I haven't wrote a review in awhile, so let me make this short. One of the best places I've eaten at and It's a shame I wasn't writing and review for them because I could praise this place and definitely one of the coolest bartenders...ever to serve me. "Joy" went above what some tenders might think isn't important. She asked questions, made short talk and just cared about her customer (Me). Before I go I have to leave this small note. The food was amazing and I didn't ask who the chef was and next I visit I will definitely give him some serious praise. As for the manager I sincerely hope it was a fluke and she was just having a bad day because she didn't fit the position and or the environment. I would love to invite Tom Sietsema, of the Washington Post and the world's most famous food writer to join me on a visit to "TRYST" He would go nuts for this little oasis... See you all very soonMore

Nice Wine List at Tryst We were in St. Petersburg in March, for my wife to attend a series of business meetings, so I found myself solo most of the time. I utilized that time doing two things: exploring St. Petersburg, and looking for interesting...wine lists. I found one at Tryst at 240 Beach Drive, not far from my hotel. I grabbed a stool at the then empty “speakeasy window” with a little shelf for a bar - sort of a neat experience. There was a special on the Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Yellow Label Champagne (that label has always looked orange to me, but if they call it yellow, who am I to argue?), so that was my order. Besides, after earlier wines, my palate needed a bit of cleansing. My server was good, and friendly, even when the other stools on the sidewalk filled up. Good service, and a nice Champagne on special - what’s not to like? I looked over the menu, and have decided that on our return to St. Petersburg, we will definitely have dinner at Tryst. One thing that also caught me eye was that they have a “Dog Menu.” While we do not travel with our Bulldog, that made an impression on me - neat, just like that little sidewalk bar.More

Stopped by for a quick cocktail after biking along the shore. The Tyrst cocktail was yummy! They did not have cider on tap but did have Stella Cidre.

This was our first visit to tryst. We very much enjoyed the food. We ate outside in a very pleasant environment. Our server did a great job as well. We will certainly be back.We shared the yellow fin tuna poke, brussels sprouts, and pickled vegetables....It was more than enough to eat for lunch.More

Crab Corn Chowder and Hummus & Pita I chose to have for lunch at Tryst were excellent, everything tasted so fresh and delicious, the size of the meal was very generous. I sat in the outside part of the restaurant, under those blue umbrellas, facing...the Beach Drive, North Straub Park and the Museum of Fine Arts. Quite Scenic, beautiful views! Server Fabian and other staff were very friendly, accommodating and expeditious. Coffee was hot and tasty, refilled too, the bill of $21.40 was totally proper for a light, but a very filling and flavorful lunch. Tryst is a very popular place to socialize, and/ or to have beverages at the bar (cool design!), to eat snacks, lunch or dinner - and basically, to gave a great time with friends or family in this vibrant part of the city. I enjoyed my lunch very much, thank you all!More

First our server was new and none of this her fault, felt so sorry for her! There was 4 of us at our table. My husband and I received our meals at the same time they were warm at best. He had steak, I have...scallops. Our friend, husband received his meal next, about 10 minutes after ours and his salad five minutes later, his food was hot. Our friend, wife received her meal 40 minutes later, not at all what she ordered. The chef, Shawn finally made it right and took care if us. The owner and the manager really need trained on customer service. We assured the server we were not upset with her and took care of her. I believe the food could be really good! I understand kitchen was was short staffed.More

Parking is difficult at busy times. I used a vale on a busy Sat. morning. Very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. I ordered fish tacos that were very good. Quiet except for girl yelling in kitchen.

We didn't eat, but I wanted to give a shout out to the bar staff. They were very accommodating. The outdoor lounge area was perfect and comfortable. We really enjoyed. It was a quiet night. Recommend stopping in for a drink.

Terrible service. Couple next to us came in 5 mins after us and received their food 10 minutes before us. Chicken flatbread dry and bland. Waiter knew it was terrible and took 25% off bill without me complaining

Poor ownership, doesn’t pay employees. Honestly puts a damper on my experience there. Everyone that works should be paid, don’t just avoid former employees because you’re immature.
