Despite there being three tour busses full of people in this huge market, things moved along. Our sandwich wait was minimal and well worth it...you take them into another room and pay there and enjoy them in a seating area. The chocolate decadence cake was astonishingly excellent as was the almond tart..French dip? Best ever due to the tons of lean meat and crusty roll. The place was bursting at the seams, but staff was helpful and the food oh oh so tasty.

We made our 3d trip here since discovering this Italian Grocery 10 days ago. For foodies & chefs it is addictive! The fresh food options are delicious & generous; the International cheeses diverse & yummy. Find the ingredients you need for any Italian recipe. If time, enjoy a perfect cappuccino & biscotti at the Coffee Bar or (patiently) await a to-go sandwich or more & picnic at one of several outdoor patios. A Gem for a reason. Staff is superb.

I love their Lasagna, Egglplant Parmisan, Meatballs and many of their other prepared foods. You simply take them home, pop in the oven and you have a great Italian meal. The breads are all amazing, as are the Italian desserts. My only complaint, if the owners are reading this, is to do something about the crowding at the Deli counter. We have to get a number to order prepared foods and then wait around till they call it and then wait around until the food is ready. This causes major crowding in this area and there have been at least 5 times that I have left without the food I wanted to buy simply because I couldn't get anywhere near the counter to even get a number. Either move the racks to make more space, or at least give those people a PA system so customers can walk the store while they wait for their number to be called instead of everyone piling into that small space. Other than that...this place is perfect!

We have a place in Orlando and have been coming to Mazzaros for over 10 years now. We love sitting on the patio and eating lunch and then shopping in the market to stock up on a few bakery items, pastas and sausages from the butcher. Years ago the lobster roll was on the deli menu occasionally and when it was I would get it because it was REAL lobster on the New England style top split rolls and it was so good! I know many people have requested it be put on the menu permanently so they did, probably about a year ago. Thought I would get one again today and I was so very disappointed! From the minute I sat down and opened the box I saw it was full of mayonnaise and knew it looked very different from the original way they made it years ago. I took one bite and knew it wasn’t lobster at all! I went to complain and the lady at the counter said it was “imitation” lobster (no kidding!) and they always made it that way. NO WAY! I eat lobster rolls a lot at many different restaurants and I know when it was on the menu a long time ago it was real lobster and they didn’t smother it with mayo like this time. She said that’s why people ask if it’s real. Really?! If it says “New England Style lobster roll” and it was made with real lobster before, why should I ask? I suppose they can deceive people by putting in the word “style” with no other description. I would’ve gladly paid a couple bucks more to have it made with real lobster instead of the disgusting imitation they now make it with. Very disappointed in you Mazzaros! You can do better!

Bug infested pasta the Mazzaro's knows is a problem but will not take responsibility. IMG_2020.jpg I called and spoke with a manager (Ben) and told him that the pasta I purchased at Mazzaro's (pictures included with the Mazzaro's name and price tag on them were e-mailed to him) had eggs that hatched and caused a severe infection of weevils in my kitchen. I had to through everything (excluding canned goods) in by pantry away. I needed to call a home team pest defense and they verified that the cause was the pasta from Mazzaro's. My kitchen was sprayed and it took about a week after everything was cleaned and washed before all the bug carcasses could be cleaned up. I had no kitchen to use for a week. Nothing but a headache, waste of food, and a very costly bug treatment and cleaning bill. This was Mazzaro's response: Paula ,As I have stated in the phone conversation with you, weevil eggs lie dormant in unbleached imported dried pasta, especially those from Italy. Sometimes the eggs hatch, especially if exposed to a heat source. Yes we have seen this occur from time to time, Just as any other grocery store that deals with imported pasta has. I believe you even stated that your pest control person explained this to you. Just to be very clear, You still have not provided me with the brand nor a receipt from this pasta. How do I know that this pasta was even purchased at Mazzaros. If there was a way to prove that this pasta was purchased at Mazzaros maybe then would I try and assist you in contacting the manufacturer for a resolution. As far as the threat to the bad reviews, We will be happy to attach this email conversation onto any review that is posted to show the whole story. Thank you, Ben This is unacceptable. My transaction was with Mazzaro's not with the manufacturer. Mazzaro should be responsible for the products that they sell- not telling customers to call a manufacturer in Italy to address the problem. I am disgusted with their lack of compassion and unwillingness to take any responsibility. It is a disgrace.

Lots of Italian brands. They have a great selection of olive oils. Their homemade pasta is incredible, especially the stuffed shells and the ravioli. The products that you can find at any regular store (fruits, canned food, juices, etc) are overpriced.

The reviews here tell the story of a wonderful market where shopping would be an exciting outing and the food would remind you of a market in the Po Valley. It turned out to be disappointing. Narrow aisles couldn't handle the crowds and doubtfully would pass an honest fire safety check. Food was poorly displayed and poorly labeled. The crowds added to the difficulties. If you want to eat here, one person had to save a seat while the other waited to be served at the deli counter. We elected to leave rather than struggle with the long lines.

We were on St Petersburg for two days and we went to Mazzaro's Italian Market twice, once to look around and once to shop. The quality and offerings the wine, cheese. meat and other Italian items are fantastic. We do not actually eat there, but we found out that you go to a deli counter, get a number, order your food and the take it out on the patio restaurant to eat. We did see they had an indoor food counter too. We took their pre-made Italian sausage lasagna home and it we really quite good. Next time we will eat there

Love the bakery and the deli. Enjoy the snack bar seating to have a cup of hot tea with delicious rugalach or pineapple upside down cake. So many tasty items to choose from in the deli. My favorite spot is the olive bar!

Obviously it's a big hit with the locals and they love it. Maybe it's your cup of cappuccino but the lasagna was just ok with me. I bought the spinach and sundried tomato lasagna to have when we arrived at our destination late so I didn't have to cook which is rare. I go to Italy every year and never had lasagna like that except in the US, heavy cheese, at least half the lasagna was a thick layer of cheese and barley any spinach except a few spots of the frozen kind. Very good selection of imported Italian ingredients. Very crowded. The bread is delicious. A great place to get all your Italian goodies in one place. I will come back to buy Italian products and make my own lasagna.!

This is a very special market and restaurant. Fresh everything from meat, vegetables, bakery items and pre made Italian meals like lasagna and pizza. We opted to eat a roast beef and cheese french dip sandwich from their deli. You order your sandwich and they make it fresh. Cost only $7 for a huge hot sandwich. The lines were very long but it is worth it.

It is the top of the line Italian deli, and grocery store. Beautiful meats, cheeses, pasta, sandwiches, prepared meals, fabulous butcher shop, and a wonderful wine cellar. Stroll through with a delicious cappuccino and Italian pastry, take home some fresh bread, and enjoy

We were visiting from another state and a relative recommended this place. It is truly an Italian food supermarket with a deli, coffee bar, wine shop and bakery. We did not plan to arrive at the height of the lunch hour so we were in the thick of it. But we navigated the deli to get delicious sandwiches, the coffee bar for drinks and the bakery to get a dessert and made it through the press of people out onto the patio where we enjoyed the superb food. We loved the atmosphere and the fact that this market has been here for decades and they have it down. Eat here!

I grew up a mile away from Delallo foods in western PA. They are a truly authentic Italian market whose products can be found in many grocery stores throughout the country. Mazzaros rivals it. It reminds me of my childhood and growing up in a massive Italian family and shopping at a store like this every Sunday. I went here for my first time picking up my son from Eckerd College. We live in North Georgia and have nothing like this. Thankful he is just a freshman so I have many, many more visits. The breads, meats, sandwiches and cookies and pastries are ridiculously good and unbelievably affordable. The Italian wedding soup with pastina was a wonderful treat and tasted like my mommas. Thank you Mazzaros for making my heart full.

First, let me say that this place has absolutely fantastic food and prices were more than reasonable! My husband and I went to this place expecting to see big crowds without any Covid safety protocols based on previous reviews. I don’t know where those people went, but this is one of the only places in Saint Pete’s that had a person at the door counting guests in and out. They had signs that you must wear a mask or you will be asked to leave. All employees had masks on. There was a crowd of people near the bakery and deli, but you can easily remove yourself from the crowd to wait your turn to order. My husband is from the Philly area and has had his share of cheese steaks. He ordered a Philly Cheese steak to try it out. It was beyond our expectation. The fresh bread and the meat they used cannot be compared with. This cheese steak blew all those other guys in Philadelphia away. We also got a chocolate peanut butter tart to share. It was plenty of dessert to share. It had peanut butter cups inside and was delicious. We got stuffed peppers and stuffed banana peppers to go and I highly recommend them as well.
