I'm not z huge fan of ice cream but when we saw the line out the door we couldn't help but get on the line. My husband had a waffle cone with chocolate ice cream and I had the toasted coconut. To my suprise it...was the best ice cream we have ever had.More
We ate dinner next door and could smell the waffle cones the whole time, so we had to get dessert there. The cones were actually as good as they smelled, and the ice cream was great too! Big portions, even for a single scoop and...they were enforcing mask wearing.More
After walking in with my 5 year old and my face covered the staff told me that they can’t serve me since I don’t have a mask. I didn’t brought one since its not mandatory but I had my shirt covering my mouth and nose....My 5 year old daughter ready for ice cream , eyes locked on it. . They told me they don’t have any and the owner has instructed them not to serve people without a mask- face covered or not. Walked out and got a delicious gelato 4-5 stores down the street . On the way back I witnessed a young man buying ice cream without a mask. Not sure if I was an easy target as a woman with a child or why the “rules”apply only to some customers. I am Registered Nurse who works in a COVID ICU. Don’t remember the last time I felt so helpless and angry that these businesses won’t sell an ice cream to a mother with a 5 year old girl starting at it. Disappointed, angered and let down. Thank GOD for the gelateria 4-5 stores down that actually provides mask to customers and not just refuse you!!!!More
Great spot for wonderful ice cream. And the best, creamiest fudge. You have to try the salted caramel chocolate fudge, you will not be able to resist having just one bite. Better get two slabs as you will not want to share!
Came here for a late afternoon hot chocolate. The good news is that they made it themselves on the premises with their own dark chocolate shavings, mixed with steamed hot milk. The not-so-good news is that they charged $5 for just over a cup of...liquid (say about 10 oz). There was a little confusion, because the manager told us there was a full 16 ounces (equivalent to two cups according to most cooking baselines), but the man who prepared it gave far less. I’m assuming it wasn’t deliberate deception, because he was confused by my disappointment and offered to make us another one.
Hopefully in the future, they can standardize on a single larger size, because the first one we got was frustratingly small. Excellent quality though. Very nice for a boutique specializing in ice-cream and chocolate to branch out ever so slightly into the hot drink arena. Most places make a mockery of hot chocolates, and Kilwins knows what it’s doing.More
I consider myself something of an expert on hot fudge sundaes. Had a lot of them over a long life. The hardest part is great fudge. Kilwin's obviously knows fudge. A real treat. We also saw them actually make peanut brittle right there in the...store. A more labor-intensive task than I would have thought. So we got some, and it was very good. A high ratio of peanuts to goo, which is a good sign.
A great place to stop mid-afternoon or for desert.More
If you've been to Kilwins you know what you are going to get. Great desserts in the form of ice cream, fudge and chocolate. It is spendy to be sure but the quality and taste make it worth it once in a while.
