Over the last 2 years or so I've had three bad experiences with the food served by Acropolis Greek Taverna on Central Ave in St. Petersburg, Florida. My last experience was especially bad, because both my food and my friend's food were entirely unacceptable. My dish had way too much salt (I don't think they rinsed the capers, is my... More

My 6 and 7 year old granddaughters and their parents took me out to dinner. I had trout with a light sauce, roasted vegetables and orzo. I took half of mine home and nuked it. It was almost as delicious as the first night. A bosouki player entertained us a while, then all the servers danced arm-in-arm and threw white... More

Servers do not know what is Greek food from a McDonalds hamburger. You ask for a cheese spread and they bring you crummy cheese that comes out from a box, they soaked in oil and they serve it to you.3/4 of their dinners are anything but Greek, they try to confuse you with a belly dancer that could be anything but... As the author of "Goodbye Fatness, Hello Gorgeous!", I am always looking to dine at places that will help me stay on track with my healthy lifestyle. This is the place! I had a nice chicken with lemon dish that was amazing! The spinach and orzo was incredible. Great service and great recommendations!

Met here for a 40th birthday dinner...we sat upstairs which allowed us to all sit together and it was perfect! We still experienced the dancing and music but was still able to socialize. They served the 25+ of us promptly and I believe all meals were delivered as ordered! Good food and was reasonably priced.

I like Greek food, but it seems my only favorite is a Gyro and Saganaki. All the other items are standard fare elsewhere such as crab cakes, fried fish, and an assortment of breakfast items. The food was good, but nothing extraordinary. Service was very odd in that our waiter appeared and took a beverage order. Someone else delivered the drink... More

Lunch visit- so we lost the atmosphere but very good meals. Gyro salads, chicken salads and gyro platter all delicious - about $12 each. Generous portions. Saganaki delicious but poor presentation - felt cheated out of our OPA's ! Service attentive - but too pushy to pull our plates and box up leftovers while we were still eating and enjoying... More

This was our first visit and unfortunately the service was horrible. It will be a long time before we try it again. It started off fine, we were seated immediately, brought water and ordered drinks. It was happy hour so we both ordered a glass of house wine. The waiter came and took our order. The appetizer (eggplant rolls) came... More

Fantastic food, service and atmosphere. We love the dancing wait staff, the napkin toss, and the smashing of the plates!! It was an amazing surprise and very entertaining. My husband and I love the food and go here every time we are in the area.

Hummus with olive oil was incredible with the pita. Gyro also a fan favorite. Greek meatballs were just ok. Loved the Greek salad. Overall the food was really good but the servers were in the weeds and couldn't keep up. It didn't appear to even be that busy. No one checked on us and we had to wait forever to... More
