We went here to celebrate my daughter passing her state board exams and sat outside. It was a beautiful evening, and the place was not busy at all. My wife got the Grouper sandwich which she said was incredible. I had the Conch Fritters which were also outstanding with their own dipping sauce. My daughter and I split the Steam pot which had snow crab, shrimp, clams, mussels, baby red potatoes, cob corn and andouille sausage simmered in their own garlic white wine broth, which was a deal at $31. My daughter had the Brownie Bash for dessert and loved it. We were served by Mandy who was incredible. She explained everything to us and was very jovial and a pleasure to speak with, I highly recommend asking for her. We will definitely be back.

Laishley Crab House has a very nice setting overlooking a marina and the river. Much of the restaurant is on the deck with and there is an inside and outside bar. The setting is the best thing about the restaurant. The food is average at best. My wife had the blackened seafood trio and the shrimp were tiny and the scallops had no taste. The grouper fillet was good size and tasty. I had the salmon which the waiter recommended. It was average at best. We both had green beans as a side and my wife said "these take me back to my youth". That was when vegetables were boiled to death. The beans were limp and wrinkled and I am sure any nutrients were boiled out of them. It is a good place to go for a drink at the outside bar but we will not be going back to eat. I would also recommend sticking with the basics for cocktails. My wife ordered a cosmo at the bar before dinner and it did not look or taste right. There are way too many good restaurants in Punta Gorda to go to before this one. I will say our server Braeden was excellent.

On vacation, looking for a good seafood meal, found one at Laishley’s! Were hesitant to check it out since we made last minute decision on dinner & didn’t have a reservation, but were seated indoor right away. So, unfortunately, didn’t get to experience the view with outdoor seating, but at least we got a table. The shrimp cocktail, crab trio, grouper Laishley, blue crab cakes, and key lime & peanut butter/chocolate pies were all great, no complaints. Lisa was an awesome server - attentive & great personality/sense of humor. Would definitely come back here again if in the area & would highly recommend it - just make a reservation especially if you want to sit outside for the view!

What a disappointment. My son was visiting from out of state and it’s our tradition to get one last seafood meal before he leaves town. He usually flies out of Tampa but booked on Allegiant out of Punta Gorda this time so decided to give Laishleys a try. We ordered the Steamer and when it arrived I knew immediately it was trouble the steamer pan wasn’t just warm it was cold, no water and even the potatoes were cold. What a disappointment. He was so looking forward to it and with a time crunch to get to the airport there was no time left to reorder. The server was gracious and offered her apologies but at a market price of $90 for the steamer there was no way we weren’t going to say something.
I was excited to see the fish and chips was grouper but the batter was so thick and pasty it was hard to tell if the fish was any good.
Very disappointed!

Went to Laishley's for a nice dinner with friends and was so very disappointed! Ordered the Blue Crab Cake dinner which was accompanied by rice and green beans. The only palatable item from my dinner was the green beans. The crab cakes had no taste and even less actual crabmeat!
Other than the view from their deck of the harbor, I do not recommend!

The mahi was absolutely awful. It was mushy and tasteless. I have never had such horrible mahi; I could not eat it.
The clam strips were mostly batter; very little clam meat.
The hush puppies tasted like the very old oil that there were deep fried in.
Save yourself the disappointment; eat elsewhere.

4 of us had dinner last night. 2 meals were ok, mine was terrible. I had the shrimp combo and it looked like it was left in the oil too long. There were something’s that had been left in the oil too long. Talk about hard, I have baseballs that were more tender. The fish was deep fried, again way too long, likewise on the shrimp. I guess the cook fell asleep. I won’t be back.

We have been visiting Laishley's for the past 10 years on trips to Florida and it was always our favourite stop. I wrote a glowing review years ago about our experiences there.
Unfortunately I believe it has been under new management for the past few years and we feel they no longer care about their customers.
While I do still enjoy the Tuscan Chicken (now called the Pesto Chicken) dish, the 'chef veg' has been green beans for at least two years now and some of the best dishes (like lobster tail and filet mignon platter) have been removed from the menu.
On our last couple of visits the hostesses have been quite rude. We were told we couldn't be seated until the rest of our party arrived despite the place being almost empty (I can see this complaint in other reviews but the management doesn't seem to care about bad reviews or feedback). We asked if we could look at a menu while we waited and were tossed a menu across the counter without any further acknowledgement.
My husband had the Clam Chowder which contained no seafood and was bland but the waiter wasn't interested and just stared back and said nothing.
I'm finding it harder and harder to convince my husband to go here with me despite having fond memories of first dates there many moons ago. It's also somewhere I'd like to recommend to those renting our airbnb but it's becoming a hard sell even with the beautiful view.
I see some good reviews of the sushi so we might give it one last chance but if front of house continues to be this rude we'll have to give it a miss from now on.

Ambiance was great (sat outside along the harbor), waitress was good, food was tasty... but HOLY EXPENSIVE. For that reason alone, we will not go back. We ordered the crab trio ("A trio of Alaskan King Crab, Snow Crab and Dungeness Crab Legs, steamed and served with new potatoes, corn on the cob and hush puppies") which was "market price" ($65). Stupid us didn't ask how much crab we got for that amount of money. See photos... we have never paid that much for so little crab before. None of it was seasoned and the snow crab was overcooked. Our waitress told us her boss said it was 1.5 lbs, but I'm pretty sure that was counting the potatoes, corn and hush puppies.

The food was very good, with a lot of interesting items to choose from. I enjoyed my blackened scallops salad at a reasonable price. The setting was very pleasant, with a nautical flair. It was also nice to be in restaurant that did not have music blasting. We were actually able to have a comfortable conversation with our friendsWe've been here before and will come back again for the fine seafood. The one area of disappointment was the service. Our waiter did the bare minimum -- took our order and delivered the checks. Otherwise, he was brusque, inattentive, and not at all service conscious. The young man who brought our food was much more pleasant than the waiter. It we return to this restaurant again, we will make sure not to have this waiter.

First time visiting Laishley Crab House and I am certain it will be our last. Four adults, four very expensive meals and half the food was truly inedible. The grouper was overcooked and hard to eat, the clams were so overcooked they were like little crumbs, the hushpuppies were small and overcooked so you could not eat them, the calamari appetizer was overcooked and hard to eat, the green beans were flavorless, the "asparagus risotto" was really just rice with asparagus in it. The crab and the lobster were both fantastic, the rest of the meal was crazy horrible. I did email them about our experience and received no reply. I wasn't asking for anything, but if they don't know, they can't fix anything. I am guessing they simply do not care. Poor service, poor food - there are much better places to eat so I would skip this one.

Laisleys was a great place with good food, drinks and service. NOT ANYMORE! The food was luke warm not fresh and way over priced. The manager has absolutely no experience or skills. Where did they get this rude and borderline nasty man.? Customers have a right to politely request that their food be fresh( especially seafood and cooked properly. The manner in which this tall Asian man spoke to us was grossly inappropriate. We were extremely polite, he was not. Will be avoiding this place this season. Hope they get a professional manager before he runs this lovely place into the ground.

I made a reservation on Open Table for a party of (4) at Laishley Crab House, in Punta Gorda, FL for Wednesday, June 8th at 12:30 PM.
We are from Naples, FL and was meeting another couple driving down from Tampa, FL.
We arrived at 12:15 PM and was told by the "hostess", we couldn't be seated until the other couple arrived.
The main dining area was mostly empty and the large U shaped bar was EMPTY. There were plenty of unoccupied tables on the deck, where we asked to be seated.
I advised the hostess, I understood "Policies", however we wanted to enjoy a cocktail on the deck, while waiting for the other couple to arrive.
So I sought out a manager, who advised me that was the Policy and just wait!
We told the hostess to cancel our reservation and we went to Hurricane Charlies a few blocks away, meeting up with our friends and had a nice lunch with a couple of special cocktails, while enjoying a wonderful view of the harbor.
I feel sorry for the wait staff at Laishley's for being deprived of at least a $25 - $30 tip, because of inflexible policies and management who just don't get it!

Took two girlfriends from out of town for dinner. Started out with nice hostess, overworked and cheerless bartender, wonderful server Kyle. Food came and was awful. Grouper was overcooked and tasteless like it had been freezer burnt. Hush puppies overcooked. Fries were dry. Mussels were chewy and overcooked. Would never go back. Positives were warm bread and atmosphere and nice large booths.

Its been 5+ years since we were in this aea and I HAD to stop at Lasisley's to compare. Here with a group of 6 had a reservation and seated right away - place was crowded. Very attentive waitress and helpful. Ordered drinks, they came promptly. Ordered appetizers and diners at the same time. I opted for a bowl of the She Crab soup - a GREAT choice. Flavorful with a goodly amount of crab and other goodies to enhance the flavor. Had the triple special (shrimp, scallops & grouper), all broiled. Each was done correctly and tasted fresh (as they should be). Cole slaw was great as a side.
All in all a very good meal. Interesting side with the check - they allow for a 4% reduction for using cash vs. credit card.
