This was a better than Waffle House but not to die for breakfast. But they were super nice and kept the coffee coming.

A little slow on service but a good standard breakfast. Eggs, hash browns, toast and a bloody mary. Simple and good. My friend ordered a well done omelet and she said it was cooked to perfection!
Our annual week at SGI is not complete without getting takeout from Beach Pit several times. They do takeout very well. Had it 4 nights, fried shrimp is outstanding, and once for breakfast, also outstanding.
Over-priced! $14 for a regular sized brisket sandwich and baked beans. The brisket was chopped! The bbq sauce was good. Hubs had $12 oyster basket, 10 fried oysters and green beans. Very dim outdoor lighting on the enclosed patio.
This place has the best BBQ on the island and it’s right across from Mango Mike’s! The serve breakfast and too! For sure you need to stop at both places. The staff is also wonderful and it is very clean. This is a must stop...place.More
This is the ONLY place where we felt safe from COVID because we could dine distanced from others on an outdoor picnic table in the sun. Still, we had to request a different server because the first one would not wear a mask. The second...server was kind and understanding and she did wear a mask. The food was very good. The veggie burger all dressed up with onion, mustard and ketchup was worth the trip. The oysters were fantastic! Wash this down with a couple of good beers and it was the most pleasant dining experience we had in over two weeks on the Island!More
This restaurant was one of the few that we noted on any social media sites with a review that I was able to find credible. There are very few places to dine on St George Island itself. We walked into this totally empty restaurant two...days before Christmas at 5 pm. None the less, our waitress, Emma was sharp and attentive. We ordered off a menu that featured BBQ on one side of the menu and Seafood on the other. Empty restaurant, menu with two many choices. We looked at each, and we were silently resigned to mediocrity. When our waitress approached us to order, she was friendly and knowledgeable. We ordered a Seafood platter, which had fried shrimp, fried grouper, and should have had fried oysters, except I substituted those for extra fried shrimp. The batter was light and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. The fried grouper was good. The French fries were my choice as one of two sides, among many choices. They were thin and decent tasting as French fries go. I took it safe and should have tried another option. The other side I chose was the cole slaw. It was very fresh. Home made and worth the risk. My mother bragged about the fried okra and hush puppies. My partner chose the grilled shrimp. It was a platter with a seasoning that was, as my partner described “ spot on “ He chose the side salad which was not at all a typical food service salad mix. It was fresh, and a good choice. The portions are huge. I should have split a platter with my sister, who also ordered the fried shrimp platter and equally enjoyed everything. We did not order dessert or alcohol beverages. The waitress was very efficient. She provided every thing we needed in a timely manner. I will also say that our family has consciously chosen to try to support our local businesses as they struggle. We too try to reward good service above the typical expected gratuity as these staff members are barely making enough to make it worth it for them to even come to work, while serving those of us who are willing to venture out during this pandemic. I understand that not everyone can be so generous, but I do plead with those people ( and we know who we are ) that are able to look around you and try to understand that most of the people who make our evenings out possible are struggling to pay their bills. We need to order take out, give generous tips, and reward excellent service, so these businesses can be here years later when we are no longer in a pandemic. Anyway, it’s definitely better than the other fried seafood restaurant nearby that we tried based on the amount of cars in its parking lot.More
We went to a barbecue ? restaurant and ordered seafood. The formula for disaster, but it was wonderful.. Outside dining during Covid was great and the fried shrimp and oysters were a delight. I would not hesitate saying they were quite possibly the best ever!...We ate there twice. Never did eat any cue, had to reorder the shrimp!More
We ordered take out - burgers, barbecue - food was hot & ready for pickup quickly - prepaid - COVID measures in place - hand sanitizer at the door - mask required- No extra barbecue sauce provided - this must be a Florida thing -...so would definitely ask for extra sauce next time - Would eat here again-More
My wife and I came to St. George Island after her father, a regular at the Beach Pit, passed away. The entire staff welcomed us like family and made a difficult time much more bearable. The food is absolutely amazing, I particularly enjoyed the babyback...ribs. You cannot go wrong by eating here and you're definitely not going to find any better BBQ.More
