Ate there twice in 4 days. A fantastic breakfast with the best pancakes. Super big and fluffy. The staff were great, they treated you like they were so happy to have you. They made you feel very welcome. Can’t recommend them enough.
Rarely reviews on Google or TripAdvisor have let us down. However, House of Breakfast and Lunch didn’t come close to living up to the hype. The iced tea tasted like it had been run through twice and Pepsi tasted off. The potato wedges were hand...cut but were undercooked and crunchy in the middle and had no seasoning. The chicken salad was nothing special. The chicken tenders were huge and were hand breaded but were extremely dry. Sadly…the kids’ bowl of Fruity Pebbles cereal was the best thing we ordered. Maybe they are just having an off day?More
You will not leave hungry or disappointed. This restaurant has so many choices and very large portions. I tried the pot roast sandwich which was very tasty and came with real potato wedges not frozen. My husband had the Fat Boy breakfast and really enjoyed...that dish , he was unable to finish one serving, so I guess he would lose the Fat Boy breakfast challenge. My sister had the Momma Ski and absolutely loved it. I also had to try a pancake, and have to say it was an excellent large buttermilk pancake. This restaurant serves breakfast all day. Plus lunch and dinner. Very large menu to choose from. The only item not worth it was the ice-cream sundae which was a very small cup not even a scoop of ice-cream for $2.99 so I would skip that if I was you. Other then that a great place to go and enjoy a reasonably priced excellent meal.More
Have had breakfast here before. Remembered how good it was, so came back.
Had the most awesome french toast! The batter used was excellent. Then topped with sliced banana's, strawberries, and icing drizzle and maple syrup.
Ask for it!! It's not on the menu.
Other...great choices too.More
Unfortunate have been a number of times...but today worst food ever. Iced tea tasted like cigarettes...croissant crab cake with soggy inedible croissant...breakfast bowl with chunky brown gravy and potatoes from grill overcooked to a dark dark brown like shoe leather. Service was good but food...was awful. Will be a while before trying again.More
Husband and I went for breakfast. I ordered the Crab Benedict with side of grits. They were delicious. My husband ordered 3 peacon pancakes. Our waitress warned him " they are the size of a plate". They were huge. Needless to say we brought two...of them home for tomorrow. It was great experience.More
We ate breakfast twice and dinner once at John Ski's. It is a "hole in the wall," but those are the best hidden gems in any town!!
The portions are HUGE!! The apple fritter french toast was written on the "Chalkboard Specials" A HUGE apple...fritter cut in half, and fried like french toast. It was topped with 10 baked apple pieces, 3 eggs and bacon....all for $11.99
The second breakfast was Momma Ski's Breakfast. OMG!!! Two eggs, bacon, hash browns, 2 biscuits, and 2 HUGE pancakes that completely covered the plate!!! And again, all for $11.99.
Our dinner was the two pork chops. We opted for them to be deep fried. We had salad (with iceberg lettuce.....NO FANCY WEEDS), We split our meal, so the server brought each pork chop on a plate with a huge pile of mashed potatoes, and a huge bowl of white gravy to dunk the pork chop or drench the mashed potatoes. And all for $12.99.
We got to meet John Ski, the owner. He joins in with the servers cleaning tables, serving food, seating guests, and ringing out customers.
DON'T MISS John Ski's Breakfast and Lunch. You will wish there was a John Ski's restaurant in your hometown!!!!More
A must visit if you’re in the area for breakfast. Huge portions, tasty food. Very large menu that should have everyone’s tastebuds covered. My only wish is we all wish the bacon was cooked a little more crispy.
John and staff are absolutely amazing! They food is excellent and so is the staff. They all go out of their way to make you feel like family. Courtney, Miranda, Angie, Joanie, and Mary are all extremely good. The staff was so kind and courteous...to our family member who had dementia and was struggling. I highly recommend this restaurant to all!More
