Moved away 4 years ago and now moved back. The Floridian has always been my favorite restaurant in the entire world (and I have traveled extensively). I have had the best meal of my life here and it still does not disappoint.
The chef knows...how to mix all flavors to hit each note in a dish. Sweet, spicy, creamy, salty, bitter, briny...etc.
We love this restaurant and will continue to visit!
Only complaint is the tourists from up North....they can be so rude, loud and pushy.More
This restaurant was recommended by locals. It is a little more casual than I usually choose when travelling; however, the food was superb. My server Amie was exceptional. The acoustics were terrible. It was loud!
As a solo diner, I always order appetizers so that...I have small portions of different tastes. The Pickled Shrimp was good and the shrimp cooked properly; however, it was not very spicy. I would have added jalapenos to it. The Shrimp Tacos were excellent, with blackened shrimp, perfectly cooked, a good sauce, and very spicy pickled watermelon. The side of potato wedges and their garlic mayo were to die for. I would risk my eardrums to go there again just for this dish.More
The cocktails are absolutely amazing and the food was excellent, especially for me because I am a vegetarian and they offer great options. We were able to make reservations for outdoor seating by phone (not on the website) and had a really nice dinner here.
This place was full of “local color”....fun, funky, loud, busy...but still engaging in social distance. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Our waiter, Jake (?) was a bit hurried, he had lots of tables to service.
They had some great single-malt scotch to...choose from! Local beers on draft, too. Both pricey.
Hubby had pulled pork on cornbread waffles....super interesting with the BBQ pork cooked with peaches and blueberries. Hubby said it was incredibly good. I had the panzanella salad....excellent, fresh, tasty mixed greens with cornbread croutons.
Overall, meal was great. I’d highly recommend it. Paid public parking next door.More
I made a reservation for an early 4:30p dinner for a birthday celebration for 4. We arrived at exactly the right time and were told we had no reservation. We are local and frequent this restaurant. The hostess was in a very fowl mood and...I explained the time I called what their person said when I gave them my phone number and they confirmed my name because I was in the system. She said you never called, so what do you want now. We said our table for 4, again she acted in a huff, & my husband said this is my wife's birthday not the way we should be treated. We eventually asked for the manager who finally seated us at a table and mind you the restaurant was at about 20% capacity. She did not apologize for the hostess but got us menus and that was that. During the shutdown we supported this restaurant by getting take out often and tipping well as we knew what they must be going through. Maybe this is not a big deal to some but treating patrons with disrespect is not a way to keep local business. We are in a business where we meet newcomers to teh area and have always supported this restaurant. Food was average this time and we won't be back.More
OMG. The best restaurant I had the privilege of eating at while in St Augustine. It is almost a 3 hour drive from where I live but I am planning a day trip to have lunch there. Service was amazing. Staff was friendly and very...proud of their restaurant and it showed!! You MUST go there.More

The Saint Augustine The Floridian is a local farm to table restaurant. The menu changes and is wonderful. It is set in a big old house, inside or outside seating gets you the same great service. We take all our guests there and they have never received a bad meal. They also support the community. I’m not sure how to answer your question about stealing a name from a different restaurant and jacking up prices. It does not sound like one has anything to do with the other. I fell what you get at the Saint Augustine The Floridian is well worth the price.
