Very good, fresh food with nice service. I had a grilled chicken Caesar salad that was a perfect lunch. Friendly staff and a nice location in St. Augustine if you are looking for quick, good meal.

Family of four went for lunch. Options were typical seafood fare. I wasn't pleased with the portion size but the food was good. The service was excellent even when our server dropped honey mustard on my son's shirt and backpack. But, the server was extremely...apologetic and he even comped my son's meal! That spoke volumes to me!! I'd go backMore

Horrible service. Kitchen made a mistake on our order and the waitress argued with me if I really had an allergy. Waitress didn’t come back except to bring the check.

The food was good as was the service. The prices were just a bit high. Our waiter was very friendly and the location was great if you are on St. George St.

We had lunch at the Florida Cracker and sat at the bar. The server could not have been more welcoming and nice. She cheerfully changed our order on the fly after it had been out in. The Fried Green Tomato BLT was crispy, hot and...so delicious. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of food and service in a tourist district establishment. Two thumbs up from these Texans!More

I first visited on a Friday afternoon in mid February alone prepping for a trip with a neighbor and her two littles. The food was very good. Had the blackened chicken and it was delicious and very unusual. Had a slight tang to it which...was not too hot. Seating inside and out, I chose inside. There was a large school group on the outside deck, as the kids are starting to come back as groups to local areas. Had a local feel to the place and it’s in a great location, right in the middle of Old Town. Parking lot in the back (paid parking), is very convenient if you can get there early enough, which I did. Their bathrooms are also available for public use, which is unusual for most restaurants, but good to know. There was only one con to the visit and that was there is only one waitress. She’s very harried and not very attentive as she has the entire restaurant to handle. Though there were three other women handling the food to bring to the tables and there were about two or three men in the kitchen, they could have handled the tables better with an additional waitress to do more than take your order. She was very friendly but extremely distracted. Thinking it was because the school group was there, I didn’t think anything of it. Since the food was good and they have a good kids menu, I chose this as the place to return to for all the reasons listed above. We came back the next day, on a Saturday afternoon, with the 4 and 6 year old. They liked the food, which was a win. We adults ordered the Shrimp Po Boy, which was a mistake. The chicken was delicious and moist where as the Po Boy sandwich was terribly dry. There was supposed to be a Cajun remounted sauce and I believe I had about a teaspoon of sauce on it in the last bite. Maybe there were about four pieces of dry battered shrimp. Again, only the same waitress worked the floor and she seemed like she needed a vacation. When my friend took her kids to the bathroom in the middle of the meal, she asked me to ordered tartar sauce for the sandwich because it was so dry. The waitress literally swung by and asked how everything was but didn’t even stop to get my answer and headed off to the next table and did the same thing. She seriously seemed as though she had a million things on her mind and didn’t know which one to deal with first. I had to flag her down (the inside is small and is one big room about 20’ x 30’ so that’s not a problem. I was able to get her attention and get the sauce. Again, she was very friendly, just really distracted. There were two women just standing at the counter waiting for the food to come out, who could really have helped with some follow up waitressing like getting people extra water or sauce, etc. The only additional item that was a bit annoying was when the check came. The receipts state that if you bring your receipt from a previous visit to the next visit you get $5 off your bill of over $25. Prices in St. Augustine for food are not cheap. This visit cost us $64 for just lunch. I took my receipt from the day before out and placed it on top of the credit card and the current bill. When she hurriedly returned and dropped the check off, I realized my receipt was gone and the discount had not been applied. Word to the wise, if you do this, make sure you get her attention and point out the discount if you are able to catch her before she runs away, which is pretty difficult to do. Over all, the experience was good, the food was good. Service was a little less then average. That’s why I didn’t rate this a 5 star. If they had better service, I would have rated higher. I won’t give this place up. But I won’t go when they are busy at all. This is good for an early lunch with about 3/4 or less patronage.More

I arrived in St Augustine on a Sunday evening having not eaten all day to to traveling. I found a city with lines out of doors at every restaurant. I was starving. I came across Florida Cracker Cafe and noticed it was not busy (usually...not a good sign - but I was desperate). The reason they were not busy was because they were about to close in 5 minutes. The hostess took me in and seated me anyway. The service was great and I got to try several awesome appetizers including fried green tomatoes and a black bean hummus dip.More

Fabulous gator tail. Great taste. Having a salad today. A change from our normal fare of burgers and fresh fish. Prompt server who kept our drinks full. We highly recommend this restaurant as a casual dining experience.
