This little gem was one of our favorites. We ate here twice during the week. Loved the Cuban sandwich. Breakfast was good too. Our waitress was so friendly and helpful. We sat outside at the sidewalk tables and soaked up some sun and local culture. Much quieter here on Aviles St. vs. St. George St. I don't usually eat dessert,... More

Walked to the old historic area and down the oldest street in America and found this eatery by accident. We enjoyed the sandwiches, Media Noche and BLT with avocado, along with the Platanos Maduros or Fried Sweet Plantains. Everything was tasty especially the raisin bread pudding which I almost did not order because I was full.,

On a busy evening we were lucky to find a restaurant with an open table. The bigger restaurants near the harbor had one hour waiting lists for dinner. Walking through the city we took a chance and were very pleased with the outcome. We started with an Empanada each and began to smile again. My Grilled mango fish wrap sandwich... More

My family and I were starving, so we grabbed a late lunch here. I have only had Cuban food twice and this was a bit disappointing. I think that the first one ruined me because it was SO flavorful. This was good, but not very flavorful. It was a nice lunch on a beautiful day!

Good food - great view of Aviles Street. Service was efficient and white sangria was fantastic. Strong hints of Pineapple made it refreshing on a warm day. Food was mostly great - Cuban sandwich and black beans and rice were tasty whereas plantains weren't properly sweet. However it was a blissful afternoon spent with great company in a beautiful outdoor... More

My family and I love great Cuban food, so we had to check La Herencia out while we were in St. Augustine. The service was great and the food was good. I ordered the ropa vieja and beans and rice. My family had a Cuban sandwich, yucca, and sweet plantains. Although we thought the food was good, we agreed it... More

The food was fair. We ordered. Fish wraps. They were dry and only had lettuce and fish in the wrap. Good waitress. Our eyes burned in the small restaurant, perhaps from the grill. The fish wraps were served with black bans and rice. Nothing special

Stopped by just down the street from our bed and breakfast for lunch at this tiny little place. Nice selection of Cuban sandwiches and entrees. Sandwich was excellent and yuca fries were tasty, although the serving of fries was very small. Soft drinks are in cans only so no free refills. Value was ok as it was about $12 each... More

I enjoyed a wonderful (and very filling) breakfast. A tortilla filled with eggs, potatoes, peppers, onions and cheese. Plantains and salsa on the side added a hint of sweetness. What a meal in a beautiful old world atmosphere. Stopped by again the following day for a couple of Cuban sandwiches to take on the road. These were delicious as well.... More
