased online. After some time she then proceeded to tell us to delete the orders and order individually and we could use a certificate on each order. By this time we had been there ordering for 20 minutes or longer, but if this was how we could use the certificates we would do it. We both put in the first order and the 25.00 certificate was applied, no problem, then disaster ensues for the second orders...neither of us know we have to delete the first order, so the second order is added to the first and Ashley tells us we have to delete and start over. By now 40 minutes has gone by and we have not gotten any drinks or silverware but our first orders come out and 2 of our 8 people are served. By now you get the picture. We have 6 orders left to complete and 2 people are already eating. We both said just charge our credit cards and we wont worry about using the certificates because we just want to get everyone food! We enter all the rest of the orders and the second orders of food come. My order was the last to come at least 20 minutes from the first orders received. Not a good experience. Wait until you see all the extra fees for taxes, resort fees, a service charge and some fee for go tab???? I was so aggravated I could barely stand to eat my food. I am surprised they are not having us cook our own meals at this place. It was a crying shame and we never even got any apology for this debacle of ordering system breakdown. After my family left I stayed behind to speak to the manager, who I find out was Ashley😕. To add insult to this debacle she hands me two receipts and says we owe more money. I think at this point my gaskets blew. She was serious she wanted more money from both of us. $16.58 to be exact, which I reluctantly paid. I guess the moral of this story is we should have ordered in pizza!
Just in case you missed it
We seated ourselves
We ordered ourselves
We were CHARGED a fee for ordering ourselves

The place is nice and great view. But when they say BOIL they mean it. The crab legs are boiled not a hint of flavor at all. It was not what I was expecting after a 1 hour and 30 minites wait it did not help either. I would not eat there again. The other food was good.

We went for an early dinner at 5:00 to avoid any crowds. We were one of two families when we entered. The weather was hot and the restaurant/harbor smelled bad. The hostess arranged for a fan to be placed next to our table which was nice. We ordered drinks, appetizers and meals. They provided bottled water for everyone which we liked and brought out our iced tea but for some reason forgot the kids drinks (Sprite). After asking about it to multiple wait staff, they finally told us they didn’t carry Sierra Mist which we never ordered. The wedge salad they brought out was not cold. The raw oysters on special were bland. They took away the fan they had given us saying they needed it elsewhere. When the brought out the shrimp and crab, they spilled butter over everything and only provided us with plastic utensils to eat it. Every time we would ask for a crab claw cracker, the wait staff would disappear and not come back. There was no way to eat the crab claws without one - especially given the plastic utensils. I was ready to send the meal back because we couldn’t eat it when they finally delivered one. Nothing seemed very fresh. We asked for hand wipes/towelettes which is pretty customary after eating crab and they didn’t have any and had to go to the restaurant next door to get some. This was not a well run or prepared “seafood” restaurant, especially for a meal that ran $150.

We stopped in with the kids and had a great lunch. My fish was delicious and they actually had a crab leg option for the kids which they loved. Waitress was friendly and service overall excellent. Also nice views of the harbor.

My wife and I arrived at Hammerhead around 4:45 to catch the bargains during happy hour, which runs from 4 to 6 pm. We sat on the “rail” where we looked at the marina and had a great seat for the sunset. Oysters are $.50 each and 5 or 6 appetizers are half price. While I didn’t have a main dish my wife had the fried grouper basket which we shared. The only downside is they only have bottled beer but it’s reasonable priced. During happy hour you get $1 off beers and $2 off bar well liquor. All in all it’s a great value and very casual.

To see the menu you have to scan a QR code and then order online! The food was ultra expensive and horrible. My order was $35 for mostly fries in a plastic basket, the fish were nuggets, the crab cakes were dry and mostly breading and I got about 6 small shrimp. The waiter was a bit rude and would not let us split the check and the tip is automatically added and all he did was bring our food someone else took our payment, he was actuallythe only nice person there. They had a horrible singer playing so loud you couldn't talk. My advice is to pass this place by. Worse meal ever!

The waiter could not answer a lot of the questions we had about the menu. We had our food except for two out of the six, he asked all was good, I said no we are still waiting for two of our meals. Then they brought our meals. The kids said there hamburgers were like the frozen Turkey burgers and the bun was still frozen, my husband had the the grouper tacos and he said they were good. The boiled shrimp was ok, a little over cooked and crab clusters were good. The waiter over charged us he charged me for the shrimp and crab legs twice. It was a struggle to get that removed and a even bigger struggle to get the gratuity adjusted. The waiter blamed it on the kitchen which I’m still confused about. The owner/manager was able to adjust and explained finding people with the higher unemployment payments is tough. I’d eat here again if this was the only place open.

Foods were awful and expensive. Service is nonexistent but they charge you 15% for service up front. My son ordered a Dr Pepper and my daughter ordered a Shirley Temple, they brought my son the Dr Pepper with cherry syrup and brought my daughter a Sprite…what the heck. Oh and I should also mention that their hostess was very rude too. Needless to say, save your money and go elsewhere.

The only positives were the great view and the live music. We were really surprised too, since people were lined up every night to get in. They must not have ordered the same dishes that we did. The beer wasn’t cold at all. We ordered popcorn shrimp that resembled corn nuggets. It looked like it came from the frozen section of the grocery store. And speaking of grocery store, the seafood mac and cheese was literally a helping of boxed mac and cheese with a few shrimp and bacon bits sprinkled over the top. And fyi, you order your own food/drink through an app, with an automatic 20% gratuity added.
