On May 11, 2024 in the little town of Lafleche we had “The Bomb” an absolutely fabulous meal at Trigo. Exquisitely prepared Peruvian meal whisking us back to our travels earlier this year. This menu runs till end of July and then they will take a break before introducing their next menu which will feature Austria. Don’t be afraid to take a drive out to the middle of nowhere and have your taste buds overwhelmed by the care and attention Adam puts into every course. They also offer beverages to pair with the cuisine and so a couple of Pisco Sours were part of our meal too. The service matches the food, very attentive, informative making this the best place in Saskatchewan for your next meal.

My husband and I had the incredible good fortune to meet 3 beautiful teachers who help make this restaurant amazing. We were attending the Wood Mountain Rodeo and ended up having Theee BEST experience ever. This restaurant offers more than just a dinner out. They create a full dining experience based on cuisines from different parts of the world. Trust me, these folks will not disappoint. The atmosphere is quaint, the servers are knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly kind. The food was delicious and the drinks of course bang on! Although the menu changes from country to country the overall experience will not disappoint. We can’t wait to get back there again soon. You MUST make a reservation as seating is limited and the menu is preset. You simply show up on time and enjoy your evening.

The Lebanese menu was outstanding. The breads and sauces to accompany them were delicious and varied. The salads and mains were very well-prepared and delicious. It was a great way to get an authentic taste of Middle Eastern food just a short drive from home. The service and entire experience was fantastic, as we were thoroughly educated on the food and the preparation of the wide variety of dishes. Excellent job and we’ll be back again. Well done Adam, Wadena, Karen l, and the rest of the team. Looking forward to our next visit.

Having previously lived in the area, we stopped by for lunch. What my wife and i experienced was the best lunch of our entire road trip We shared a pasta salad and roasted turkey sandwich. Wow, were we blown away!!! Everything was fresh and home made. The bread for our sandwich was absolutely incredible. This restaurant is the reason you go out of your way to drive to Lafleche. You can purchase some of their baked goods at this restaurant. Our only regret was that we did not stick around the area to sample their dinner menu. Such sadness!!! Needless to say, I highly recommend this place. Worth every penny spent and more!!!

A friend and I decided to make the 1.5hr drive for dinner at Trigo after seeing so many of their seasonal menus online. An unforgettable experience! Our server Karen was amazing and so personable. The small restaurant is contemporary and cozy. We had the 7 course French menu and it was delicious. (I was thinking to spare stomach space we would skip the cheese course…DO NOT skip it! Thank god my friend told me we were getting it….It was SO fantastic!) If you live close by and can drink, or have a designated driver, indulge in the huge drink menu. It is extensive, and very affordable compared to most restaurants. It was a wonderful way to spend an evening with my best friend. We will be back, no question! (By the way, the is a B&B and a motel in town for a little getaway.)

The international tasting menu at Trigo was exceptional. The dedication and research that went into creating a culturally immersive experience were truly remarkable. The cuisine and beverages were delightful, making it a culinary journey worth traveling for. We eagerly anticipate our next visit to Trigo.

An outstanding dining experience - and experience is exactly the word. From the moment we booked, with a special seating location request, to the moment we left, with fabulous packaged next-day lunch leftovers in hand, we felt like we were the most special guests they had ever had. Trigo offers seasonal dining menus that reflect a foreign cuisine. The dishes are intriguingly exotic but not so outre that they scare the newbie diner. We were there for the Peruvian menu (ends July 27), and even though the restaurant is in La Flèche, two hours from Regina, it was worth every minute of the drive there and back (local accommodations are available for those who prefer not to drive home late). The multi-course meal started with a complimentary non-alcoholic aperitif typical of the region - it was so good that my mom had a large glass with her meal. This was followed by 3 varieties of seviche, a meat appetizer, and a salad, before we got to the main course. We had a choice of 5 main courses. The portions were so generous that we not only took home leftovers, but were quite full! The meal ended with a scrumptious 3-part dessert and home made chocolates. The cappuccino was great — and may be even better in the months to come as they going to start roasting their own beans. The entire meal was perfectly cooked by charming and engaging lawyer turned chef Adam - who also takes a turn as the chocolatier, and came out to chat with us! Service is by local staff, who are warm and welcoming, and always expanding their knowledge of the dishes and country they come from so that they can explain options and help the guests explore the menu. The restaurant is intimate but can accommodate larger groups - there was a step down section with a family/group of about 10, but most tables are for 2 or 4. For everything you get, the $75/pp price tag is more than reasonable. I have been recommending Trigo to everyone I know since we returned home, and am already planning on returning for my birthday in September, when they will be featuring an Austrian menu (can you say Sacher Torte? AND apfelstrudel?). Highest recommendation!!!

Really, where do I start? This is likely the best restaurant I've ever experienced. Without hyperbole. We enjoyed the Italian, Mexican, and Thai menus so far, and each experience has consistently exceeded our expectations. The staff is highly knowledgable and friendly. For first timers, you'll come to Trigo as a guest and leave as a friend. And the food..... THE FOOD! Prepare for a three-hour dining extravaganza with these multi-course meals. The menu changes every couple of months or so, but the flavours are extraordinary. Chef Adam sources from local producers as much as possible, and his creations are just amazing. Highly recommend, and well worth the drive for anyone out of town (we're lucky enough that Trigo is a short walk from our door!)

It's not very often I make a point of sticking my head in the kitchen to thank the Chef, but I did so here. We drove the two hours from Regina for the seven course Mexican Tasting menu. Well worth it. The restaurant is surprisingly elegant inside it's small town exterior. I believe it was a gas station at one point from the picture on the wall. There were six tables and five of them filled up during the evening while we were there. The first offering was chips and salsa. We really appreciated that the chef made extra salsa without cilantro for my wife (who is one of those people to whom it tastes soapy. There were two salsas and some awesome Escabeche (pickled onions). Second was a Mole tasting, three different Moles, with assorted tortillas for tasting. This was followed by a Tortilla soup, which was very good, if mild. We both added hot sauce - not surprisingly the chef, Adam, makes his own. We bought a bottle to take home. This was followed by an assortment of sopes, corn masa "boats" with various flavours. The shrimp one was excellent. The only minor niggle in the evening was that the waitress warned us the potato ball sope was very spicy, but it wasn't at all. Next was a Jicama salad with apples, oranges and cilantro (and again, Adam had made one without cilantro for my wife). I thought this was excellent and would love to eat it again. Next were the entrees, mine was a Red Snapper a la Veracruzana, my wife had the chicken. She was asked during the mole tasting which mole she wanted on here chicken. The fish was superb, perfectly cooked and the sauce was one of the best I have had. My wife tasted it and agreed (and tried to steal more of it). Finally, dessert which was crepes with goats milk caramel, walnuts and plantain. We were using our fingers to get every drop of the caramel sauce. Interesting selection of cocktails and a large wine list for small town Saskatchewan with very reasonable prices. I hadn't expected to get an Aperol Spritz in LaFleche. Service was good but our waitress, Wadena, was the only one on for five tables, one of six people. Given that she had to explain all the courses she was a bit overwhelmed and they actually called a friend of hers in to help. Apparently there are normally two waitresses on, but the other was unavailable for some reason. The only reason I rated the service as slightly less than perfect. So overall an excellent meal and I should mention that the price for the seven course meal was only $45 per person, a huge bargain. Only open on Friday and Saturday nights. Apparently Adam switches menus every three months and it will be Thai starting in mid-September. We will certainly make the effort to get there.

Worth the 2 hour drive from Regina, SK is this little gem of a restaurant in the small town of Lafleche! Chef Adam takes his time preparing your meal and you will not be disappointed! They change up their theme approximately every 3 months and feature cuisines from around the world! We enjoyed a 7 course Mexican feast that I’m still drooling and dreaming about the next day! Support local, go for a drive and check out this amazing culinary experience!
