Waited at our seats for too long for service. Ordered the biscuits and gravy and two eggs on side. Wife ordered an omelette. Most of the food was good but the eggs were so undercooked the egg whites were still clear. Omelette had a ghetto piece of cheese melted on top. We never saw our waitress and had to wait away too long for a coffee refill. Eventually got tired of waiting for waitress to take our payment t and had to go to the bartender to pay only to have him tell us the waitress has to take it. He did let us pay there after all though, thanks for that. We just wanted a quick breakfast and to get our day started. 1 and a half hours and a mediocre meal later, I can safely say Toasted Monkey is probably not the best breakfast in St. Pete Beach.

We celebrated my wife’s birthday with the kids and walked over from the Alden Suites along the beach. We were immediately greeted by Devon with a smile and she was so sweet, kind and helpful with the menu choices and very patient with the kids. The buffalo cauliflower was an outstanding recommendation and delicious. The chicken wings were excellent and my wife loved the fish tacos. We sat outside on a table on the sandy beach. The staff were super friendly and attentive. John and Devon really made our family feel special as they made their rounds and were genuinely interested in our family vacation. We can’t wait to return and highly recommend the toasted monkey for their outstanding customer service, unique menu choices and friendly staff that went above and beyond to put a big smile on our faces. We caught a spectacular sunset from the beach. The Toasted Monkey Rocks! Thank you Devon and John for helping to make this vacation a fun and relaxing experience for our family 👍😎🙌🌅

We loved this place' a cute bar on the beach with live music and excellent food. They serve the best onion rings around and they had impossible burgers for us vegetarians. For the carnivores they have a well varied menu.

We were at St. Pete beach on a family vacation during Covid-19 and decided to get take out only. We chose Toasted Monkey because it was close and inexpensive and they had mac n cheese. I was disappointed in the she crab soup and my kids did not like the mac n cheese, but mostly because they forgot an entire item I ordered -which was my dinner. The staff was very friendly and bagged up my order and I didn't even check it before walking back to my room two blocks away. So disappointed.

Went to this establishment for lunch today, Monday, with a few friends for lunch on my day off since we headed over to the beaches in St Pete. I had heard some good things about this place prior. My friend chose the firecracker shrimp and I had the ahi tuna.
To start with the food it was amazing! seasoned to perfection. My server was very friendly and quick to help as we wanted some good refreshing beverages to go with our lunch. Her name was Renee, she was smiling and very fast with service and making us feel welcomed! She was able to help us select the delicious lunches since there were so many to choose from. She recommended the ahi tuna because I
wanted something a little on the lighter side.
I will definitely be returning and will be looking for Renee again. She is a great accent to a wonderful dining experience! Thank you Renee!! See you soon!

We ate here several times during the week we spent at the Howard Johnson Hotel. Their menu isn’t very big but they have a bit of everything. There’s the restaurant/bar with an outside eating area in the front and the Tiki Bar out back between the pool and the beach. We had the grouper, the regular fish sandwich, the onion rings and we had the nachos with beef a couple of times. The only thing we didn’t like were the onion rings. They were homemade and the onion slices were about an inch wide and we’re about half cooked compared to the coating. They took them off our bill when they saw we didn’t eat them. Staff is very friendly and prices were reasonable especially compAred to other places nearby. PS: the nachos will feed at least three people!!

We went here after my beach wedding ceremony for drinks and food around 9PM and sat inside. The food itself was tasty, I recommend the coconut shrimp and the chicken wings as well as the fried plantains, but the service was a little weird. The waitress seemed very out of it and sat down to roll silverware while tables needed her. The food portions were huge, especially the onion rings, and the frozen drinks were decent. Overall, I would recommend for a casual place if you're not in a hurry.

Hadn’t tried this place since their affiliation with “The Bouys” across the street. Nothing near the water is going to be cheap, do you expect the drinks yo be decent. This place is mediocre. Lousy if you consider that two drinks and some chips with sauces (which were very good) cost over $35.
There is live entertainment, though poor by even beach dump standards. As this place isn’t a dump, and being very busy, we expected better. Though if you are a subscriber to the “anything loud is great” theory, you might just love it.
We are 50/50 as to whether we’ll stop back to try the food, given the disappointment with the rum runners.
As an aside, was confused by the pics posted with this establishment. Half have nothing to fo with the place.

With all of the restaurant options in SPB, we happened upon the Toasted Monkey. It wasn't our first choice. We originally had planned on Willy's Burgers and Booze around the corner. Because we couldn't find a parking spot for Willy's, we decided on the Monkey; which had available parking right across the street. After a while, it gets a little tiring driving around the block; searching for a place to park. The Toasted Monkey wasn't overly busy when we arrived on a Sunday afternoon/evening. We didn't want a table on the ground level directly in front of a loud speaker blaring out music, so we went upstairs to the roof bar area. The ONLY place we found to sit was back by the stairs marked, "Employees Only" directly across from the Bouy Beach Bar and Grill. We were given a menu, then left to wait to order for over 30 minutes. No one even took our drink order. This, on a 90 degree day on a roof top. The waitress wasn't apologetic at all. When we finally received our food, it was average. My wife and I split a Caribbean Mama. Talk about a watered down $10 8 ounce disappointment. We almost walked over to the Bouy prior to someone taking our order. Perhaps we should have. The Toasted Monkey needs to do better for its customers.

On vacation on the beach and a number of folks recommended the Toasted Monkey for good food and local flavor.
They have a good amount of outdoor seating and live entertainment when we were there. We elected to eat inside. Our waitress was very nice and very efficient. The place gave off a local flavor feel, which we liked. All four of us enjoyed our meals and the portion were quite large and I thought prices reasonable for the beach.
After dinner we went upstairs for a couple of drinks at the bar, hung out with some regulars and a a great time. Nice little view from the upstairs.

We visited around 4 pm on a Friday. They have outdoor seating available (umbrella tables). Everything we ordered was delicious. Fish tacos, bbq shrimp wrap, chicken avacado BLT, and callimari . Server was friendly and accommodating. Total for four people with one beer each was $100 including tax and tip. Would definitely return if we are in the area.

Nicely varied menu of appetizers, salads, sandwiches and much more. The wings should be ordered breaded. There are at least 8 different choices of sauce. The toasted monkey sauce is over the top with flavor that won’t burn your mouth!
Their Reuben sandwich is superb-no shortage of corned beef. Reasonably prices on all items. Indoor and outdoor dining.

We had a great visit to the new Toasted Monkey location. While you used to visit their Gulf Blvd location this one is even larger. We heard it gets quite wild with a younger crowd in the evenings but we were there mid afternoon and had a nice relaxing cocktail and appetizer. Friendly staff and decent food.

We ate lunch here yesterday. It was so enjoyable and affordable. We had the lettuce wrap appetizer, which was delicious, fish basket, which was a great size, and their brownie sundae for dessert. Between the food and the 5 drinks our bill was still under $60.

Visited while in St Petes. This is definitely a beach bar with people from all walks of life. This is a great place to watch the game on Sundays as they have a number of TVs and do not mind changing the channel to ensure that everyone can see their game of choice. Food and drinks were not bad the burgers were quite big which was a bonus to watching a winning Bills game right next to a losing Dolphins game. Basically everyone congregates near thier team tv. During commercials/ halftime you talk to and see where everyone is from. It is not uncommon to meet people from your home town . I do think it may be able to get on the rowdy side as the day goes on but my thought is if I don’t like it I will leave
