I guess I'm one of the "regulars" that people mention. I've probably been here 50 times over the years. Sometimes I pull my boat up. Lake Talquin is a beautiful lake, and The Whip has an excellent spot right on the water. I like to sit on the deck, because unless you need AC, why sit inside? It's a natural... More

What a great place! Wanted to go somewhere different and a friend had posted a trip to the Whip on FB. Took my hubby for Father's Day - we loved it! Sat inside where it was cool with a cold beer (I usually drink wine),delicious food, and great view of the lake. Going back soon with friends!

A year ago when we ate at The Whip it was better than this time. I'm not sure what has changed? Perhaps there is a new chef? The menu was not as tempting as before & the wine selection was no way near as good. They did have an extensive craft beer selection however. The place is still a rustic... More

Enjoyed lunch several times now at The Whip on Lake Talquin. We've always sat outside on the deck overlooking the lake and the roof waterfall. Beer selection is good. Service is always friendly and prompt. I can't speak for much of the menu because I've stuck with the grouper sandwich each time. Very tasty and generous. Great place to feel... More

On a whim went in search of this restaurant our neighbors had recommended. Fantastic find!! My husband had the grilled tuna that was out of this world and my grouper was equally as good. Veggies were perfect along with a huge serving of scrumptious mashed potatoes. We will be back!!

Not a gourmet place, unless you're looking for fresh fish sandwich. They have a GREAT one! Eat outside on the dock and enjoy a lazy lunch and the lake view. Great slaw and potato salad to go with their lunch offerings. Down home food for locals. A little out of the way, but if you're in the neighborhood, this place... More

We were sent to this restaurant "The Whip" by our hotel desk clerk. She warned us that it was down a winding road that dead ends into a lake. The restaurant is behind the bait and tackle shop and it is excellent. Very small, 8 bar stools and maybe 6-7 tables also outdoor dining is available. Restaurant sits right on... More

Went here at recommendation of realtor after looking at property by Lake Talquin. She thought it would give me flavor of the area. It did. Made me decide to look elsewhere. The place seemed nice enough, inside and waterfront seating. I got there hot and exhausted from property hunting. I am not a youngster either. First I was half heartedly... More

The Whip is right on Lake Talaquin. It's a little rustic but has a good personality. We started off with the Brisket Nachos; this was a plate of individual nachos, each topped with brisket, cheese, coleslaw (!) and a slice of jalepeno....very good! I had the Ribeye Sandwich, also very good. My wife had the Talle XL, also very good.... More
