In St. Augustine for a little get-a-way; still a bit concerned about dining in so we ordered for delivery. In the mood for pizza and wings. Had the meat supreme, a slice of veggie pizza, buffalo wings, fried calamari, Caesar salad, side Greek salad, and cheese cake for desert. Though the order was delivered later than expected, we received a text message to inform us of and to apologize for the delay, which was greatly appreciated. The pizza was tasty but not piping hot as we expected; not a big deal; just popped it in the microwave to put a bit of heat to it; the wings were good, though the medium sauce seemed to be a bit sweet as well; was not a fan of the sauce. The salads were great and the cheesecake was decent.

Very unique setup being inside a Shell station right in town. We ordered a small pizza (6 generous slices) and it was the perfect size for me and my husband. Our waitress was very friendly and even went into the station to select a seltzer for me! We enjoyed the food, service and prices!

This pizza place is inside a gas station but the food is delicious. Don’t be afraid to order you won’t be disappointed. The Stromboli was very nice size and very tasty along with the peanut butter pie Staff could have done better with hand washing and hygiene. A lot of touching mask without washing hands. Manager needs to re enforce Servsafe standards. Being an instructor you could see a lack of training and enforcement with food safety principles

Bad beginning. When we went to place a to go order, the person at the register was not in a good mood and was not very nice. We waited and waited and finally after 30 minutes, asked where our order was. We were told that they had burnt it the first time and had to recook it and never told us. When we finally got our order, it didn't have all the ingredients on it and it tasted terrible. We were highly recommended to this place. I got a $15 sandwich that was worth $2. Just terrible!

Hungry and needing to eat before touring San Sebastian Winery across the street, we decided to give Carmelo's a try. We sat out on the patio and enjoyed the warm January weather as we ate pizza, salad and a brew. The pizza slices were a good size and tasty. Don't pass it by!

I had heard good things about this restaurant so give it a chance and was disappointed. I ordered the bacon ranch pizza and literally could not taste any bacon or any ranch. It was just chicken with cheese. No sauce. I won’t be back.

A local recommended this place which is a small "joint" just west of Flagler Univ. on King St. She said it was a good Italian restaurant but was known for its pizza. It can be hard to see when approaching from the west because it is hidden behind the Shell gas station. From a fairly extensive menu, we got a pizza with Italian sausage, pepperoni and bell pepper. It came our hot and "gooey" with lots of cheese. Toppings were good but bell pepper was chopped into little pieces and not scattered very well instead of being sliced in larger pieces and laid on top. Very tasty, and crust was just crispy enough. Would surely go back.

The food was delicious and I loved the pizza by the slice variety. Our waitress was good natured even when a glass of pop tipped over into the pizza slice she just served. Garlic knots, spaghetti and meatballs and the sandwiches, all delicious! The restaurant is attached to a gas station, but don't let that dissuade you...get in there for a great meal!

Carmelo's was a ten-minute walk from where we were staying, which made it convenient. We sat outside with our puppy and were immediately helped by Allie. She was friendly, funny, and very efficient. We ordered the Antipasto Salad and a large pizza, half cheese, half meatball. The salad was one of the freshest and most delicious salads I've had, and it was more than enough for 2 of us. The pizza was cooked to order (we like ours crispy) and had good flavor. I would have liked a little more sauce, but that is my preference. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner, and our puppy enjoyed the fresh water that Allie gave her.

Just picked up this Margherita Pizza and to say it’s a disappointment is an understatement. It’s disgusting. There’s absolutely no cheese but a few random slices of mozzarella, a few random black basil leaves, way too much sauce. It’s basically red sauce and crust. I paid $25 with tip for a 16” that wasn’t even edible. We won’t be back.

Absolutely amazing pizza. Y'all were right. This really hit the spot and honestly is a top five pizza I've had anywhere in the country. The sauce could use some tweaking but everything else was on point. The cheese is a total rockstar. Their datil sauce is a game changer as well. This will be a spot we return to when we come back.

Attached to a gas station and is pretty small but don’t let that fool you. This is the best pizza in St. Augustine! in my opinion! Very friendly staff as well. We always make a stop to Carmelo’s when we’re visiting St. Augustine.

They sell pizza by the slice. They are really huge and very reasonable! We all felt the pizza was some of the best in St. Augustine. We also had some of the desserts and they were delicious! Service was friendly. We liked the place so much that we ate there 2 nights in a row.

Our daughter recently made a trip to St. Augustine and came back and raved about Carmelo's Pizzeria, so we thought we'd better try it! We arrived and initially questioned whether we were in the right spot. The side of the Shell Gas station that it's located inside was boarded up and we thought a remodel might be happening. We went inside and realized everything was open. There appears to be two 'sections' of the restaurant. One is fast casual counter service that serves slices, and the other section is more typical of a restaurant with booths, tables, a concrete bar and some outdoor seating; plenty of options. We explained to our server "Bee" that it was our first time. Despite the appearance of being short-staffed, she took time to suggest some items that would be good for a first-timer. We ordered 10 wings, hot, a stromboli, and a salad, all to share. WINGS: Buffalo Style, Hot - We asked Bee if the hot was hot, don't pretend you don't ask this question...She said it was hot but not nuclear. I'd give the spice on the hot a 6.5/10. It's also crafted with a Dital Pepper sauce. It was our second experience (one from the night prior) with this pepper sauce. It's incredibly unique and you definitely should try it/buy it somewhere in St. Augustine. The wings were about average in size and prep, but the sauce is what makes them unique. I would have preferred a better 'char' from them, maybe throwing them in the brick oven to achieve that, instead of whatever method they use. Wing Rating: 7/10 SALAD: Insalatta Mista - With the heaviness of the rest of the meal, we needed some veggies. This salad was very well composed and didn't skimp on the toppings or the dressing. Served in a large bowl, we ordered it with their house balsamic vinaigrette (slightly sweeter than you'd expect) and the golden Italian (standard issue). Artichokes tasted better than your normal canned quartered hearts and everything else was fresh as well. Salad Rating: 8/10 STROMBOLI: Choice of 3 Toppings (+ one) - We opted for the stromboli instead of the pizza and ordered mushroom, onion, sausage, and pepperoni for the toppings. The exterior crust was thin and crispy, and the stromboli was packed with the toppings. I'm a big fan of Grande brand cheese (you should be too). It melts great at high heat, has great stretch (See pictures) and has the perfect balance of cheese and salt flavor. The dipping sauce served on the side is their house pizza sauce. It is chunkier than your typical sauce and because of that, it doesn't 'stick' to a dipped item as a blended sauce would. Despite having to 'top' each stromboli bite, the flavor was great. Stromboli Rating: 8/10 Overall, it did the job. They've won several local awards for best this or that (on the walls) and it was good food, but it wasn't tremendously unique in my opinion. Service was great, beer recommendations also great, and the food was good. If you're on the fence about trying it out, it's definitely a safe try.

We ordered a 16-inch pizza but it looked small so we measured it. Turns out it was a 14-inch pie. If you do the math, we only received 75% of what we bought.
