We stayed very nearby to this restaurant this month for 10 days and in this time we ate here alot but also tried most of the local eateries. We found the food, service and experience at the Hurricane consistently good and because of this we ate...here more than any of the neighbouring alternatives. We had numerous servers during our many lunch and Dinners at the Hurricane and found they were all genuine and efficient and frieindly enough. The frozen drinks were the best in the area, the grouper whilst perhaps a smaller portion was fresh and juicy, the fries were cooked well (you can tell alot by a restaurants fries!)The deserts were good, burgers and sandwiches also were spot on. What we liked was even when they were busy the food arrived in good time ,well cooked and the servers were not flustered and from what we saw and overheard gave a great experience to locals and tourists alike this was not quite the case at another nearby alternative. Ive read some of the reviews on here and feel the Hurricane is a good solid choice for a casual meal out in passe a grille,Thanks guys we will be back!More

Had lunch/dinner here for the first time and it was pretty good. I had heard bad reviews. Have had many beverages on the rooftop in the past. Calamari starting out was good with the different dipping sauces. The shrimp Po’ Boy was good ( I...wish I got grouper ) my sons blackened grouper sandwich was awesome, and my wife’s salad with blackened grouper was good. My personal favorite of the meal were the fries, don’t get me wrong the Po’ boy was good but the fries were outstanding.More

The bartender was less than engaged in serving customers! The drink I had (vodka &tonic) was absolutely horrible - bad tonic! Told him - brought another- still bad! Never came back to check on me to see if it was okay! Never go back!

We ate here hoping for the best. We remember this from years ago fondly. However, we rarely saw our server and the restaurant was NOT crowded. The portions were small, and the food was not that good. Sad. We had hoped for more. I asked...for tea. It was never refilled. I also asked for Sweet and Low. The sweetener never came. I also never got a refill, despite the long wait we had for our food. The best part of the meal was the guy guarding the parking lot who was friendly and fun. We will never return to this restaurant. Final thought: My wife tripped on the broken sidewalk (it is in terrible shape) as we walked into the restaurant. She was hurting. She fell in front of two employees. Not only did they not help her up (or help me help her), they did not even ask if she was OK. No one cared. Clearly, they did not care about the meal or service either.More

We recently visited the area and ate here several times. We visited the rooftop bar, where we had pleasant service, cold drinks, and excellent food, which was promptly delivered to us from downstairs. View is awesome, and the bartenders are enjoyable to chat with. The...day we were leaving, stopped by for lunch on the first floor side patio - food was again awesome, and we enjoyed prompt and efficient service from Julia, who was also knowledgeable about the area and answered some questions we had re Passa-Grille and St Pete. Really enjoyed the Hurricane this trip and will definitely be back!More

We visited twice because of the great sea food and service. Had scallops and salmon. Frozen drinks were the best we had on St. Pete Beach. The hurricane deck looked to be a wonderful place to watch a Pass A Grille sunset.

Looked forward to revisiting this restaurant for the great food and views, but the only thing they had to offer is the great rooftop view. Service was terrible at the bar and weight staff was non-existant. Very rude overall-even the person who appeared to be...the manager was lacking basic customer service skills and had a bad overall appearance, representing the restaurant., We had to order off our phones because they were having issues with their computer system but nobody was helpful and the order we placed was not what we ended up getting. Just pathetic. I would not waste my time to go back here, unfortunately. They can’t even keep up with the maintenance of the building, including tables and chairs. A new owner must’ve taken over in the last couple years because it is just awful.More

Part of the pleasure of our annual visit to Pass-a-Grille has always been eating at the Hurricane, enjoying the food while admiring the gorgeous sunsets over the sea. After three years away due to Covid restrictions we were eager to get back, but sadly only...the sunset was as good as we remembered. We didn't mind the wait for a table, it seems there were staff shortages. Certainly they were not particularly efficient as we saw plenty of empty tables that sat uncleared while patrons queued. However, once seated the total lack of service came as a shock - not what we've experienced in the past. The waiter ambled past and without even looking at us let alone speaking to us, dropped a handful of paper napkins onto our table. He returned to take our drinks order and then food order without engaging at all - seeming more interested in the diners at another table who he later spoke to while lounging against the railings. Because he had his back to us as he served he failed to hear my request for another drink, at which point I gave up. The only time he spoke to me was when he presented the bill and stated that it had been an honour to serve us - an unexpected manifestation of irony!More

Arrived at 8:30 was told let me ask manager if we can seat you. Finally came back and said oh well I’ll seat you inside. We kindly asked if we could sit outside. He reluctantly said ok. Would jace been no problem except exactly an...hour after we were there we took a walk and saw new tables still eating outside. Our waiter was ok but clearly wanted to go home. Made our dinner uncomfortable Shame the location is excellent but the food medicore and the staff that served us were fairly rude Dinner is meant to be enjoyed not to felt like we were putting them out. If your customers are putting you out sell to someone who knows how important customers are. We didn’t complain but we won’t be back. We live in Tampa part of the year so this is a nice drive. We will try the brass monkey tomorrowMore

Staff mostly rude, esp hostess. Food very mediocre at best. The draw for this place is the location. It is a lovely big building, it would have changed experienced dramatically if the staff ver pleasant. Not a recommended experience.

Clueless hostess eventually arrived at the desk, said rooftop doesn't open until 1pm. What kind of time is that to open? We wandered up to the huge roof with a huger view. They were open, kind of. One bartender said we could place an order...with her. No table service. The food arrived as we finished our watery drinks, in a plastic bag with plastic utensils, one flimsy napkin, you get the picture. Nothing could ruin our week on the Gulf Shore, though even as the Hurricane tried.More

Great shrimp dishes - fresh salads - good drinks - they were very busy and service was quick and friendly. We ate outside and I highly recommend this restaurant.

Location besides the beach is very nice. Service by the waiter was very poor. The tacos that I ordered lacked the fillings described in the menu. Lot better choices in the neighborhood to eat a meal.
