We went to red mesa on a Saturday night so it was super busy. We ended up sitting at the bar, and we are so happy we did! Bar tenders were wonderful (Keith was one name, but I am forgetting the other bartenders name!!!). We...ordered a few beers, and margaritas. The margs were wonderful. We ended up doing guac and empanadas for appetizers and they came so quickly and were sooo good. We ordered some tacos (chicken, fish, and 2 tuna) and it ended up taking a little while for the food (which we were NOT upset or surprised by, it was a Saturday night, Santa Bar Crawl, and very busy!) Our bartenders kept apologizing and acknowledging the wait time for our food, but we weren't upset at all, it was nice they noticed it was taking longer, but it was truly worth the wait. GREAT food, amazing service, can't wait to come back!More

Three of us arrived around 5:45pm and were told that we could wait at one of the bars if we wanted while a table became available in probably 15 minutes. Sure enough 10 minutes later they texted me and we carried our wine, moscow mule,...and margarita from the upstairs outside bar area to the downstairs inside dining area. Normally, we like to sit outside, but it was a bit chilly. Two of us ordered the Seafood Mofondo and the other order was a pork enchilada. The Mofondo was excellent and the enchilada was very good. I'm being a bit stingy with my rating, but everything has to be absolutely perfect for me to give 5 stars. The only things that didn't quite make the perfect list were the heaters for the outdoor bar area weren't turned on - turns out the bartender didn't know how to turn them on; and the mofondo, while it was delicious, there should have been a little more of it. I really don't like spending a lot of money going out to dinner then feeling like I need to stop at Wendy's on the way home. Other than that, it's a great place and we'll be going back. Incidentally, we lucked out with parking. There was an open space immediately in front of the reservation desk out front. It cost $1/hr in 15 minute increments and we put $1.50 in, which was just barely enough time. There was 1 minute left when we got into our car.More

Upon our arrival at Red Mesa, my husband and I were escorted to our table and given one paper menu. When the waiter came by the table and asked if we were ready to order, we pointed out that we only had one menu, and...gave him our drink order. In a bit, he returned without an additional menu, and at this point I googled the menu on my phone. We placed our order. My husband ordered chicken enchiladas. When his meal arrived, it didn’t resemble an enchilada as it was a bowl of rice with chicken, cheese and onions on top. Our waiter was not seen again until we were about finished. When he arrived with the check, we inquired about the unusual presentation. His response was, the kitchen must have presented him with the wrong meal. He asked if my husband enjoyed the fish he received and my husband said yes. Waiter said that's great and sorry about the mistake. He then went back to the kitchen, and upon his return, he presented us with the check, never saying another word about the mixup. He ran our credit card on his portable card scanner, and dashed off. So strange, there was no manager checking on tables and are waiter could care less that my husband didn't get the meal he ordered.More

Outstanding and fresh Mexican food. The prices are reasonable. The tacos, enchiladas, and salsa were all wonderfully spicy.

Stopped in here for a quick drink before catching a Devil Rays game. No happy hour menu. Sat in the back by the bar which had a nice setup and appreciated the fact they were still trying to distance folks. Grabbed a beer and spicy...tuna tacos, which I did enjoy. Since it was late afternoon, sun does this the bar area and my draft beer wasn't cold.More

Not my first visit, will be my last visit. The wait for our drinks was well over 20min. Then only one of two drinks came out. The Guac was acidic, as if the guac had been made two days ago. The salsa was tomato, sugar...and water. The server was not aware of his table or sympathetic to the disarray of the situation. Do not recommend.More

We ate at Red Mesa Cantina twice during our St. Petersburg visit, and I had shrimp tacos both times, because I enjoyed them so much the first time! The congri served with the tacos was delicious, too. The service was excellent, and we enjoyed dining...on the patio. We'll return next time we visit St. Pete!More

The waitress was a doll- loved St Pete and the restaurant, and really helped us customize the meal to our dietary restrictions (vegetarian, gluten free/friendly). The kitchen really works with you to satisfy your needs. The decor was interesting- seating was socially distant- everything was...clean.More

Waitress was sketchy from the start. It's all day happy hour and she charged us for top dollar alcohol. $13 for an entree and it doesn't come with rice or beans, we ordered beans and they never came out. Just a total disappointment. Way too...many mexican restaurants that have better entrees, go find them it's not here.More
