This is an old standby just east of the old town part of St. Augustine across the Bridge of Lions. It serves good, fresh, mostly fired, seafood with the usual diner-type sides at a very reasonable price for the St. Augustine area. It is so...popular that people stand outside for over two hours waiting to get in. They also do a large take-out business and, when we were there, the wait for take out was 45 minutes. The restaurant itself is surprisingly small so getting seated takes forever. We wouldn't wait over two hours again when there are other choices nearby, albeit more costly.More

(Please read in an Australian accent). I’m a teenie bit punch drunk writing this review. I feel like I was caught in a slug fest between the Hemsworth fellas with Thor smacking me in the gut and the other one that dated Miley Cyrus whacking...me in the jaw. What does this have to do with my meal at O’Steen’s; fe-k’n nothing at all! My sheila’s top hen had heard of this staple of St Augustine, not to be confused with the fat fella who got stuck in the tube at ol Willy Wonkas house after eating all that chocolate. Where was I? Yes, bloody shrimp! The wait was as long as Mick Dundee’s bloody knife, but we were well prepared for it. We were told we could go to the Pub next door and wait while whetting our whistles with a few pints and meeting our new mate on his 30th birthday. He had a smile only a mother could love but he was a lively bloke and deserved to be celebrated. Cheers, mate! Back to the lecture at hand, we were seated at a lovely Sheila’s table and we ordered the fried shrimp with a cup of chowder (not an easy word to pronounce for this thunder from down under). The chowder was served in a hot croc minute and was bloody marvelous, chunks of the oyster cousin in every lush bite. The shrimp, reminds me of the days when my pa would wrestle two crocs, a great white, then surf home with fishing pole to bring home prawns for lunch. This Aussie boss gives is a fe-k’n roaring koala wink!More

Some of the best shrimp in St Augustine. A local, family restaurant. Go early otherwise the wait can be long. They also offer take out but you will wait for that as well. Parking is limited. All of this but the food is worth it....Reasonable pricesMore

Went to Osteen's Seafood on the recommendation of our hotel hostess. Did not dissappoint! Staff was super nice and helpful. Food was fantastic and homemade banana cream pie was to die for! Great value and delicious. Will definitely go back!

This is probably my 10th visit to this restaurant, and it never disappoints us. I can only comment on their fried shrimp and some of the sides, since this place has the best shrimp hands down of anyplace I ever had shrimp at. Today, 5-20-21,...I had fried shrimp with French fries, cucumber salad, and hushpuppies. These are huge shrimp, and butterflied and lightly breaded, and served with their signature pink sauce, and are always excellent. The cucumber salad is also very tasty, and should be tried as a side. This restaurant has been around a long time but still manages to produce quality food, the only two things you need bring with you is an appetite and cash, since they do not take credit cards.More

O'Steens is a smallish mom/pop style restaurant just down the road from St. Augustine Lighthouse. Trusting Trip Advisor, the wife ad I stopped by for lunch ad were happy we did. It was refreshing to be able to sit i a restaurant sans mask unlike...home (at the time). There's nothing fancy, just good eating that's gonna fill you up. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, rather unique presentation, delicious home-made shrimp sauce and moist hush-puppies. Cost was o the top end but, even being on vacation, we felt was worth it. It can get busy at times so just be patient. Definitely recommend.More

Haven't been in a while since we live out of town. It's still as great as it's ever been. The shrimp is excellent. I really enjoy their pickled cucumbers and homemade datil pepper sauce!

Good old school cooking. I had the 12 piece fried shrimp and they were great! It came with 2 sides and hushpuppies and was plenty to fill me up. If you worried it won't, they have pie, etcetera ready for dessert! Super nice staff!

We stopped in 20 minutes before they closed and were greeted warmly. Food was prepared quickly, was fresh, and delicious! The shrimp and their homemade sauce were both delicious! The place has a great family business vibe, with a clean and comfortable atmosphere. Our waitress...was amazing too! Places like this are a treasure to find!More
