We have visited the Hollander about 15 times in the last few years. We eat at the Tap Room 2 or 3 times each visit. Our last visit was quite bad. My husband had the breakfast sandwich and it had 1 piece of lunch meat...ham on it and it was cold. I had the French toast and it was also cold. We didn't have time to send our food back or we would have. Not sure what change has happened in the kitchen but it needs to be fixed. Very disappointed.More

What a disappointment! Terrible experience of Christmas dinner.... We had called 4 days prior to make a reservation and were told they weren't taking any reservation under 6 people because there were plenty and enough sitting to accommodate everybody at any time... Well, not at...all! We walked in at 7pm on Christmas Day and we waited an hour and half to get a table. If it was the only issue, I could have been fine with that but.... We were given the menus, then waited another 20 minutes to be addressed again. I ordered the grouper... few minutes later the waitress came back, apologetic, saying they were out of grouper. Ok.. then I order the Pork chops. few minutes later, same scenario.. Sorry but we are out of pork shop! Ugh... I ordered the chicken parmigiana... Oh.. they have chicken parmigiana but are out of pasta! BUT I can have it with mashed potatoes if I want.. No it's not a joke.. It's pathetically sad.... Chicken Parmigiana with Mashed potatoes, what an incredible composition and culinary experience!... I finally just ordered the blackened chicken wing with ranch dressing. What a "wonderful" meal for such a special evening! First in my life... They came out dry and lukewarm. At one point the Manager came to the table to check if everything was "ok".. Of course not, it wasn't OK. I explained him what happened and he tried to justified that they had a lot of more people that they expected (it Christmas Day, for God sake!), blah blah blah.. So, having been in this business for 25 years, I gave him an advice (which he careless for anyway...): Please take reservations! This will allow you to estimate the volume of customers you will have and definitely help you to manage your stock and inventory... It's not rocket science, it's simple math! You lost money that night!... I was ordering $23/$24 meals that you couldn't provide and ended up ordering a $11 meal.. and rather than ordering a full bottle of wine, then I only ordered a glass! This place need a Real Manager! Won't be back...More

Great time, excellent food and service despite the crowd, many restaurants closed. The food was very good enjoyed the grouper pieces, ribeye sandwich and the smoked Salomon flat bread with added shrimp. They have fantastic desert choices too!

Every time I eat here I’m impressed by the ambience. A great room, a great porch. But the food is consistently mediocre. This seems a terrible waste. I’m guessing there are many Excellent unemployed chefs who could give this space the cuisine it deserves.

Discovered this location when we checked into the Hollander Hotel. Such a high class restaurant and bar. So many things to try on each of the menus. Never disappointed on the quality and flavors of our meals. We had breakfasts, lunches, dinners and several random...snacks from the kitchen. All of our meals were outstanding, I cannot believe this place is not the number one rated restaurant in St. Petersburg area. The atmosphere itself should rate number one. I recommend getting there early for parking the parking lot around the hotel fills up fast in the even with all of the patrons visiting this establishment. The patrons are happy and friendly because the waitstaff is happy and friendly. Such a delight to visit. I highly recommend the Tap Room for all occasions.More

Very good place located at the Hollander hotel. We had breakfast here and everything was delicious and great service too. I usually do not eat at testaurants in a hotel, this was good and prices were right.

Eating outside on the front porch is Great! There is inside seating and also food at the poolside. Ate here several times while staying at the Avalon hotel next door. Had both fish dishes, the salmon and the grouper. Both are good. The ambience is...very nice. Food was quite tasty.More

We were having a day visiting in St Pete and stopped at the TapRoom for lunch. Great choice. It was Wednesday, when their special is an 8 ounce burger with fries and any of their draft beers (about 20 to choose from) all for $11....Excellent burger done just right! Very nice sort of clubby atmosphere, very clean and top service from our server, Rachelle.More

We ate here twice. Burger was delicious. Club sandwich was also top notch. Had breakfast here, too. Scrambled eggs with your choice of additions was sooo good, and I don't like eggs that much. Then we stopped in for Martini Monday. Another fun experience. Every...staff person was friendly and accommodating. Love everything about The Tap Room.More

We ate here twice this time and the staffv were very pleasant both times. The dinner and a beer were really good. I hope that they add a little more variety to breakfast in the future. All of the employees that we encountered here and...at the Avalon next door were really nice to be around.More

There are cabana's and usually that indicates fun times for a group that would want to reserve, eat and drink in and have their own place. The pool area has it's own bar and the atmosphere is great!! The pool is a new... More
