We have travelled to Saint Augustine many, many times yet we never heard or knew of Cafe Alcazar. We wanted to try something different and we found a beautiful restaurant in what was an elegant hotel. The fact that it's located in the former pool of the hotel only adds to its charm. The most important part of our experience,... More

After stopping here with a private tour we decided to book a lunch for later. What fun to eat in the once deep end of the largest pool in the country! Amazing how they transformed the space. The food was delicious and the service excellent. Great choice!

First , you have to appreciate that you are eating in what was once the indoor pool for the Alcazar Hotel. Situated in the same building as the Lightner Museum, so take in some history, then take in a relaxing and enjoyable lunch. If you have had enough of the frenetic pace of sightseeing, chill out for lunch here food/service... More

What a great find this restaurant was lovely old setting in the site of the once largest indoor swimming pool. Was lovely and cool inside after being out in the hot sun. The Waiter was very helpful to tell us about different things on the menu. Lunch was delicious and to make it more perfect there was guy playing a... More

We stopped in to check out the previous recreation pool. It was impressive area. We had to see and have a tea and take it all in. I loved seeing the pool in its hayday during our Lightner Museum tour.

Based on trip advisor reviews, we had lunch at Café Alcazar. What a wonderful experience! It is in an historic building, City Hall and the Lightner Museum tucked back in the rear. It is not a large facility but you are surrounded by the interior of the building and can see up one floor. There is a balcony up there.... More

Food was excellent. Beautiful isn't even a good word to describe this restaurant. They offered us free champagne since it was our first Valentines day as a married couple! I will be back every-time!

We stopped by Cafe Alcazar for lunch with our 2 young boys. Not only was the food delicious, but the location is super unique. Not everyday do you get to dine at the bottom of a historic swimming pool. The curried chicken salad was amazing. Our boys had the kids cheese pizza and actually ate it (great portion sizes too-enough... More

Our Proprietors of our B&B Inn told of this hidden place. After having dined all over the world this place tops them all. You dine in what was one of the world's biggest swimming pools at that time. The pool filled in and is hidden in the Lightner Museum. You are surrounded with Tiffany stained glass, marble pillars, and the... More
